Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

Augus stared at the grotesque hallway, every human mouth in the fleshy wall contorted in eerie laughter. The nightmarish ambiance sent shivers down their spines. Augus gritted his teeth; he recognized this monstrous entity – the Curse Fiend, Karma. His voice, dripping with taunting malevolence, echoed through the grim corridor.

Augus knew that Karma was no ordinary foe. In the gaming world, Karma was infamous – a raid boss of legendary proportions. He had such a colossal hitbox that it took the entire server, filled with level 100 players, to even have a chance against him. Players referred to Karma as the "Unbeatable Nightmare," and for good reason. His HP was so massive that defeating him required not just strategy and skill but also the employment of glitches, cheats, and elaborate ambushes.

This was the only boss that every player absolutely hated that they wouldn't even report someone cheating because this thing is just that impossible to beat. This is the one boss that you can't just rush in because it will one shot a max level player if they got hit by its combo.

Karma: "Void, Void, Void... Welcome to my domain! Did you miss me?"

Augus clenched his fists. The others, Maki, Toge, Yuta, and Panda, stared wide-eyed at the grotesque sight, unknowing of the true horrors of this raid boss.

Maki: "What the hell is this?"

Panda: "I've never seen anything like it!"

Yuta: "Augus, what's going on?"

Karma's deafening laughter intensified, echoing in the nightmarish hallway.

Karma: "Ah, Void, you never told them, did you? You're in for a treat!"

With a sudden, grotesque squelching sound, the hallway burst to life, a deluge of writhing mouths and fleshy tendrils hurtling toward the group.

Toge, determined and fearless, leaped forward, unleashing his curse technique with a thunderous roar.

Toge: "Get blown away!"

A powerful shockwave surged forth, slamming into the nightmarish maw. Toge staggered back, panting from the immense recoil of his curse technique. Maki, Panda, and Yuta rushed to his side, concerned for his well-being. Augus, however, couldn't tear his gaze away from the now-dusty hallway, his mind racing.

Toge's coughing fit, blood dribbling from the corner of his mouth, spoke of the high price he'd paid for his recklessness. Maki's voice carried the weight of her frustration and worry.

Maki: "Toge, you idiot! You can't just use your curse recklessly like that!"

Toge remained silent but offered a contrite, apologetic glance.

Yuta, ever supportive, stepped in with praise.

Yuta: "Hey, he acted quick. That's something, right?"

Panda nodded in agreement. Yet, their hopeful optimism was short-lived. A manic, bone-chilling laughter erupted, filling the corridor with echoes of insanity and mockery.

Karma's voice, laced with taunts, cut through the air.

Karma: "Oh, what's this? A party? Did you hope that little shockwave of yours would slow me down? Adorable! But really, what was that supposed to do? Because I felt absolutely nothing!"

A tremor of fear rippled through the group. Karma's laughter persisted, a relentless torment that haunted their every thought.

Augus: "Shit... this really is Karma. How are we going to beat this guy on his turf? C'mon Augus think! You played this guy, there has to be glitch I can use against it."

Outside the hotel, the curse energy erupted like a volcano, sending shockwaves of dread across the world of sorcerers. Gojo, in the midst of training Megumi, halted in his tracks as he sensed the ominous surge. His Rikugan, a window into the supernatural, revealed a sight that sent chills down his spine.

Gojo: "Something's ain't right."

Megumi stammered, anxiety etched on his face as he glanced up at the tumultuous sky.

Megumi: "What is it, Gojo-sensei?"

Gojo furrowed his brow. With an air of uncertainty, he admitted he didn't have all the answers.

Gojo: "I don't know. But I have to go check it out. Megumi, head to Principal Yaga. Tell him I'm on my way to the source."

In the blink of an eye, Gojo teleported to the hotel, where the unsettling confrontation unfolded. As he arrived, the sheer intensity of the curse energy brought something to mind - Augus and his Void form. The contamination of this energy felt eerily familiar, like a sense of déjà vu or an infinite loop. Augus was the embodiment of emptiness, and this new phenomenon seemed like a different yet equally sinister force.

Meanwhile, Kenjaku (disguised as Geto) wore a mask of surprise, his excitement barely contained as he muttered to himself.

Kenjaku: "Another one... interesting."

He rose to his feet and silently made his way toward the source of the surging energy, staying hidden from prying eyes. Hanami and Jogo, curious about the unfolding events, followed suit, their senses attuned to the growing disturbance.

