'Gideon is here? Why is he here?' Ashur and Jakar ran towards the town gate.
It was late, but everyone was ready in front of the gate, to fight if they needed to.
Ashur arrived alone with Jakar, everyone made way for them to walk to the front.
Jakar eyes was of disbelief, everyone else was a filled with little bit anger and confusion.
Ashur remained unreadable. Gideon was giving his best to understand what he was thinking, but he was used to not being able to read Ashur's expressions.
Alana arrived later, she came following them after they left, even though Ashur told her to not come. She made her way to the front.
Gideon from his horse looked down at his former friends and fighting companions.
He was waiting for them to shout vile words but they were silent, even though he could imagine what they were thinking.
"Hello Ash.... Prince Darius III, honestly I am surprised that you managed to survive the dragon, the king is wondering what happened to you."
Everyone was surprised that Gideon would call Ashur by his real name in front the kings knights, who accompanied him.
"Did you defeated him? You are indeed an unpleasant surprise."
Jakar couldn't stop grinding his teeth in anger.
Ashur expression remained cold.
"I see that the Lady has also arrived, interesting so you guys got close already, that she's already involved in such personal matters." Gideon grinned as he saw Ashur emotionaless face, sunddenly change.
'did I hit a nerve?' Gideon smiled.
Ashur face was almost twisted in anger seeing that Alana was there. 'why is she here, did she hear what he said??'
"Ohh so amusing, unfortunately I am only here to deliver a message, as former friend and companion, you could consider this as my departure gift to you for all those years we spent together."
He paused. " In a week or less the king knights will arrive and kill everyone here, so if you want to survive you better run. This time there will be no hostages."
The anger in everyone's face was very visible.
"Why did you do it?" Jakobus with his eyes red in anger, was holding his sword.
"Survival instinct I guess would be the reason number one. Do you realise how small your group is right?"
"..."
"How many are you? Like 50 maybe 60 warriors, some of you are already unable to fight at 100% capacity. Do you know how many knight, soldier and warriors does the king has, over hundred thousand men. He has a navy fleet. What do you have?? A resolve? A vendetta??"
"Bastard" Jakobus gritted his teeth.
"It that all that you wanted to tell us?" Ashur asked coldly.
"I know you really do think you can beat him, but don't think hundred thousand men are normal people, they are warriors, knight and soldiers used to fight. There's no chance of winning."
"You should leave." Jakar , turned his back to go away.
"Are you not taking me serious?"
They all turned their back on him. Jakobus was taken by Jakar and his brother Tobyah.
Ashur stayed put, where he was. " I have a message for you to deliver to your King....
Tell him he doesn't need to send his men.
We are coming for him.... Soon."
"Did you not hear what I said ???"
Ashur turned and left.
"Did you hear me... ???" Gideon was left frustrated and yelling outside.
Inside the walls Ashur was looking around trying to find her.
'Where is she?'
He tuned his head from one side to the other. 'where is she?'
He was getting frustrated, breathing heavily, he turned around and found her in front of the gate looking up.
He walked up to her when he was about to touch her he stopped.
"Is snowing again." Alana said still looking up.
He wanted to yell at her, as to why she had come, when he told her to stay behind.
But somehow that was not he was doing was just starring at her back.
'why did you come?? Did you hear everything? Can I even trust you?'
Alana finally turned and saw him standing behind her.
"You dropped this.." she opened her again showing his pendant. " You are always carrying around. It must be important to you."
Ashur took the pendant from her hand, he had received back from Jakar, a few days ago.
There was silence between them ... This times it wasn't awkward.
"Aren't you going to ask about him and what he said?"
"You don't seem to want to talk about it..."
Ashur pulled her into a hug. Alana was surprised.
After a little while.
Ashur came again into his senses and let her go.
"Let's go home."
