Chapter 7 - The Walking Dead wandering through Hell's Kitchen

The grim Hell's Kitchen was illuminated by the pale sun.

No one died last night.

The homicidal maniac didn't make a move.

However, the aura of horror in the center of Hell's Kitchen became even stronger.

It weighed on everyone who could breathe.

The fact that he killed gang members on the first day didn't mean he would only kill gang members.

That's what almost everyone thought.

But the people living in Hell's Kitchen, if they had the opportunity to move, would have left Hell's Kitchen long ago.

None of those who remained were in financial straits or held a grudge.

Those who lived in Hell's Kitchen, even if they weren't gang members, may have had a sinful past hidden in the darkness.

There weren't many people like Matthew who were willing to walk over heads for their ideals.

There were even fewer visitors to the Fate cafe today.

Only lawyer Matthew and his partner were sitting together drinking tea in the cafe.

Unlike the calm and collected Matthew, his close friend and one of the partners of the law firm, Foggy, was pale.

"Let's just get out of here, the homicidal maniac who killed over a hundred people is still roaming Hell's Kitchen!"

"It's forty-seven people." Matthew took a sip of the tea John recommended and smiled, "What a nice tea."

"Are you crazy? Everyone who can afford to move has already left!" Foggy said angrily, "I don't want to die."

"You can leave, but I can't for now, I have reasons why I have to stay."

"Whatever you say." Foggy swore, got up and pushed the door.

Matthew sighed, "Jessica, bring me another teapot."

"Okay." Jessica Jones heard someone wanted more tea.

It was even exciting.

"Thank you."

John was flipping through the pages of his book while the TV showed today's news.

The Hell's Kitchen police precinct inspector was participating in a public press conference.

"After we encountered the homicide suspect yesterday, I regret to inform you all..."

"After confirming with our officers, we can assume the suspect is a mutant."

"The main mutations are tremendous strength and fast movement, and we are currently increasing police forces to locate him..."

Blame a mutant?

John smiled, it was a tactic the police often used when they couldn't find any clues.

"He's talking nonsense, that person is definitely not a mutant." Matthew stated.

"It's just to reassure people, compared to an unknown homicidal maniac, a mutant who suddenly gained power and escaped won't cause too much panic."

"You understand these things well." John put down his books, "But this is America."

Over the past few days, information had been gathered through various channels.

It became known that this world was not a simple Marvel world combining movies and TV.

Mutants existed in this world too, but they were very cautious.

Compared to the situation they were in in the X-Men film series, their situation was even more complicated.

There was no open mutant organization anymore.

But mutants exist.

Maybe they are in the same situation as in the movie "Wolverine 3".

Xavier's Academy for Gifted went bankrupt, the mansion was auctioned off.

And humanity is still worried that mutants will become a problem.

[This strange incident is exhausted. Gain 500 Fear Points].

[S-rank evaluation, get reward: Mastery of Cold Weapons Combat (from Jason)].

There were no killings, and few fear points were obtained.

There was very little left to the 10,000 Fear Points that Freddy was supposed to be created with.

However, John was not bothered by this.

"Everything has started moving, these guys won't be able to sit still either, right?" John smiled.

Everything was going according to John's plan.

Someone was bound to not be able to sit still.

In the second year after the Chitauri invasion of Earth in America, another tragic incident occurred.

Moreover, the involvement of "mutants" would surely attract Nick Fury's attention.

"To earn a lot of fear points, it's best to involve story characters."

Looking at Matthew slowly drinking tea, John couldn't help but think.

"When will this guy make his move?"

At the moment there were only two story characters next to John.

Jessica Jones and Matthew.

Jessica Jones was John's employee and had outstanding combat skills.

Matthew was an ordinary human, and his combat skills were comparable to a powerful superhero.

"It looks like we can only continue killing acquaintances."

John pondered: "Kingpin should have taken action too, but his plans may have been disrupted by the police."

The ordinary gangsters in Hell's Kitchen were in hiding, and Kingpin's people had also reduced their activity.

John had little interest in ordinary people.

The more calm and composed a person was, the more Fear Points he got when causing fear.

Story characters had a bonus.

Ordinary people could give no more than one Fear Point.

John could get 500 points by killing 500 such characters.

"I wonder if they found out about the surprise I left them?"

...

At S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Nick Fury, dressed in a black cloak, looked at the report in his hand.

His face became even more gloomy.

"Forty-seven gangsters killed in one night?"

"According to the evidence provided by the police, the other side appears to be a mutant."

Coulson, who was originally sacrificed, was resurrected by Nick Fury through a mysterious plan.

Now his duties included carrying out operations that S.H.I.E.L.D. had difficulty dealing with.

That is, dirty work.

"Mutants have been gone for a long time, the military's plan is cruel but very effective."

Nick Fury sighed.

Suddenly Coulson's face changed as he looked at a message on his phone and exclaimed in surprise:

"But Director, according to the latest news, the other side does not appear to be a mutant."

"Not a mutant? Then what else could it be, who else besides a mutant could do this?"

Nick Fury looked at Coulson distrustfully.

"It would be better if you saw it yourself." Coulson handed the phone to Nick.

"How is this possible!" Nick Fury looked at the black substance left by Jason.

"Those things in the blood mean....."

"He's been dead for a long time, and his body is rotting." Coulson said in a deep voice.

Nick Fury silently looked at the report in his hand, and suddenly fear rose in his heart.

A corpse was wandering Hell's Kitchen and killed forty-seven gangsters.

You could make a horror movie out of it!

"Quickly bring Natasha and Hill here. If it really is a corpse, then whatever is behind it..."

"Since he was able to revive one, he can revive a second, he must be found as soon as possible!"

"Understood." Coulson nodded.
