As the creature closed in, he noticed a clearing up ahead. With his newfound agility and he decided to make a break for it.
The moment he did, his face changed in shock as he realized the clearing was not the refuge he had hoped for. Instead, it was the edge of a steep cliff!, the forest stretching below.
He had no time to think. With a quick decision, he leapt off the edge of the cliff, his heart pounding as he plummeted towards the forest below. He felt the wind rush past him as he fell.
His focus shifted to finding a safe landing spot.He quickly realized that beneath him was a river. They would soon be entering the river!.
Seeing this he was become uncertain if entering the water from such hight was a good thing or not, moreover he was carrying someone. But he had no other choice and he prepared himself.
But in that moment, the one he was carrying vibrated and instantly he felt something on his back, and two things morphed on his shoulders!
With eminent force, both of them launched a black line towards the water - he realized it was a rope - and right away, he was pulled back towards the edge of the river!
He realized it was the same weapon which had saved him in the fight with that minotaur!
He made contact with the ground and a jolt of pain shot through his legs. The impact was harsher than expected. Without a delay, he recovered and cast another shadow step.
He entered the deep forest, which looked more packed up and bigger than what he anticipated. As he continued to dash at high speed in his battle mode, he realized he was out of Qi already. He could only cast shadow steps once more, but the problem was that he could still hear its roar. That meant they were still in danger!
Venturing further into the forest, at the left side of the corner, he saw a mountain, and a huge cave facing them. He had to act quickly, and with the last of his qi left in him he used shadow steps for the last time.
He dashed without any delay towards the dark and luminous cave, the only option available to him. The ground beneath them shook with each rapid step, and the deafening roars of the creature echoed in the distance. He maneuvered them through the thick underbrush and jagged rocks that lined the entrance. The cave seemed to pulsate with an eerie glow, casting long shadows that danced along the walls.
They entered the cave, and the oppressive darkness enveloped them. The only source of light was the faint glow emanating from the walls. Thankfully, he had night vision, allowing him to see clearly despite the darkness. He felt a chill run down his spine, and he knew that he was not alone.
He stopped walking as she suddenly muttered, "Wait a sec." He looked at her beautiful face, which was still blushing.
She took her hand out, revealing a red ring shining on her finger. A yellow orb appeared, illuminating the whole cave. He gazed at the floating yellow orb and thought to himself, "This world is really full of surprises."
"Cough cough, I will appreciate it if you put me down," she said.
He quickly snapped out of his thoughts and looked at her, noticing her continued blushing. Sensing his gaze, she blushed even more. He calmed his mind and slowly put her down.
He watched as she managed to get on her feet with some struggle, and her ring glowed once more, conjuring a blue pill. Without delay, she gulped it down, and her body glowed, illuminating the entire cave with blue light. Just seeing her white hair dancing in the blue aura captivated him. She slowly opened her eyes, revealing her silver crystal eyes.
The moment she realized he was looking at her, she blushed and quickly averted her gaze. He too snapped out of his daze and looked down, feeling a little embarrassed.
"Thank you for saving me," she muttered.
"Eh, it's nothing," he replied, scratching his head, trying to appear nonchalant.
He saw the atmosphere becoming awkward and he could feel an invisible, harmless pressure descending upon him. Tanvir Kaizer cursed silently in his mind, "Fuck, Tanvir, why are you acting like this?" He thought trying to break the tension and maintain a calm demeanor. He deactivated his battle mode, returning to his normal state.
She stuttered, and he noticed that she was gazing at him in a daze. Suddenly, she realized what she was doing and quickly looked away, another blush appearing on her face.
"I'm from the Snowflex family, I'm Arabella," she finally managed to say.
"Oh nice to meet you," Tanvir muttered. Another awkward moment descended.
But the silent atmosphere was broken by a bone-chilling scream of that huge monster.
They looked at each other and nodded there heads and continued to go further in the cave. She took the lead as she was the one holding the source of light. Tanvir also reactived his battle mode. Sensing something he turned around and looked at for a second and before continuing to guide.
Tanvir felt weird but focus Infront of him. He have to stay on guard. Who knows when might danger come.
Meanwhile on her mind,
" He put back his mask on" she thought. Unknowingly she felt some disappointment realizing she can't see his face now.Reason unknown.
As they further continue, The cave path become divided in two paths one was a narrow path enough for a person to go through and for the other one is Huge and easily dozens of people can pass through it simultaneously.. He was about to take the big path but ..
He Found foot prints!, Of humans. The footprints entered the narrow path..as for the big path there's no foot print's. And judging by the numbers of footprints there's atlest dozens of people who entered the path.
He examined the footprints closely, trying to gather as much information as possible. They seemed relatively fresh, indicating that whoever had passed through here was not too far ahead. The narrow path seemed to be the way they had taken, but the absence of footprints on the bigger path puzzled me.
I turned my head at her, who was still standing behind me. "Hey, looks like there are footprints going through the narrow path. It seems like people have been here recently. What do you think we should do?"
She pondered for a moment. "If those people went through the narrow path, they might have had a reason for choosing it. It could be a hidden shortcut or perhaps a trap. We should follow their footsteps and proceed cautiously. It's better to be safe than sorry."
I nodded in agreement. As we have to hurry up and can't waste time here."You're right. Let's stick to the narrow path and stay alert. We need to watch out for any potential dangers or surprises."
We moved forward, following the footprints that led us deeper into the cave. The narrow path twisted and turned, making it difficult to see what lay ahead. The oppressive darkness seemed to grow thicker, and the eerie glow from the walls intensified, casting strange shadows on the rocky surfaces.
As we followed the narrow path, the cave suddenly opened up into a vast underground chamber!
And that's not the shocking part, The shocking part is there a huge Metal door and Infront of it where Hundreds of people Standing!,
Some where trying to break in The door banging the door with there wepons where some where crying and injured.
I looked at my side realizing, There are atlest dozens of paths leading here and people are coming from the paths quickly.
I saw some familiar faces when the abyss towers gate was still opening. It seems many people survived and decided to head here.
I looked at her, she was gazing at the people with sad faces.. I also realized the issue, So many people died. There were atlest thousands of people when the gate opened no it's even more.. but now we are less then few hundreds of people here.
" Let's head down?" I muttered.
She nodded and we get down and started heading towards the metallic door.