As the contamination of curse energy spread, a series of misfortunes befell weaker sorcerers, spirits, and ordinary humans. A grim, dark cloud of misfortune hung over them, each incident culminating in death. Unbeknownst to onlookers, these deaths were the handiwork of sinister curse fiends. Those who perished underwent a horrifying transformation, reborn as cursed fiends themselves.

Back at Jujutsu High, Principal Yaga reacted swiftly, issuing orders to all available sorcerers to contain the ensuing chaos. He watched the news in a grim realization as reporters speculated about a terrorist organization wielding biochemical weapons.

Reporter: "Ladies and gentlemen, we have reports of sudden explosions and accidents throughout the city. Authorities are still investigating, but some suspect a terrorist organization may be behind this. We urge everyone to remain indoors and stay safe."

Nanami, Otohime, Mei Mei, and other sorcerers at Jujutsu High quickly organized themselves to respond to the crisis.

Nanami: "We need to contain the situation and protect as many as we can. Keep your cursed tools at the ready."

Otohime: "Stay vigilant, everyone. This could be the work of curses."

Mei Mei: "We'll need to coordinate our efforts and gather as much information as possible. Be cautious, and let's prevent further casualties."

As the curse energy continued to permeate the atmosphere, the chaos spread, bringing death and transformation to those caught in its malevolent grasp. Amid the turmoil, the spirits Hanami, Jogo, and Mahito watched with fascination and intent.

Hanami: "This is unexpected, Jogo. There's something big happening over there."

Jogo: "And it's got Kenjaku all riled up. We need to find out more."

Mahito: "This is a feast for us. Death and rebirth, a never-ending cycle."

As the world outside descended into chaos and confusion, the true nature of the curse energy remained hidden from the eyes of ordinary humans, who could only see the results of the malevolent forces at play - sudden explosions, accidents, and a growing sense of terror that had gripped the city.

Gojo, the strongest sorcerer, stood outside the ominous hotel, his eyes locked onto the building where Maki and her group had been dispatched to confront the malevolent spirit. His gaze was like a searing spotlight, scrutinizing every detail. The hotel was in chaos, but Gojo, the epitome of cool confidence, was determined to get to the bottom of this. He couldn't help but notice something peculiar on the fourth floor. There, the unmistakable presence of a domain expansion had wrapped around the area. Gojo's keen instincts immediately detected it.

Gojo: "Interesting... a domain expansion."

His lips curled into a sardonic half-smile. It would take more than a mere domain expansion to unnerve him. After all, he was the indomitable Gojo Satoru, feared and respected throughout the sorcerer world.

The sight of the domain expansion, however, didn't immediately compel him to take action. Gojo wasn't one to rush headlong into danger, even when his instincts tingled. Something about this domain expansion felt off, as though an unseen trap lay in wait. He crossed his arms, surveying the situation, and weighed his options.

Gojo: "It wouldn't be much fun if I didn't investigate, right?"

Determination in his eyes, Gojo decided to probe the domain expansion with his 'red' technique, creating a small red orb that he launched toward the barrier that enclosed the fourth floor. He watched with a detached curiosity as the red orb approached, fully aware that he was toying with the domain's creator.

The moment the red orb touched the barrier, an unsettling transformation occurred. The solid, impenetrable barrier morphed into a grotesque, fleshy mouth. It greedily consumed the red orb, multiple mouths sprouting from the main one. An eerie chorus of laughter filled the air, chilling to the bone.

Gojo: "Well, well, well... What do we have here?"

Gojo's voice remained nonchalant, but his guard was up. He knew he was dealing with an entity that was far from ordinary. The challenge intrigued him, but he understood the gravity of the situation. He had no intention of underestimating his adversary.

Gojo's arrogance was evident, but so was his readiness to adapt and respond accordingly. He'd faced countless curses, spirits, and sorcerers throughout his life, but this was different. He had encountered something unique, something that gave him pause.

With his trademark smirk, he continued his assessment. He could feel the tension in the air, the palpable unease.

Gojo: "This is the first time I've seen a domain expansion like this. I've one with a barrier and one without. But this is new."

A cocky edge colored his words, but beneath that bravado was an astute awareness of the unknown.

Gojo: "You've caught my attention."

The mouths, now in their grotesque, fleshy multiplicity, remained silent but fixated on Gojo, their laughter replaced by an expectant hush.

Gojo: "Now, let's see what you're really capable of."

