Old Chen looked at Sara through the review mirror. He had never seen someone change faces so quickly. Where was the smiling princess waving at the nurses just now?
But the Young Miss seemed to have changed a little. He examined her. She looked the same, but why did she give him a different feeling?
Unfortunately, he seemed to have stared too much as she suddenly turned to look at him. Even through the mirror the weight of those dark eyes hit him so hard. He felt like he was falling into a dark abyss, a sea of darkness, his soul was being swallowed up...
"Piiiiiiii!"
"Ahhh!" Old Chen brought the car to a stop. Just now, they would have died if it wasn't for the Young Miss reaching out to turn the steering, stopping them from colliding with a truck.
"Are you retarded?" Sara scolded angrily.
Old Chen shook like a baby.
"If not then do you plan to kill me? Did the Little Miss of the Zhen family bribe you already? Such devotion. You're even willing to die for her...."
"No! Young Miss it's not like that! I have no business with Miss Tara!"
Sara looked at the man shaking and shivering and lost interest in teasing him. "Drive." She spoke coldly. Ha, such a weak man! Even those nurses had more spine than him.
"Miss, we are home." Old Chen spoke carefully. He didn't know why but he felt genuinely terrified of the Young Miss now.
"Tsk. Really lives up to its reputation." Sara nodded satisfied. The mansion was huge, spanning miles and miles of land. The house gave off a majestic feeling, like it was welcoming it's daughter home.
"Not bad. This sleazy family still has some redeeming points." Sara smiled happily. Atleast they had money. She couldn't deal if she went from being the princess of the Arnold's family, to the daughter of a poor family. How would she be able to afford her toys then?
Butler Wang who came to welcome her heard her words and almost choked. "First Miss. Welcome back home." He managed to maintain his aloof face.
"Hmm." Sara nodded and walked past him. "Where are the parents?"
"Huh? Oh! Master and Madam are having dinner with Second Miss."
Sara stopped in her tracks. "Really?"
"Yes. First Miss, would you like to freshen up?" He tried to steer her upstairs.
"I would... But I suddenly find that I'm starving." Sara smiled slowly.
Butler Wang looked at the smile that didn't reach her eyes and felt a fear he had never felt before. "Miss..."
"Or am I now restricted from dining with the rest of them?"
"No, no." Butler Wang waved.
"Good. Let's go." Sara took the lead and walked into the house. Based on the Host's memory she headed for the dining room. A mocking smile rested on her lips when she heard the happy laughter coming from inside. What a joke. Her Oscar worthy performance didn't seem to have touched this family at all. That new daughter must be something. Sara's smile grew wider. Time to have fun!
The three people were seated at the long table having dinner happily. Behind them where a line of maids to attend to their every needs. They too were looking at the people eating with smiles on their faces.
"Master, Madam, Second Miss, First Miss is back!" Butler Wang rushed to announce her return.
The ambivalent mood was broken immediately.
Sara saw tears well up in Anna's eyes and could only roll her own. Was this woman made of water or something? What's this behavior of crying everytime?
"Sara bear, you're back." Derek had on a look of relief.
"Was I meant to stay there forever?" Sara couldn't hold back her sarcastic tongue.
"No, no... I... It's glad to see you're back."
"Yeah yeah." She waved her hand and focused her gaze on the girl sitting between Anna and Derek. She had light brown hair like Anna, and a very petite build. Her facial structure looked extremely similar to Anna.
Tsk. No wonder they recognized her as their daughter. Except... Was she really?
"Sister..." The girl took the initiative to say.
Sara smiled gayly. "This is wonderful! So white lotus you admit that you're lying?" Oops, she had forgotten the girl's name.
"What?" The girl was thrown off balance.
"Didn't you call me sister?" Sara narrowed her eyes.
"I did..."
"Then that means we share the same mother and your parents aren't Anna and Derek here. So that means you lied about being their daughter. Tell me what is your motive?"
"Sister, why would you say that. I was just..."
"Orrrr," Sara cut her off. "Derek here cheated with my mother which makes you my half sister so therefore we are related. I really didn't know he would have that kind of fetish though. Cheating on his beautiful wife with a woman that stole his children away. Well, I guess she must have been a beauty. You can tell just from looking at me." She gave Tara a disdainful glare. "Your father just had to be him. Now look at how you look. Like a pair of defected goods. You're just wasting my mother genes. Sigh, such a pity. My mother must have been really brave and bold. She even gave us matching names, like twins. Sigh..." She gave Anna a pitying look. "Raising the two children of the woman that stole your children. I can't imagine your pain."
The whole room was silent. Butler Wang had his mouth hanging open as he tried to breathe. This... What had gotten into the Young Miss?
Derek was so angry his face turned red. "You ungrateful brat!"
"Seems it true then." Sara lost interest in them. Instead the aroma of the food on the table drew her attention. "Look at that, it seems to be braised meat." She pulled out a chair and sat down. "Pretty sister." She called to the maid beside her. "Please get me a pair of chopsticks." She blinked cutely.
"Oh? Yes, yes." The maid was mesmerized. She ran to fetch the cutleries and placed it in front of Sara.
"Thank you." With that Sara settled down and began to eat.
Everyone stared at the culprit of the tense atmosphere. She seemed to be enjoying her food very much. Butler Wang's lips twitched.
"Sister, how could you say that about mum and dad. You're being disrespectful." Tara cried out pitifully.
"You're the one being disrespectful." Sara dropped her chopsticks. "Why would you acknowledge another woman as your mother?"
"I didn't!"
"Then why did you call me sister?"
"Enough." Derek slammed the table. "What is you the problem with you two?" He stared angrily at Sara. "How could you say such words?"
"How could she say such words?" She pointed at Tara. She stared at Derek head-on.
"I'm sorry." Tara took the initiative to apologize. "I should not have called you sister. I... I just wanted to be friendly, after all you've helped me a lot. I never knew you would react so harshly to it. If you don't like it I'll call you First Miss." She bit her lips sadly.
The maids around looked at her with pity. This damn First Miss! Second Miss just wanted to be friendly yet she was bullying her!
Sara leaned back. A sly smile hung on her lips. "Don't bother calling me First Miss. After all, your Zhen family has only you in it."
Tara smiled smugly internally. She didn't know why this fool was suddenly so eloquent but at least now she knows her place.
Sara saw the gleam in the white lotus' eyes and grinned. "Just call me....
"Grandfather!"
