Chapter 5 - Jessica in a waitress costume!

Matthew's appearance made John a little surprised.

Yesterday's plan was flawless, not to mention Matthew, even Batman would not have found a single clue.

So John did not panic, he just looked at Matthew with interest.

He was a little curious after all, this was the first superhero John had seen with his own eyes.

Besides, this was the first superhero he had injured.

In the future, in order to become stronger, John would definitely cripple many superheroes.

But John did not feel guilty - such is the law of survival in the world of American comics.

To live better, you have to abandon moral principles.

Like the Punisher.

The difference was that the Punisher wanted revenge.

And John - for a better life in the world of American comics.

Just for life.

"Do you have Chinese tea here?" Matthew found a free spot and sat down.

"Of course."

The supplies at the Fate cafe were automatically replenished with coffee beans, tea leaves and fresh products every day.

And the reviews were very high.

Consider this a small bonus.

But the only food was various desserts.

"I'll have a cup of green tea."

"Sure."

The tea was fragrant, in addition to John's favorite Rainforest Dragonwell.

The Fate cafe bar had dozens of other varieties of green tea.

John chose one and brewed a cup for Matthew.

"Good tea!" Matthew exclaimed admiringly.

In fact, apart from the tea brought by John, Matthew had never drunk any other tea.

It could be said that he was just pretending to be a connoisseur.

"Although Fate cafe is able to conceal some circumstances from people with hostile intentions, this ability does not work on regular guests."

"It looks like I'll have to hire a few waiters to maintain the business."

Not worrying about current expenses, John's cafe simply made money.

John took out a small board and wrote on it that he was hiring staff, then put it outside the door.

The street was cold and empty.

"There are very few people on the streets." Lawyer Matthew put down his tea and sighed.

"Because of yesterday's massacre, Hell's Kitchen is on edge right now, most people don't dare go out on the street."

"And weren't all those killed yesterday gang members?" John solemnly hung up the little board: "Some people still say he's a good guy."

"But killing is not good, he chose the wrong method." Matthew replied, irritated by the man's words.

He didn't repeat the phrase about equality before the law.

"He could have put them on trial."

"We both know what Hell's Kitchen is like, and talking about the trial here is a little ridiculous."

John closed the door and laughed.

Matthew still wanted to talk.

Suddenly hurried footsteps were heard.

"Welcome!" John turned around with a smile.

The woman was dressed in a leather jacket and sky blue jeans, the black leather boots on her feet were smeared with mud.

Not very old, she must have just graduated from high school.

Her long black hair was like dark clouds, and her light skin was reminiscent of milk.

Her whole body was filled with the breath of youth.

Seeing John's face, the woman froze for a moment and was speechless for a long time.

"Miss?" John could only remind with the phrase.

"Huh?" Only then did the woman react and said embarrassedly.

"Sorry, I thought I saw some kind of star? But if it's such a handsome guy like you who starred in dramas and movies, then I can definitely remember."

"I'm flattered, I'm just an ordinary guy who owns this cafe." John laughed, "May I ask what you would like to order?"

"No, I just graduated from college and am looking for a job now." The girl laughed and said.

"My name is Jessica Jones."

Jessica Jones?

Seems to be the only woman in the Defenders.

She has strange abilities and the ability to fly.

But in the TV and movie version she is weakened to super jumping.

Even if the TV and movie version of Jessica Jones fought Jason one-on-one, the advantage would definitely be on Jessica Jones' side.

"John." John reached out and politely shook Jessica's hand.

"Today?"

"Tomorrow is also possible."

"No, I can work today."

It was obvious that Jessica Jones was very, very short of money, otherwise she wouldn't be in such a hurry to work.

After all, Jessica's parents and brother died in the original movie.

She was adopted by another family.

John couldn't remember Jessica Jones' story in the comics.

But in the TV and movie version, Jessica Jones has a good relationship with her foster sister but a bad one with her stepmother.

That's probably why Jessica is in such a hurry to find work to become independent.

On the first day of opening, two superheroes were on the doorstep of Fate cafe.

I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse.

John and Jessica Jones agreed on the salary, and then found a work uniform for her.

Let Jessica Jones get to work.

Dressed as a waitress, Jessica Jones looks far too charming.

It was already evening, and John closed the cafe.

Since Jessica Jones had nowhere to go, John found a place for her to rest on the first floor.

Then he went out himself.

The system could teleport him anywhere in the world.

So John didn't have to worry about putting himself in danger by leaving someone behind.

...

The dimly lit streets of Hell's Kitchen were far too horrifying because of yesterday's massacre.

There were far fewer people on the streets.

Only a few police cars scurried back and forth on the streets, preventing possible attacks this evening.

"Chief, the target hasn't shown up yet." Sitting in the police car was rookie Carl, who had just joined the force.

He was following veteran officer William on patrol.

"Sir, do you think he won't show up tonight?" Carl asked.

"After all, the matter is so serious that he must be scared too, right?"

William held a cigarette in his mouth, and his face showed contempt when he heard the rookie's words:

"Kid, do you think if he was scared, he would have killed over forty gangsters last night?"

"You can't judge such a guy with common sense, in my opinion it's better to let Iron Man and the rest deal with him."

"But....", Carl was just about to say something.

He saw William, who was driving, turn pale and jerk the steering wheel with both hands, and only managed to curse: "Damn it!"

It was too late already: the police car going down the middle of the road suddenly hit something.

There was only a dull sound.

Clouds of smoke burst from the car's hood.

"Damn, why did a person suddenly appear in the middle of the road!" William swore and looked up.

"William!" Carl screamed in horror.

Jason, sitting on the hood, looked up, and his baseball mask was knocked off, revealing his hideous face.

The rotting, corpse-like face looked at Carl and William sitting in the car.

One eye was damaged, a narrow scar visible above the left eyebrow.

The bridge of the nose had rotted, exposing the blackened nasal bone.

The skin was gray-black, like only rotting corpses have.

An awful stench emanated from the body.

William's eyes widened, and he didn't notice the cigarette in the corner of his mouth was about to burn his lips.

Amazed, he opened his eyes wide: "What kind of monster is this?"
