"I'm Abigail...Abigail Williams! You summoned me! I am a For...Foreigner... And you're my Master!! You can call me Abby for short if you like, I'm sure we'll be good friends!"she declared with a bright smile.
"Abigail? So you're a Servant? What the hell." Raiden's heart still raced from the unsettling illusion he had just been put through. He eyed her warily. "Why are you here. like this? And what was that illusion earlier?"
Abigail leaned slightly sideways, her smile unchanging as she answered, "What illusion? If you're on about Yogy, he isn't an illusion, I can assure you of that-he's real! And for why you are here." Her smile grew even larger, filled with excitement. "I have so longed for you to call on me! I have been watching you since the very beginning of you having the power of Servant! I am such a huge fan! But Yogy was being grumpy, said you weren't worth it, so he called you here to do just a little test."
Raiden's mind began piecing together the situation as his eyes widened in realization. "The test. was to open the door?"
"No, silly!" Abigail tittered, "It was to see if you'd run away, afraid of the presence beyond the door." Suddenly, her voice was cold, like that of a seasoned killer. "Had you walked away. you would have died."
"But you didn't!" She quickly took on her cheerful personality once more. "I am so happy for you!"
Still reeling from the encounter, Raiden asked cautiously, "So now what? I'll be able to summon you?"
"YES! And now we get to go beat up Yogy's little brother!" Abigail said, her real smile lighting up her face.
"Little brother?" Raiden's eyes widened in shock.
….
In an instant, the whole field shone bright, leaving only a lonely silver door standing in the middle, and Raiden before it. Nyarlathotep stared with disgust. "The Silver Key… How can this be?"
Nyarlathotep kept a close eye on Raiden. He didn't look much different; his appearance was still set by default, but the energy was different-ancient and unmistakable.
"How did you call him? You mere mortal! How?" Nyarlathotep stormed, his anger at having to manipulate a literal god to kill a few pantheons in order to possess him, yet here was a human that had seemed to do it with apparent ease.
"Are you afraid?" Raiden's voice was deadpan, but the image of Nyarlathotep shaking made him smile. This Outer God-who had bested him and his elites, who had almost destroyed the Justice League and mortally wounded some of its members, who had killed a fully super-charged Neil Queen-was now shaking in fear of a little child.
"You have no idea what you've done! You think I'm bad? You think I'm evil? You have no idea what you just called upon! Yog-Sothoth is not your hero… he'll end it all - the planet, the galaxy, the universe. To him, you're nothing but dust. Sure, I'll die here, but what about you?" Nyarlathotep's voice was laced with terror.
Raiden smiled as the panic overspread Nyarlathotep's face. "You're right. but that would only be true if I had summoned him. However…" Raiden's body began to glow as his clothes turned dark and a black keyhole appeared on his forehead, and in his hands he held two massive keys.
'Mooo! I was hoping you'd finally transform fully into my body!' Abigail's voice rang in Raiden's mind.
Sorry, I'm not comfortable stealing a literal child's body," Raiden said with a shrug.
"This can't be! You didn't use the Key… you've. you've become the Key?" Nyarlathotep stammered in disbelief as Raiden twisted one of the massive keys in the air. Behind his back, a huge gate opened and one of the horrific tentacles covered in eyes sprang out to attack. Nyarlathotep attempted to dodge, but already another tentacle was upon him. He guarded with his own tentacles, but… "AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DAMN YOU, BROTHER!
"I JUST NEED TIME!" Nyarlathotep screamed as he lost his third great tentacle. "GIVE ME TIME, BROTHER! YOU SHAMELESS BASTARD! GIVE ME TIME TO FULLY MANIFEST, AND WE SHALL BATTLE! THIS IS NOT FAIR!"
"Was it proper for you, an Outer God, to use strength obtained from mortals' imaginations and use them against other mortals?" Raiden shot back. Several tentacles materialized behind him; each of them targeted Nyarlathotep. At the tip of every tentacle, dark beams of energy fired out, burning pieces of Nyarlathotep's skin. This time around, the attacks didn't burn off. He could not regenerate his body as he once did, and the holes in his form were now visible.
Nyarlathotep's eyes widened as he lifted his hands to curse Raiden, and his body was surrounded by black butterflies. "YOU!" Hundreds exploded in his face, sending him flying backward. His tentacled face was blown off, leaving only half of it intact. His left hand was severed, while the right lost its palm. Staggering as if riddled with holes, he glared at Raiden. "I was near! NEAR TO THE MATERIALIZATION! NEAR TO DARKNESS! I could have overthrown him, seized the position of the Empty Hand, and overthrown his master! At last attained Father's level! Brother, you simply wouldn't understand! All of you, Outer Gods are so much better! We should never stay in the back and be afraid of Darkness! We can overthrow him! I beg you, brother! Think about it, Yog-Sothoth! WHERE IS YOUR PRIDE?!"
Raiden's anger overflowed when he saw Nyarlathotep's pleading, pathetic state. This was it-the being that had nearly ended the world, reduced to nothing more than trash to be gotten rid of.
"You want to hear the answer? Here it is, Nyarlathotep.
I hold the silver key.
Come forth from nothingness and open the lock.
Oh Father, my God.
Moving beyond the sleep of roses, the realm of dreams, we arrive at the final gate!
Qliphoth Rhizome!!
Behind Raiden, the Silver Gate slowly opened, with hundreds of thousands of small yet monstrous tentacles moving outwards, which then dragged Nyarlathotep back. He resisted and tried to save himself, but the tentacles tore his last great tentacle; he screamed due to his painful wounds. He held on to the edge of the gate and shouted.
"I DON'T WANT TO RETURN! NO! LET ME FREE, YOG! YOG, YOU BASTARD! RAIDEN KAGAWA, I WILL HAVE MY REVENGE! I WILL RETURN! AN OUTER GOD DOES NOT DIE!"
The door slammed shut on Nyarlathotep's hands, pushing him deep into the horror of its depths.
"Such a pathetic end to such a horrifying being.....I feared him, he hurt so many, and yet...." thought Raiden as he watched the death of his strongest enemy to date
'Master! Did I do well? Was I the best Servant you summoned? Was I amazing?' Abigail's excited voice echoed in Raiden's mind.
Smiling warmly, Raiden replied, "Yes, you were the best. Thank you."
'Oh? Thanks, Master… but Abby is sorry…', her tone turned to that ice-cold edge again, 'but your life force was pretty delicious.
As suddenly as the disable of the summoning had come, it left Raiden with a weak body. Without the system to warn him, all Raiden was feeling was dizzy as his vision blurred. He wiped at his eyes, but his eyes were gushing with blood, along with his ears, mouth, and nose. He collapsed face-first to the ground, passing out.
Raiden's moment of heroism would go down in the annals of history. The whole fight from start to finish had been recorded and directly broadcast by the Justice League's monitoring systems unbeknownst to him.
