Chanaka went and met Master Marisho again in the caves. He was meditating. He did not open his eyes as Chanaka stood in front of him. "Go and train," he said to him. Chanaka still wounded, went outside the cages to train.
How do I beat myself, he asked himself.
He trained hard and could not figure out how to defeat himself. But nonetheless, he trained. All I need to do is cover my weak points, he concluded. He practiced his sword on how to cover the weak points. I have to be defensive, he concluded. I cannot be offensive. Master Marisho, is the greatest fighter he has ever encountered.
When Master Marisho walked out of the caves in the evening. The eyes of Chanaka grew sharp like a wolves. His weary body had vitalised. He was ready for the battle. Master Marisho did not turn into Chanaka, he was in his younger form. He shone like the sun itself. His eyes were calm and showed no signs of dominance or power or even strength. Chanaka was not prepared to fight this form of Marisho. He had prepared the whole day to fight himself.
"You never know what kind of enemy, you are going to encounter," said Marisho.
There was a long duel that ensued. Marisho was taking it lightly while Chanaka was using his full strenght. Chanaka was pushed to the ground numerous times. He was getting angry and furious. He got up and threw his sword away. I don't need this.
"My Kikku," he said
"My Kikku will break your bones," he said.
Chanaka lunged forward and kicked Marisho in the chest. Marisho did not even budge. He stood still. It was Chanaka who went flying into the forests.
When he came back, he was humbled.
Marisho tossed him the sword.
"Why practice something that you are already good at!" he asked him.
Chanaka took the sword and the fight continued.
