Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: A new adventure

Tony's POV

"No,no,no, dad!!!!!!!" I screamed in agony while running towards the lifeless body of my dad.

"No, dad, please don't do this to me; don't leave me alone in this world like mom; please, dad, wake up." I cried in agony while shaking the already dead body of my father.

"Dad!!!!!!" I cried in agony as hot tears kept streaming down my cheeks.

"No!!!!!!!" I screamed in pain, and without noticing it, I started shifting into my wolf form.

My groaning shook the whole walls of the palace as I was shifting.

After shifting, I sat down beside the dead body of my father, tears streaming down my cheeks.

"Alpha, Alpha," one of the guards who was lying on the floor called out to me while wriggling in pain.

He was possibly the only survivor, and he was on the verge of dying.

Without hesitating, I stood up, ran towards him, and helped him sit down.

"Sorry, future Alpha, we couldn't save the Alpha; they were too strong for us," he said to me in the midst of pain.

"Please future Alpha help me, I'm in pains, I don't want to die," he said to me in the midst of pains.

"Don't worry, I will help you, but first tell me who was responsible for this," I said to him.

"It's the girl that was put in the dungeon," he said to me with a shaky tone while panting heavily.

"What!" I exclaimed in surprise. "You mean she did all this alone?" I asked him with an astonished tone.

"No future Alpha; she was helped by Leroy, but she was the one that killed the Alpha," he said to me while panting heavily.

Once he broke the news to me, my jaw dropped in awe. I should have known; the signs were clear to me, but I ignored them. I had recently noticed how Leroy has been acting strangely, but I ignored him. I never imagined that he was planning to betray us, and about Janet, I think I was wrong about her all these years. You underestimated her; she wasn't a weakling after all.

They can run all they can, but I'm going to find them, and when I do, I will make sure I pay them back with their own coins. I will eat their hearts the same way they ate that of my father.

As these thoughts were running through my mind, I couldn't help but pant angrily.

"Future Alpha, please help me," the guard sitting in front of me said to me, and immediately I jerked back to reality.

"What makes you think I'm going to help you?" I asked him with anger.

"You failed as a soldier; you were supposed to protect the Alpha even though it means sacrificing your life for him, but here you are still breathing while the Alpha is lying lifelessly over there, and you expect me to help you, right?" I asked him. My voice was arraying in anger.

"Future Alpha, please have mercy on me. We tried our best to save the Alpha, but they were very strong," he said to me in the midst of pain.

"Do you expect me to believe that you all tried your best? Only one soldier and a teenage, inexperienced girl did all this, and none of you could have stopped him." I said this to him angrily while punching the wall, and immediately he froze in terror.

"Well, you were already dying before my arrival; I think it's time that you join the others," I said to him with my eyes burning in anger.

"Future Alpha, please don't kill me; please, I have children," he pleaded with me while trembling in fear, but all his pleadings fell on deaf ears.

Without hesitating, I choked him on the wall while sinking my claws into his neck, and immediately he started wriggling in pain while trying to break free from my claws, but all his efforts proved abortive.

I kept staring at him with no emotion as his legs kept tossing up and down as his lungs were slowly running out of oxygen.

In no seconds, his eyes became white as the iris slowly disappeared, his eyeballs forcing themselves out of the sockets.

I pinned him firmly on the wall until I was sure that he had given up his ghost.

Janet's POV

"Hey sleepy head, wake up," Leroy said to me while tapping me.

After some minutes of hesitation, I slowly opened my eyes, but I was welcomed by the rays of sunshine that were penetrating through the transparent glass of the car, and immediately I used my hand to shield my face.

"What happened?" I asked him grumpily while turning my gaze toward him.

"Come on, Janet, don't tell me that you don't remember," he said to me while turning his gaze towards me, and immediately, just like a flashback, I started remembering everything that took place earlier.

"I killed the Alpha, right?" I asked him, and immediately he nodded while smiling at me.

"Up to now, I still can't believe that you did it; it was very courageous of you," he said to me while smiling.

"Normally, I was supposed to be happy that I had finally killed the man behind the deaths of my foster parents, but it's the contrary; all I'm feeling is guilt," I said to him sorrowfully.

"Come on, Janet. I understand perfectly how you feel, but there is no reason for you to feel guilty; I too would have done the same thing that you did if I were in your shoes," Leroy said to me.

"Well, it's easy for you to say; you are a soldier after all, so killing is nothing new for you. I haven't killed someone before; this was my first time, and if I was in my right sense, I wouldn't have done it," I said to him. My voice was filled with regret.

With that statement, he heaved a sigh without replying, and immediately a silent atmosphere enveloped the whole car.

After some minutes of silence, I decided to break the silence.

"Why aren't we moving? Are we waiting for someone?" I asked him.

"No, we aren't waiting for someone; we are just some meters away from the borders that separate Oz Pack and Moonstone Pack, but we can't pass through the borders. It's very risky because I'm sure that the news of the Alpha's death has certainly spread throughout the whole Oz Pack, and the future Alpha will certainly be looking for us. So it's possible that news has reached the guards watching over the borders.

"So what do you suggest that we do?" I asked him.

"Well, we are going to follow through the woods; it's the only option we have, but we can't continue the journey today because it's already getting late so we will spend the night in the woods, and tomorrow we will continue," he said to me.

"What? Spend the night in the woods; isn't that risky?" I asked him with a surprised tone, but he simply smiled at me.

"Look, Janet, we don't belong to a pack anymore; we are now rogues, and if we are going to survive out here, we have to start taking some risks and also learn to start adapting ourselves to every situation we find ourselves in. Have I made myself clear?" He asked me. There was a lack of emotion on his face, and his eyes bored into me with an icy glare.

"Yes," I replied after some seconds of hesitation.

"Perfect," he replied before turning his gaze away.

Some expressions explained:

*Rogue: Rogue is a werewolf that has either been kicked out of their pack or left on their own free will.
