Lu Qi ignored his grandafther's shoutings and stepped out of the ward. He shut the door behind him and shook his head helplessly. He couldn't believe the old man would fake being sick just to make him come over. His lips curved into a smile when he remembered the old man whining at him, 'Lu Qi! Do you still consider me your grandfather? Would you have come to see me if I didn't pretend I was ill?'
Behind him, the nurses gathered and squealed as they watched him leave. That was Lu Qi! The true prince of the Lu family! He was the most suitable bachelor and had become something of a legend in city A. He was tall and lean with dark brown hair and a pair of phoenix eyes the colour of melted chocolate. His lips were full, offsetting the sharp angles created by his high cheekbones. He looked like a specially crafted ice sculpture. But when he smiled like he was doing now, the sculpture came to life, radiating warmth.
The nurses sighed. It was a pity such an handsome boy was still a teenager, they thought sadly.
Lu Qi ignored the eyes on him and strode out of the hospital. He avoided passing the front entrance of the hospital and went through the side entrance. The path went through the garden and as he walked, he admired the beautiful sceneries. No one knew that Lu Qi, the genius of the Lu family, was actually a secret painter and photographer. Even now, his hands itched for him to take up a pencil and recreate this scene in his notepad. He ignored this feeling, leaving the garden behind and approaching the front of the hospital.
Up ahead, he saw a few men racing in his direction wildly and a group of people gathered behind them. The scene looked chaotic. He stopped to observe and found they were all looking upwards at a particular section of the hospital. He followed their gazes and found a girl sitting there. Dressed in the green hospital gown with her black hair floating around her face from the heavy wind, a peaceful smile rested on her lips. Her eyes were calm, giving her an ethereal feel.
At that moment a pang hit Lu Qi's chest. He had never had a stronger urge to capture a scene before. The desire almost brought him to his knees. Beautiful. Too beautiful. His eyes gleamed as he stared. His tongue snaked out to wet his lips as he watched the girl. Every expression on her face was like a piece of art. The way the smile receded to leave behind a look of calmness, the way her lashes gently came down like two little pair of fans to seal those beautiful eyes away from sight. Her body movements as she let go of the window sill and dropped down. Too beautiful. Lu Qi could feel his heart beating faster.
The wind grew heavier as if heralding the girl's descent. With her arms spread as she fell and a small smile still on her lips, she looked like an angel.
Lu Qi stood under that window and watched as her body came closer and closer. If he stretched out his hands now, he would be able to catch her, hold that perfect beauty in his arms.....
Of course, Sara had calculated it well. She had been staring out the window at the Zhen family, watching them leave when she saw this boy approaching. She certainly wouldn't let go of this chance and decided to use this method to rattle the Zhen family and make them feel more guilty. In her calculations, she expected that boy to catch her if she jumped. And jump she did.
Sara closed her eyes as she fell and chanted in her heart, 'Come on boy! I'm counting on you!'
Unfortunately as Lu Qi saw that frail body approaching... He stepped out of the way and let her fall into a pile of bushes by the side. Looking at the girl that was entangled in the bushes gave him a sense of satisfaction. He stepped up to her and squatted down.
Sara opened her eyes angrily. Although her room was just on the second floor, not high enough to kill her, it could still break some of her bones! She saw someone come near; it was the idiot that was supposed to catch her!
"Why...?" Blood sputtered out of her mouth as she tried to talk.
Lu Qi rubbed the blood that seeped out unto her face. "Beautiful." He whispered. His eyes shone with a fanatical light. If only she was wearing a white dress, the contrast against the bushes would be more sharper, he thought sadly.
"Sara!" Derek ran over along with her brothers. His eyes on Lu Qi held a little blame. He had seen that boy close to his daughter. He could clearly have saved her but he decided to move out of the way! What an unfeeling boy! It was really like the rumours said. This Young Master of the Lu family was really coldhearted.
"Sara are you okay?" Yuchen asked hurriedly.
"I..." More blood dribbled down her mouth.
"Get the doctor!" Derek yelled at the bodyguards. They dispersed quickly while Derek reached out to hold his daughter.
"Don't worry Sara bear. You'll be fine." His tone had changed from the earlier tone of disgust to one of worry. He had even changed his address, calling her by her pet name.
Lu Qi looked at this family. So this was the famous Sara Zhen. They attended the same school and he had seen her around before but hadn't paid her any attention. What a pity...
He stood up. The doctors ran over and hurriedly placed her on a stretcher and wheeled her inside. Giving the girl one last look, he turned around and left.
Sara looked at his retreating back and almost died of anger. Not only did this punk fail to catch her, what was that look he just gave her? What was that fanatic gleam in his eyes? Sara had brothers who were obsessed with her so she understood what those eyes meant. That punk had taken an interest in her! His eyes held a promise of 'I will see you again'
How dare he! After letting her suffer from these new injuries, he still had the cheek to be interested in her! Just wait! If he came near her, she would put a bullet through his chest! No! His head would be a better shot! She was so aggravated that she spat out blood and fainted.
"Sara!"
