Chapter 11 - Chapter 6: Survival Challenges

Going outside, they walked around almost half of the entire building before realizing that the entrance to Basement Level 1 wasn't inside the house.

The downward stairs were blocked by a fire door, with a U-shaped lock hung on the handle, locking the door.

"Step back, let me do it."

Mossy Mushroom took out his gun.

Bang!

A mushroom bullet was fired, missing the target.

It left a hole in the door but did not hit the lock.

"Hmph."

Mossy Mushroom frowned and aimed again before pulling the trigger.

Bang!

The bullet still missed.

Bang!

The bullet continued to miss.

Bang!

The bullets kept missing.

Bang!

All the bullets missed.

"Nice shooting."

Ree Shil couldn't help but clap.

"You don't get it; this counts as a skill too! Cute Mushroom!"

Mushroom Sae was a little annoyed.

"Forget it, let me handle this."

Ree Shil went over with an iron stick in hand.

Clang!

One swing, and the U-shaped lock was rendered useless.

However, before he could open the door, it was suddenly swung open.

[Roar!]

A disfigured worker's Zombie Beast pounced out from inside.

This guy wore a safety helmet, his nose was collapsed, and even had an eyeball hanging out. There were only a few teeth left in his mouth.

But his figure was quite agile, as it aimed for Ree Shil's face with a leap.

Bang!

However, a gunshot sounded behind him, piercing the Zombie Beast's head directly.

It struggled on the ground for a while before becoming completely motionless.

"?"

Ree Shil looked at the person behind him, puzzled.

"I didn't aim this time."

Mossy Mushroom proudly blew the smoke off the gun barrel.

"..."

He was at a loss for words.

Due to the appearance of the Zombie Beast, they both became more cautious.

They thought the light in Basement Level 1 would be dim, but upon entering, they discovered that there were lights on the ceiling.

From the spacious structure, it seemed to be a parking garage.

Dry blue light liquid and dirt stains, like mud and ashes, left obvious drag marks on the ground.

Wooden and concrete debris was scattered all around.

In summary, it was a complete mess here.

"It seems there was an intense fight."

Mossy Mushroom's gaze swept back and forth, trying to find the green figure.

In the end, he only found some dried yellow grass used as padding in a half-broken wooden box nearby.

Thinking about the jokes Ree Shil made earlier, Mossy Mushroom almost thought it was the remnants of a Straw Man, but it didn't seem like autumn right now.

"Hmm? Where's the person?"

Coming back to his senses, he realized that Ree Shil had disappeared.

"Over here."

Ree Shil's voice came from afar, echoing in the empty parking garage.

Following the voice, Mossy Mushroom quickly found Ree Shil and the Straw Man.

"You're here, Grass."

At this moment, Straw Man was leisurely lying on a container and waving at Mossy Mushroom.

"You grass guy, I can't believe you're not dead."

Mossy Mushroom let out a sigh of relief.

"Did you take all these down?"

Ree Shil's attention was drawn to the surroundings of the container.

More than a dozen dead Zombie Beasts were laying around haphazardly, none of them intact.

"Of course, Grass."

Straw Man nodded confidently.

"Thirteen in total."

Ree Shil counted and looked at Mossy Mushroom.

If it were this guy, he'd probably need over 100 bullets.

"Hey, hey, who do you think you're underestimating?"

Mossy Mushroom saw through Ree Shil's gaze.

However, to be honest, neither of them expected that the usually ridiculous Straw Man would possess such extraordinary combat abilities in an Instance.

Mossy Mushroom: "Is this the effect of your equipment card?"

Straw Man: "Grass, what's that?"

"As expected, you know nothing."

So Ree Shil explained it to him.

"I don't have it equipped, grass."

Straw Man spread his hands.

"You're that strong without equipment cards? I don't believe it! Cute Mushroom!"

Mossy Mushroom's eyes widened.

In fact, all the credit should be given to Straw Man's card player's talent that he had never mentioned before.

[Otherworldly Walker]: Greatly increases combat power within an Instance

"Indeed, it's amazing. I never thought you'd transform from being merely a silly person to having overwhelming combat power in an Instance..."

After viewing the card player's talent, Ree Shil couldn't help but say: "To become such a formidable silly person."

"I'll punch you, grass."

Straw Man laughed.

"There's actually such a card player's talent; it's truly eye-opening."

Mossy Mushroom next to him couldn't help but feel a bit sour.

"The contrast is really significant. Yesterday, you could only tie with him, but today, you could kill dozens of him with just a punch."

"Don't say my thoughts out loud! Cute Mushroom!"

"Hahaha, grass."

After regrouping, Ree Shil and Mossy Mushroom planned to help Straw Man choose a card from his deck for equipment.

The mission that Straw Man executed in the Rookie Instance was a fire rescue operation, so all of his 5 cards were related to fire scenes.

4E+1D, they were:

[Burning Garbage] [Burning Tire] [Burning Table] [Burning Rolling Door] [Fire Extinguisher]

"Choose this one, grass!"

Straw Man raised the card he most wanted to choose, [Burning Tire].

"Huh? Why do you want to choose this one?"

Mossy Mushroom was taken aback.

"Wind and Fire Wheel, super cool, grass!"

Straw Man made a motion of pushing the wheel with both hands.

"What's the use of being cool if it doesn't kill you?"

Mossy Mushroom admitted that for a moment, he almost got persuaded, because it did seem really cool.

"If you want to commit suicide, you don't have to go through all this trouble. I'll get you a lighter later."

Ree Shil directly rejected the idea.
