Chapter 65 - Chapter 65- The Battle

"I am glad that you are finally awake." Said Jakobus sitting by the window from Tera/Alana's room.

"How long... have I been... sleeping?" Asked Alana with a cold gaze.

"Not long. " Jakobus studied Alana's face. He sighted in defeat. " We have to go back..."

"I know. There's something I need to do."

"I see." Jakobus looked down at his hands.

"I have to kill the King, and his Witch mage." She said coldly.

Jakobus grinned."Very well," Jakobus replied, his grin widening. "It seems the time for revenge has come. We shall make them pay for all they have done."

Alana's normally cold gaze, was now flickering with a mix of determination and grief. She clenched her fists. "They will feel the same pain they inflicted upon my family and all those who have suffered under that man tyranny."

"You must be cautious" Jakobus warned, his voice with a hint of caution. "The King's forces are strong and ruthless. But with your dragon powers and I happen to know some people, whose resolve is as strong as your will, who are willing to die fighting the king.

Alana looked at Jakobus,"I don't plan to die." Her white hair cascading around her shoulders.

Jakobus stood up from his seat, his expression fierce. "Then let us gather our allies."

"Your mother would be proud of you." Tera said pushing Alana to get up.

Mandrak together with the allures stood ready. "We are not warriors but we can help, my daughter sacrifice, I will not let be in vain."

"Unfortunately no one wants to join you, in this conflict." Said the mage."Dwarfs and Elves, do think that has nothing to do with them. They say it's human conflict."

"We can't force anyone to join us, however if we don't kill the king I am sure no kingdom will be safe," Alana spoke determinedly.

Jakobus clenched his fist. "Then we will have fight even if we are outnumbered."

The mage sighed. "I will join you too, and I have some friends that may have some fight left in them. "

"Do you think your friends dragons will join us?"

Tera sighted. Her silence was enough for Alana to proceed.

"The battle has already started", said the Mage opening a Portal to the human realm.

"Hmm is that so?" Said Jakobus surprised. " I guess we are a little late to the party." He went silent for a second. "We have to go, Ashur will need us."

Amidst the battle Ashur, wasn't keeping his focus on the battle, he was striking his enemies, but his head was swarming with thoughts of worries.

He didn't, he couldn't lose this time, even if they were hundred, thousands, he had his people he promised to protect.

In the sky the moonlight was glowing brighter than ever, he could finally feel the peace he had been looking to achieve all week.

The screams of the battle vanished, the night turned quiet, the moonlight lit in the center, he could see, her, at top of the hill, bathed in moonlight, there stood the woman from his dreams, his wife.

Her long white hair cascaded down her shoulders and her bright red eyes held an intensity, that pierced through his soul.

Without a word, Alana extended a hand towards Ashur. In that moment, he knew that he had discovered a connection that transcended time and space. There was an undeniable pull between them, a connection forged by ...destiny.

As Ashur reached out to take her hand, the distance between them closed in a mere of seconds, a sudden gust of wind swept through, clearing everything around them. Everything seemed to fade away. They were transported to a realm where time stood still, and their destinies intertwined.

Together, they would face the battle, not just as mere warriors, but as a force fueled by a bond to be discovered and purpose. Ashur had found his missing piece, his guiding light in the chaos of war. And in that moment he knew she was his, and he was hers.

Ignis for the first time felt the presence of Tera, his love, his life. He finally understood the urges he felt towards the human female. Ashur felt a fire raising inside him.

And so, as the battle raged on, amidst the clash of swords and the cries of warriors, Ashur and Alana fought side by side, with their movements in sync, they overpowered the enemy.

Ashur rawred, the enemy trembled with fear.

"Don't be afraid they are still not enough, they are not over 100 " yelled Gideon the knights yelled in their number made the battle field tremble.

"Blood for freedom" Jakar gave the battle cry, as the commander, the warriors, the blessed got up, they stood strong and cried with him. All the warriors on top of the hills, felt a raise in their will to fight, their bows shooting arrows, with determination, the will to fight till death.

Allures attacked, their vines taking over the enemy. They were shooting their force and energy wiping field.

Tera jumped to the middle of battle field moving and opening cracks to the ground she made the enemy tremble, while Ignis melted it's enemys. As well the snow.

Tera made the ground turn into sand, engulfing those on top of it.

The warriors who fought were in an awe watching the display of force their side displayed.

