Chapter 38 - Azuki

Chanaka did steal and hurt people. But he did steal and only hurt people who did evil and wrong things. "They themselves were not honorable people, that is why I steal from them," said Chanaka when anyone asked him why he did horrible things. Everyone saw him as an thug and good for nothing person. Only Azuki saw him as he truly was. The good heart he had, only Azuki would support him. When Chanaka was down, it was Azuki who pulled him up. "You do not doubt yourself brother," Azuki said to him. "Keep doing what you are doing and the world will one day respect you," she always said.

"Master Kenji," said Chanaka

"Now my concentration will not waver. It will not deter," he said standing in front of the master with determination.

"Good," said Master Kenji who instantly agreed to the requests of Chanaka.

"Master," said Chanaka as he bowed down to the master.

"Thank you for having such faith in me," he said to him.

Master Kenji handed him the metal and walked away. This time Master Kenji did not even stand in the room, he walked away.

Chanaka got to his work with serious effort and concentration. I shall not waste my potential and lay my life to waste, he said to himself.

Chanaka was progressing well and sleeping in the quarters of Kage San's house. His fire had died down and anger had subsided. He was sleeping loudly when Kage San entered his quarters. Kage San quiety went over to the water dispenser. Poured a glass of water onto a cup and threw it at the face of Chanaka. Chanaka got up from his deep slumber.

"Master!" said Chanaka as he got up and stood in front of Kage San.

"Your training seems to be progressing well?" asked Kage San.

"Yes," replied Chanaka who proudly showed his wounds to Kage San.

"Are you not embarrassed of yourself?" asked Kage San.

"Even a pig would stand up for itself," said Kage San.

"But Master, Master," he stuttered.

Kage San slapped his face.

"You were the one that told me to get hit by Hiro," retaliated Kage San with anger.

"I did say that for a couple of days," replied Kage San.

"But I did not take you for a weakling to get hit for 10 days," shouted Kage San with anger.

"Master!" said Chanaka as he mustered up his spirit as much as he could.

"You are no student of mine," said Kage San and walked away.

Thunder and lightning, along with a storm took over the area. It was pouring as heavy as he could.

Chanaka walked out in the rain and started to train in the heavy rain. His eyes grew like the eyes of the young boys he had. With fire and spirit and anger. With an anger for justice.
