Chanaka stood in front of Moto. Work the fields, said Moto. Chanaka was shocked.
Me! Work the fields? he joked. I don't work the fields, he said without any humility. Work the fields, said Moto hitting Chanaka with his stick. Chanaka rubbed his shoulders. "Even Kage San make me do these things," said Chanaka. But I'am not Kage San, said Moto. Now go, he said and walked back into his house. Aido was smiling when Chanaka looked back.
"What are you smiling about?" asked Chanaka.
"Nothing," said Aido still not able to hide his laughter.
Aido kept watch as Chanaka worked the fields. The sun burning hot that particular day. It was a tough day for everyone at the fields, especially for Chanaka. He was not used to this kind of work in his life. The most hardest challenge he would undertake, but hard work. He could not take it. He thought of giving it up and walking back to his home. Every time he got up and was about to leave, something stopped him. He knew that if he went back, Moto would not take him again. And he realised that Moto was the only one who could make him become what he truly wants to become. The strongest man in the world. He sighed and went back to world. The swear enveloped his face and made his body sore. But he carried on. Finally at the break of dawn, everyone else there who worked the fields stopped their work. They headed back home. Chanaka walked back to Moto's house. Moto was waiting for him. He was smoking his pipe. He still had the same seriousness on his face which never seemed to leave. Same thing, again tomorrow.
"Tomorrow again?" retaliated Chanaka. Moto smoked his pipe and went back to his home.
"Do not be late for your meal," said Aido.
"You may miss it," laughed Aido.