He didn't waste a moment. With a determined flick of his finger, he unleashed another 'red' orb, this time larger, more potent. The orb sailed toward the fleshy mouths with the force of a bullet, aimed to test the domain expansion's limits. The moment it touched the barrier, the mouths devoured it hungrily, and the laughter grew more cacophonous.

Gojo: "I see. You're not just for show, are you?"

He wasn't one to be daunted easily, but there was an undeniable tension in the air. The domain expansion was unlike any he had encountered before, and Gojo's usual swagger was tempered by a growing realization – he was dealing with an adversary of unprecedented power.

Gojo: "Well, no more games."

His tone shifted from playful to serious, his eyes gleaming with an intensity that hinted at his true capabilities. He was Gojo Satoru, the man who could back up his arrogance with unmatched strength.

Gojo: "Time to show you what a true domain expansion can do."

As Gojo began to prepare his own domain expansion, the mouths, now more than ever, became alert. The air was thick with anticipation, the atmosphere crackling with energy.

 "It's pointless, Gojo Satoru."

Gojo paused, listening to the eerie, collective voice of the mouths.

Gojo: "What's your endgame? Why all this chaos?"

The mouths remained silent for a moment, their sinister laughter having ceased.

Mouths: "Revenge, Gojo, revenge on Void."

The use of the term 'Void' caught Gojo's attention. He knew that name, and it was inexorably linked to something he had encountered before. He decided to press further.

Gojo: "Oh, you're mad that you lost to a kid, is that it?"

The reaction was immediate. The mouths seethed with anger, an unsettling chorus of voices berating Gojo for his arrogance, warning him to watch his words. Gojo couldn't help but chuckle in response.

Gojo: "A powerful spirit like you, losing to a kid? How pathetic."

The mouths, a grotesque tableau of fury, didn't take kindly to Gojo's taunts. Their anger transformed into a sinister grin as they delivered a cryptic message that left Gojo intrigued and slightly unnerved.

Mouths: "You won't be laughing for long, Gojo Satoru. Once the host of the Void is destroyed, I will enjoy your despair."

Gojo's brow furrowed, his mind racing with questions. What could this powerful spirit be plotting, and how did it connect to Augus, the enigmatic Void? The tension in the air grew thicker, and Gojo understood that he had stepped into a challenge unlike any he had faced before, a situation that demanded his utmost attention and power.

***

The atmosphere inside the nightmarish domain was heavy with tension and despair. Augus cast a wary eye at his dwindling HP bar, and it was clear that their situation had reached a critical point. His once pristine uniform was now a ragged testament to the brutal battle they were embroiled in.

Toge, who had pushed himself to the limits with his curse technique, lay sprawled on the ground, gasping for breath, his strength depleted. Maki, the fierce and unyielding warrior, was now showing signs of fatigue, her eyes filled with a mix of determination and frustration. Panda, usually resilient, had lost an arm, a testament to the relentless onslaught they faced. Yuta, resolute but equally exhausted, remained at Maki's side, ready to do whatever it took to survive this ordeal.

Maki, known for her straightforward demeanor, couldn't help but voice the bleak reality of their situation. Her voice dripped with a mix of frustration and anger as she turned to Augus, who had led them into this nightmarish predicament.

Maki: "Augus, this is a pretty shitty situation we're in. Got any brilliant ideas on how to get us out of this mess?"

Augus, normally brimming with confidence and bravado, looked at his HP bar and let out a deep sigh, an unusual display of vulnerability.

Augus: "Honestly, Maki, I'm as lost as you are."

Karma, the Curse Fiend that haunted this nightmarish domain, cackled with delight as he watched the group's turmoil, his laughter echoing through the grotesque hallway.

Karma: "Oh, Void, you're just a shell of your former self now. Merging with this human was a mistake. You're powerless to face me."

Augus clenched his fists, a mixture of frustration and determination boiling within him.

Augus: "Don't count me out just yet, shithead."

In a burst of resolve, he issued a command.

Augus: "Bite!"

A colossal, bloodthirsty hound's head manifested and lunged, jaws snapping at the fleshy walls. It was an impressive display of power, but their adversary proved to be more cunning than they had anticipated. The fleshy hallway reconstituted itself, while Karma's laughter grew even more eerie, echoing through the corridor.

Toge, overcome with the urge to employ his curse technique once more, was about to release his power. However, Yuta, the ever-watchful and protective friend, intervened. He reached out to Toge, halting him in his tracks, realizing that pushing Toge further could lead to self-destruction.

