Everything was going ok, this was my 'mantra' should not give in too easily when my sister annoys me, I needed to concentrate on completing my studies as my dad ordered and join his Company where Joshua was working, he graduated a few months back and he didn't waste a day throwing a party for anyone, the next day he started working, he was dam enthusiastic guy so badly wanted to run a Company why the hell he was not interested in running his dad business was beyond my thinking, there was no point of questioning when he had clearly told us about his intention.
It's been a few months, and he was already damn busy. On the other hand, my dad was getting so much free time, which he was spending with his sweet wife, vacationing, shopping, and doing other bullshit things. At present, Joshua is handling finance-related things and also the budget of the company; he is directly reporting to the CFO. In the future, he will become the CFO himself; he has that potential.
I have met Joshua's dad a few times, Thomas Winfield, who was a gentleman. Joshua had introduced me as his boyfriend directly, and his dad was not displeased or disgraced of me being a 'man'; he took an instant liking to me, and I was over the moon. Now I had only two complaints: one, Josh was so busy, and another, my sister, who always got on my nerves through Joshua. Joshua stopped going to his house as he was staying alone over there; his dad was always busy, and his sister was settled overseas, so every now and then my sister was always finding her way to get my attention in her own fucking way.
Both of our families knew about us; there was no hide and seek for doing anything. My life was going in the flow for the first time, which I was experiencing after a long time. Everything was not perfect, but I started trusting Joshua for many reasons. We were having breakfast, and Joshua and my sister were sitting opposite me while I heard a 'yelp' from my sister. When I raised a questioning eyebrow, my sister replied, "He pinched me." Josh replied, "Hey, you started." What the hell with these two? She always gets on my nerves, and he just adds more. "You know right, he is my fucking my boyfriend, Maria." "And your point, my sweet brother," "Your fucking life was already messy; stop making mine," with, of course, I will look, "Thanks for the reminder and stop being dramatic; it was just a pinch, nothing else," and that's it. I couldn't take it anymore. By throwing my plate, I walked towards my room. "Your boyfriend is short-tempered." "Like seriously, Maria, shut it." Joshua followed me.
I was sitting on the bed with burning anger. One wrong step or word would rip that person off. Joshua came and sat beside me, clearing his throat. He spoke calculated words: "Gray, she was just joking; don't take it seriously." "Right, while having food, my sister who sat beside you 'yelp' loudly, and it was a fucking joke and should be taken lightly as if it's nothing. What the hell is wrong with you guys? What the hell with this pinching match, Han? "You know your sister always wants to mess with your head; ignore her? "I fucking get her. Why the hell are you playing along with her? Like, what the hell is happening between you two?" Oh god, nothing is happening; don't imagine things she started. I took it as a joke, so I pinched back. Sorry, that went badly. "Well, for your information, everything can't be taken as a joke. It's irritating that you both are so damn close; she always giggles around you, which annoys me like hell. "She just wants to tease you; don't take it seriously." "If I am not questioning anything, don't fucking take it as my consent for everything." "It was a joke, Gray; drop it, will you?" "There is fucking limit for everything and I have noticed you are fucking missing for few hours in the middle of the night, where the heck are you going", "What are you spying on me", "We are staying in the same room, you are missing can be sensed it's inevitable as we are fucking sleeping together", "You could have followed me to thrust your curiosity", "If I fucking not trusted you I would have done that and questioned you long before didn't kept within me till now right, so answer me", "Next time follow me and give a pause to everything", "I don't want to be a shitty person who don't got faith on his own boyfriend, I am asking you directly instead of spying so you can answer right", "I may be doing anything right like swimming, having beer, and spending time in thinking kind of taking my time why are you making a big deal", "I am not making anything big deal just getting clarity", "Well I guess I made you clear if you are not satisfied with my answer gladly you can follow me I am going to the Company you got your finals prepare for that", with that Joshua left room. Why the hell didn't I follow him? I don't want to doubt him, which only affects our relationship. Trusting was not a fucking crime, but turning a blind eye to everything was. I can't doubt Joshua, no, not. In any case, I want to trust him with my whole heart, but a few scenarios only make me re-check.
Joshua was becoming famous; everyone praised his achievements after joining the company, and it didn't take a long time to reach the media. In every business newspaper and magazine, his achievements were published. Bachelor, young, hot billionaire—these criteria only gained more attention among girls. He was now completely handling the financial matters of the company. He was fucking in his 20s; this was too much to handle. My dad had told me that he would become something in the coming days, and that saying was coming true. Joshua was at his peak level.
Everyone was at the dining table for family dinner time. My dad informed everyone to be present, including Joshua, as he had an announcement to make. By clearing his throat, my dad spoke, "Kristopher Mathew's family will be joining us tomorrow for dinner. Maria's marriage has been fixed, so they are joining to discuss the engagement party, and after a few days, marriage will be held." I was happy for her, but more so for me. Kristopher was a successful young entrepreneur. Both of his parents had a reputation in the entertainment industry, but Kristopher didn't follow in his parents' footsteps. I was thinking of asking my dad why he was rushing things as only a 15-day gap was given between engagement and marriage. I held myself for sure that Joshua knew the answer, as he was a close buddy with my sister. I am asking an important thing from a non-member of my family. Wow, what a bonding I got with my family. When we reached our room as eager to know I spoke, "Why this rush I mean he is barely giving gap between engagement and marriage", "Because in a few days her belly starts growing it would be more acquired", "What", "God she has been knocked out from that guy in one of the parties, he took responsibility after agreeing for something in exchange what was that God knows", "Oh great", "You must be very happy after hearing the news of her marriage", "Yeah I am not because she was my sister", "I bet on that", "Take a break from everything she will be out soon", "If she won't find ways to annoy me or get on my nerves I am ok with her being on same roof, these days she was crossing her limits", "Ok be polite more as in a few days she is getting married", "I won't start anything you know that right", "Still just don't give in try to ignore, matter of few days", "I will try my best", "That's good, going to take a shower care to join", "Yes, of course these days you are getting to myself was like cracking a deal of millions worth together", "You have become too cheesy", "Thank you for your busy schedule which was making me carve for more of you", as soon as we entered he didn't let me to utter any other word, his kiss was a proof how much he had missed me too.
There were only a few days before the wedding, and everything was going at its best. My dad was spending millions together on this, and the wedding would be screaming his richness. My sister was always one step ahead, seeking every bit of help from Joshua. She was scheduling her time around the available time of Joshua. How lovely! They were spending more time together. Joshua cautioned me not to make a fuss out of this as a bloody perfect boyfriend. I nodded my head, which I am only good at; exactly why she was getting back to me was my unanswered question till now. It's not like I have not questioned her but ended up getting a cocky reply.
I was looking forward to following in Joshua's footsteps, enthusiastic to work in my dad's company and to face challenges that were thrown at me. I hope, like Joshua, I will be successful in the coming days.
