Teddy was singing and happy to be commencing his term 2 exams as he walked up to school. Time flies, he added as he was strolling and grinning, "soon we will be writing our final exams." "All right, let me call Brian, I hope he's not running late today." Teddy removed his phone from his bag. He had a damaged screen on his white Samsung J1, which he was using. "Where is it?" He became agitated as a black Mercedes automobile approached him as he was strolling.
Sadly, the road he was walking on had several holes in it, and since it had rained the night before, the water hadn't dried out. The muddy water splashed on his clothing as the car passed him. Hey, what the heck is that? hey! My uniform is dirty as a result of you, bloody bastard, so watch where you're going. He yelled as he used his hands to wipe the dirt off of his shirt and blazer, adding, "This is not only a car road; people also walk here.
...
...
(Voices from the car)
boss, should I stop the car and give that child a lesson for disrespecting you? He smirked as he turned around and turned to face Teddy through the window. "Let him be, he's just a stupid kid". "But boss he..". He was cut off in the middle of his sentence. " shh! continue driving. I don't want to miss my meeting."
"okay boss". The vehicle did not stop. He stated as he dusted off his uniform, "Look at those crazy bastards what kind of a person is driving that car anyway, he didn't even stop to apologize." argh! I can't even go back to change into a new uniform because this is the only one I have. However, I can't allow that spoil my mood, so let me keep walking to school. But damn, my morning got ruined.
Teddy continued to walk to school, which was 7,7 miles from his home, but he always made it there on time. Teddy never fretted that his mother couldn't afford to pay for a ride to school instead, he was grateful that she would send him to a private school. Although some kids tease him, he never let it stop him from working hard.
.
.
1 hour later
Teddy arrived at school wearing a dirty white t-shirt and jacket. He muttered as he approached the main gate, "Damn this is humiliating everyone is staring at me like I'm some mad guy, all because of that mad bastard who was driving like a drunk person. "What happened to you, why are you looking like this, and the worst part is it's Monday and you're already looking like you're a bagger or something," the security guard questioned him.
"Don't you realize that this is a private school and that one of the requirements you must simply follow is to wear a neat uniform?. Teddy speaking inaudible: (I swear the uniform they wear messes with their heads there is no way practically all of them behave like this, but as usual it's those bloody guards that act like they run this school).
"Hey! , I'm talking to you, why won't you respond?" I almost was hit by a car on the way here, which is why, as you can see, my uniform looks the way it does. I'm sorry, sir. The security guard glance at him angrily and shouted. "Go to class!".
Teddy hurriedly strode away from the security officer. He paused and examined his clothes from a distance. "What was that, why was he staring at me so strangely?.I better hurry to the exam room because I don't want other people to see me looking like this. Do I look so horrible or is he acting like that because I'm poor", he said.
Teddy likes to dress nicely in school even though he came from a low-income family. He only had one set of uniforms, but whenever he got home from school, he always washed them and had his mother iron them. His shoes usually look shiny. He travels a distance to get to school, but he always makes sure to brush his shoes when he is five minutes away from school. This time he decided against doing it because he was already filthy and saw no reason to.
Teddy continued to move forward while hearing someone yell his name. The individual yelled. "Hey, stop right there Teddy." He paused and turned to face the rear. He muttered while scratching his head, "oh sh*t, it's Musa, I'm sure he will use this opportunity to mock me and the worst part is he's not walking alone." "Do I really have to meet this punk when my day is already bad enough?"
He snickered while gazing at Teddy. "Look at this pig, what happened to you since you actually look like one today. Oh, why bother asking, I mean, this is how downtrodden individuals like you are supposed to appear, he added as he approached Teddy to touch his jacket. "Who's a pig, you bastard! But at least I look this way because I had an accident; I can't say the same about you, since I mean, you look awful even after the effort you made. To see your ugly face in the mirror every morning must be awful.
" What did you just say? did you just call me ugly!?". Musa took two steps closer to Teddy and widened his eyes.
"yes! I spoke clearly, and you heard me. I understand that this is the only way you can act in front of me to be taken seriously. But stop right there because by pursuing someone who doesn't give a fuck about you, you're making a fool of yourself. Do you not have any books to read? Musa chuckled."I can tell you've grown some balls; you can respond. You seem to have forgotten that your mother is occupied cleaning shit at other people's homes, so don't forget that we are different."Look Musa, I don't want to be your enemy.. all I'm here for is education, if you're looking for entertainment, look somewhere else; I'm not the right person to entertain your foolishness".
Musa yelled, "look at this bastard stop challenging me, I'll beat your ass," while pointing at him with his index finger and furrowing his brows and widening his eyes. Musa yelled, "Anyway look guys, look here is a bagger looking like a pig that was swimming in filthy water." When everyone turned to look at Teddy, they all started to chuckle
Voice 1, "what is that why would he look like that on a Monday morning is he mad"
Voice 2, "tell me about it, if he wasn't going to follow the school rules why would he bother going to our school"
He would make us all appear to be poor, and this school is not for the underprivileged. Did he want us to feel guilty and donate money to him? says Voice 3. Everybody chuckled. Teddy's cheeks was heating, his hands were quivering, and his eyes were widening as he heard everyone speaking terrible words behind his back. Sadly, he was powerless to stop it. He had never been humiliated in front of others before, so he wasn't sure how to respond.
Musa making fun of him. "I told you not to tamper with me, so why are you being so quiet right now, bastard? Look around you, how does it feel to be the man of the moment, huh?".
(..)
Teddy did not respond. The guys who were strolling with Musa laughed. Teddy's eyes grew crimson and he heaved a sigh of relief. Musa approached Teddy while stomping on his shoes and remarked, "I didn't know you could be that quiet, in fact you should be like that when you see me because we are from different classes."