Panda, known for his analytical nature, observed their enemy's tactics and offered a grim warning to his comrades.

Panda: "This spirit is toying with us."

Maki, her nerves stretched thin and her patience wearing thin, snapped at Panda.

Maki: "Don't state the obvious, Panda! We're not blind."

Panda, however, had a deeper insight into their predicament and sought to clarify.

Panda: "No, Maki, you don't understand. Karma is using us to provoke Augus, to push him into a desperate act. He's playing mind games."

Maki clicked her tongue, the weight of the situation bearing down on her shoulders. Her dark eyes never left Augus, who was lost in thought, contemplating their desperate situation. She couldn't help but wonder what Augus was hiding, what plan he was concocting in the midst of this chaotic nightmare.

Meanwhile, Augus stood at a crossroads, his mind racing. He knew that they had reached a breaking point, and he had one last trick up his sleeve. With a deliberate motion, he sheathed his nail sword, signaling his comrades to brace themselves for what came next.

Wait a minute... Why was he even contemplating about this, anyway? Everybody already knows his secret anyways.

Augus: "No matter what happens, I won't hate any of you but for your own sake get away from me as far as you can."

The group, bewildered and taken aback by his words, was left without a chance to respond. Karma, the malevolent and cunning spirit, seized the opportunity to strike back with a terrifying attack.

A grotesque mouth, stretching across the wall, lunged and devoured Augus, leaving only his left arm protruding from the nightmarish maw. Maki's horrified scream cut through the air, a testament to the depths of their despair, as Karma's haunting laughter reverberated through the grotesque hallway.

Inside the grotesque maw of the nightmarish mouth, Augus found himself in a surreal nightmare. He was surrounded by a relentless cycle of countless faces and mouths, each contorted into expressions of pain and despair. It was as if he had descended into an eternal abyss of suffering, a harrowing spectacle that played out endlessly before his eyes.

He was slowly losing his sense of self, if this kept up he might actually die before he could transform.

Outside the confines of the nightmarish domain, Karma reveled in his perceived victory. His chilling laughter echoed through the grotesque hallway, a triumphant cacophony that sent shivers down the spines of the onlookers.

Maki, her anger and frustration mounting, couldn't restrain her contempt for their tormentor. She cursed under her breath, her hand instinctively reaching for her cursed tool. She was ready to strike out at Karma, to unleash her wrath upon the malevolent spirit that had ensnared them in this nightmarish ordeal.

Maki: "You sick bastard!"

However, Panda, the voice of reason and restraint, intervened, knowing that impulsive actions in this perilous situation could spell their doom.

Panda: "Maki, hold on. Acting recklessly won't help."

Yet, as the nightmarish situation unfolded, an eerie sensation began to permeate the atmosphere. It was not confined to the nightmarish domain but radiated outward, like an ominous aura sweeping across Japan. It was a feeling of emptiness, an invisible presence that seemed to hang heavy in the air. It was not the sensation of loss, but rather the foreboding aura of an unseen predator lurking in the shadows.

Maki, Yuta, Toge, and Panda shared a moment of realization as the feeling washed over them. They understood the source of this unsettling presence. Augus was still alive, and he had unleashed his trump card. It was a desperate, audacious move, a final gambit to turn the tide of this nightmarish battle.

For Karma, trapped within the nightmarish domain and witness to the faces and mouths contorted in expressions of terror, the situation was confounding. According to the established rules of their existence, Void's host should have perished before any transformation could occur. Augus defied those rules, and it filled Karma with a creeping dread.

Karma: "This isn't possible! How is he still—"

He couldn't finish his sentence, his words dissolving into disbelief and fear.

The grotesque mouth, once echoing with chilling laughter, fell into an eerie silence. It was as if the very atmosphere had been tainted with an otherworldly presence. And then, a muffled, eerie giggling, reminiscent of the sinister laughter of a hyena, resonated through the domain.

Two gleaming sawblades, sharp and menacing, jutted out from the monstrous mouth, and a skeletal figure roared to life. Its skeletal form was imposing, and its extended tongue resembled a nightmarish centipede. It was a transformation that defied the very laws of their cursed world, a manifestation of terror that struck fear into the very essence of the domain itself.

The faces within the grotesque mouth, once contorted in expressions of despair and confusion, now shifted. Their collective voice rose, their emotions a maelstrom of terror and anger as they called out to the monstrous entity that had emerged.

"Void!"
