Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: (edited)what's bring you here?

In the VIP ward of Qiancheng Hospital, worry filled the air,

In the office, Mu Chen spoke, his voice heavy with care.

"Mom, Dad, Aunt Jing, Uncle Jing, I'm sorry for the delay,

Jingning forbade me from telling you," he paused, in dismay.

Confusion spread among them, glances exchanged in the room,

"I'm Jingning's doctor," he continued, "her illness a looming doom.

For a year, I've known her secret, a serious blood cancer's plight,

She has but three months left, her future shrouded in night.

Please, let's fulfill her wish, our love is strong and true,

We want to marry, to cherish the time we have, few.

Mrs. Mu looked at Mr. Mu, a nod of silent consent,

Mrs. Jing then asked, "But how to convince Xilian, our intent?"

Mu Chen smiled gently, "Let's not tell him all,

Not about the illness, nor the wedding's call."

Back in the ward, Jingning awoke, her gaze on Mu Chen,

"Mu Chen..." she whispered, her voice a fragile pen.

Everyone gathered, except Xilian, absent from the scene,

Mu Chen approached, holding her hands, his touch serene "Jingning, everyone agrees with our marriage."

She smiled, a light in her eyes, a moment of glee.

He kissed her forehead, a promise in his touch,

Mrs. Mu sighed with relief, "Ning, thank God you're with us."

"How are you feeling now?" she asked with care,

"I'm fine, Aunt," Jingning replied, her spirit laid bare.

Mr. Jing's voice trembled, "Ning, can you recall,

The faces of the kidnappers, anything at all?"

"Dad, I don't know, their faces a blur,

I can't recognize them, nor who sent them to stir."

In the corridor, Meng Xian walked, her thoughts adrift,

A man bumped into her, her bag fell, a swift lift.

He picked it up, a familiar face, a gentle smile,

"We meet again," he said, their encounter worthwhile.

"Yes, but what brings you here? Are you here for Jingning?"

She asked in surprise, her curiosity springing.

"Yes, she's my best friend," he replied with a grin,

"Let's go together, I haven't entered yet," she said, letting him in.

Meng Xian and the man walked together towards Jingning's room, their steps echoing softly in the hospital corridor. As they entered, the atmosphere was filled with a mix of relief and tension.

"Jingning," Meng Xian called softly, her voice filled with concern. "Look who I found."

Jingning's eyes lit up as she saw the man. "Xilian! What are you doing here?"

Xilian smiled warmly. "I came as soon as I heard. How are you feeling?"

"I'm better now," Jingning replied, her voice steady but tired. "Thank you for coming."

Mu Chen watched the interaction, his heart heavy with the weight of the secret he carried. He knew that Xilian's presence would complicate things, but he also knew that Jingning needed all the support she could get.

Mrs. Jing approached Xilian, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you for being here, Xilian. Your support means a lot to us."

Xilian nodded, his expression serious. "Jingning is like family to me. I'll do anything to help."

As the day wore on, the family discussed the upcoming wedding. Plans were made in hushed tones, careful not to reveal too much to Xilian. They wanted to keep the focus on Jingning's happiness, not the looming shadow of her illness.

Later that evening, Mu Chen and Jingning found a quiet moment alone. He held her hand, his eyes searching hers. "Are you sure about this?" he asked gently. "We don't have to rush if you're not ready."

Jingning smiled, a bittersweet expression on her face. "Mu Chen, I want to spend whatever time I have left with you. I want to be your wife, even if it's just for a short while."

He kissed her hand, his heart aching with love and sorrow. "Then we'll make it the best time of our lives."

The next day, preparations for the wedding began in earnest. The family worked together, their love for Jingning evident in every detail. Flowers were arranged, a dress was chosen, and the small chapel was decorated with care.

As the sun set, casting a golden glow over the hospital, Jingning and Mu Chen stood together, ready to take their vows. Their friends and family gathered around, their faces a mix of joy and sadness. "This is just a simple wedding, but we will arrange a grand wedding for you guys,in the next few months." Said by Mrs Mu

The ceremony was simple but beautiful. Mu Chen and Jingning exchanged vows, their voices filled with emotion. As they kissed, a sense of peace settled over them, a moment of pure love amidst the chaos.

But outside the hospital, shadows still lurked. The man who had kidnapped Jingning watched from a distance, his eyes cold and calculating. He knew that his master would not be pleased with this turn of events.

As the newlyweds celebrated with their loved ones, the man made a call. "Master, the wedding has taken place. What are your orders?"

The voice on the other end was icy. "We need to act quickly. Ensure that Jingning does not leave the hospital. We cannot afford any more surprises."

The man nodded, his expression grim. "Understood."

Inside, Jingning and Mu Chen held each other close, unaware of the danger that still loomed. For now, they were together, and that was all that mattered.