They fought with a fierceness and determination that shook the enemy to their core. With each swing of their swords and each blast of their dragon powers, they pushed back the King's forces. The ground shook beneath their feet as they unleashed their wrath upon them.

The battle raged on, a blood stained the ground and snow, one by one the king knights fell down.

"No one leaves her alive." Screamed Jakar, as crushed some knights with his pure brute attacks.

Ashur forces were unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with.

Ignis unleashed his fiery breath, engulfing enemies in flames, while Tera used her earth magic to shake the ground beneath them, causing chaos and confusion.

The Allures attacked with their vines, wrapping around the enemy and pulling them towards their doom.

Arrows came flying from the side of the king's knights. Tera quickly reacted, raising a stone shield to deflect the incoming arrows. The arrows collided with the shield, some bouncing off harmlessly, others embedding themselves in the stone. But none were able to reach their targets.

Tera, quickly dissolved the stone wall into sand, it came down raining, as the warriors rawred in excitement, they quickly prepared to counter-attack.

They knew that they could not afford to let their guard down, not when the enemy was still so close.

With a wave of her hand, Tera summoned earth spikes from the ground, sending them hurtling towards the enemy archers. The spikes pierced through armor and flesh, and Ignis burned them easly, eliminating the threat they pose.

As the archers fell, their arrows ceased to rain down upon them. The battlefield momentarily fell into a lull, allowing Ashur and Alana to catch their breath.

Alana and Ashur found themselves locked in a moment of intense connection. Their hearts beat strong, their eyes meeting in a silent exchange.

"We can't let up now," Alana said, her voice cold and determined. "There may be more enemies lurking nearby."

Ashur nodded in agreement. "We cannot afford to be complacent. The battle is far from over."

They pushed forward, joining their allies in the fight once more.

The enemy forces dwindled, their morale shattered, and one by one, they fell. The battlefield turned into a sea of defeated foes, and amidst the chaos, Ashur, Alana, and their allies stood tall.

Finally, the last enemy stood there, Gideon, covered blood, and a silence settled over the battlefield. The air was heavy with the scent of victory and blood.

As they surveyed the scene before them, a mix of relief and exhaustion washed over them. They had triumphed against all odds.

Ashur jumped up soaring through the battle field, he rawred loud, everyone screamed in unison.

"Gideoonnn!" I'mAshur scream echoed across the battlefield, reverberating through the silence that had fallen. All eyes turned to Gideon, the last standing enemy, covered in blood and weariness evident in his eyes.

Gideon's gaze met Ashur's, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. The weight of the battle hung heavily in the air as they stared each other down, two warriors who had fought fiercely for their respective side, but to Ashur there was no respect towards Gideon, the traitor.

Without hesitation, Ashur lunged towards Gideon, propelled by a surge of adrenaline, he jumped up holding him, his hand on Gideon's neck. In the air, Gideon struggled to break free from Ashur's grasp.

An mischievous smiled came from Ashur's lips. "What did you say survival instinct?"

Gideon's eyes narrowed as he recognized the taunt. He had spoken those words to Ashur during a previous encounter. But now, as Ashur held him in mid-air, Gideon knew that his survival instincts were about to be shuttered if Ashur dared to drop him.

Gideon couldn't help but think of the fear that propelled his betrayal, that had led him to this point.

Gideon had once been a loyal soldier, but now he was nothing more than a pawn to the king.

"Ashur please," he fought to speak. " Think about the times we fought together, the times we ran together, and lived together, I stood by your side... As your father died. "

Ashur cold gaze, was scary, Gideon who once was good at understanding what his friend was thinking, was now having a hard time. "Yeah you did,yet you still chose to turn your back on us." Ashur then loosen his grip Gideon fell into his death.

Gideon's heart sank as he heard Ashur's words, he fell himself falling. He had indeed turned his back on his family and friends, but it wasn't out of malice or betrayal. It was because he was afraid, he knew the king's power and he feared it.

As Gideon fell to the ground, he knew that his fate was sealed. He had fought valiantly, but in the end, it was all for naught. He had lost everything, his friends, his honor, and now his life.

But even as he lay dying, Gideon refused to give up hope. He knew that there was still a chance for redemption, for forgiveness. And he hoped that one day, Ashur and the others would see that he had not betrayed them out of malice, but out of necessity.

They all encircled him, as the darkness enveloped him, Gideon closed his eyes and whispered a few words.

Jakobus squated closer to listen what he said, his eyes widened with the last spoken words.
