Janet POV
"You ask a lot of questions. Janet, I will be taking my leave before the other guards return. I will be back soon," he said to me while leaving the dungeon.
I kept on staring at him as he left without even looking back.
Once he left, I looked at the food once again before linking with Tricksy.
"Tricksy, are you sure that this food is not poisoned?" I asked my inner wolf.
"No, it's not poisoned; you can eat it," Tricksy said to me.
"Are you sure, mind you, that if anything that happens to me after I eat this food is going to happen to you too?" I said to Tricksy.
"Come on, Janet, you complain a lot," Tricksy said to me with an irritated tone.
With that statement, I took the plastic fork inside the bowl, scooped the noodles into my mouth, and munched them for a little while before swallowing them.
After that, I waited for a little while to see if anything was going to happen to me, but after some minutes, I felt nothing.
"Tricksy I think you are right; there is nothing inside the food," I said to my inner wolf while scooping the food inside my mouth, but she sighed angrily without replying.
Leroy Pov
"Leroy, I hope that you are aware that you are the one watching over the dungeon this evening." The chief guard asked me.
"Yes, sir, I'm aware of that," I replied with a firm tone.
"Ok, perfect. I only wanted to remind you of it because the Alpha won't take it lightly if he discovers that the dungeon was unguarded," the chief guard said to me while heading outside.
Once he left, I heaved a sigh of relief because this is the opportunity I have been waiting for for a very long time.
I have to do everything in my power to get Janet out of here before the Alpha and the future Alpha victimize her like the other prisoners that have recently stayed in that dungeon.
If there is one thing I still haven't been able to figure out, it's the reason why Alpha and his son are so cruel.
I have witnessed them executing many innocent people for no reason, just as they did to the parents of Janet, and the worst part of everything is that his son grew up to follow his path, and soon he is going to become the Alpha. All this means that the problems in the Oz Pack are still far from ending.
I can never allow Janet to be a victim of their evil plots; she is too young for all these.
As these thoughts were running through my mind, one of the guards tapped my shoulder from behind, and immediately I jerked back to reality.
"Are you okay? You have been standing there for a while now, staring at nothing." He said to me,
"Yes, I'm okay; I just have many thoughts in my mind," I said to him with a fake smile before I started heading towards the dungeon where Janet was.
When I got there, I realized that she was talking to herself as usual, or possibly to her inner wolf.
Immediately I got in, and she jerked back to reality.
"Hey Janet, how are you?" I asked her with a friendly smile.
"I'm fine," she replied with a mean tone while peering into my eyeballs.
With that, I smiled while shaking my head in disbelief.
If there is one thing that I like about her, it's her bravery. Despite all she has been through, she still has this act of bravery written all over her face.
"Still discussing with your wolf as usual?" I asked her.
"Yes, at least she's the only one I have complete trust in," she said to me with a mean tone.
With that, I heaved a sigh before replying.
"Janet, I understand that you don't trust anyone, and I understand perfectly why, and I can't ask you to trust me because trust is not something that I can't demand of you; I have to earn it, and I promise you that soon I will earn your complete trust," I said to her, but she hissed without replying.
"I know that you are feeling hungry already, and that's why I got you something to eat," I said to her while handing her the burger that I brought out of my bag.
She stared at me suspiciously for a few seconds before collecting it from me.
"Thank you," she said grumpily, and I faked a smile.
"I hope you haven't forgotten about what you told me the last time that you came here because I'm already tired of staying in this filthy dungeon." She said it to me with a dejected tone, and immediately I felt pity for her.
"No, I haven't forgotten, and that's also why I came here," I said to her reassuringly with a calm tone, and immediately a bright smile enlightened her face.
Without saying anything to her, I went back to the entrance of the dungeon to ensure that no one was coming.
I stood there for some minutes until I was sure that no one was coming in the direction of the dungeon before returning to where she was sitting down while eating the burger I gave her.
"Janet, tomorrow the future Alpha will be going to his training center that is located in the woods. He will be going there with almost half of the guards in the palace, so that means that there will be a limited number of guards in the palace, and that will also be a perfect opportunity for you to escape," I explained to her reassuringly.
"Are you sure that it's going to work? What about the Alpha himself?" She asked me with a shaky tone filled with fear.
"The Alpha will be present, but you don't need to worry about him," I said to her, but she nodded nervously.
"Janet, I know that you don't trust anyone, but if you are going to get out of here safely, you need to trust me on this," I said to her reassuringly, and she faked a smile at me in order to hide the fear that was written all over her face.
"When will the future Alpha be going to his training?" She asked me with a nervous tone.
"He will be leaving very early in the morning, so we will have to take action before sunrise," I explained to her.
Afterwards, I started explaining the escape plan to her carefully in order to avoid any mistakes.
As I was explaining it to her, suddenly the door of the dungeon busted open, and immediately my heart skipped.
