Chapter 23 - Tier 2 Psychic Plants

Clark was ecstatic, feeling a surge of excitement rush to his head. Although there was only one word of difference between Tier 1 psychic plants and Tier 2, the effects were worlds apart.

In his past life, it had been a full three years since he had seen any information about Tier 2 psychic plants, and that single piece of information had triggered a frantic scramble among dozens of Tier 2 awakened individuals in the Eastern Battle Zone. It had ultimately been obtained by a top-tier Tier 2 awakened individual, at the cost of the lives of over a thousand of his subordinates. Clark didn't have time to ponder why a Tier 2 psychic plant had appeared here of all places.

Without hesitation, Clark swallowed it whole. A strong surge of warmth rushed through him from the moment it entered his mouth. The violet plant, which had melted upon contact, turned into a fiery line that shot into his body.

Clark let out a muffled groan, feeling a sudden pain in his limbs. It was the manifestation of psychic modification on his body. As a large amount of psychic energy surged within him, a powerful force welled up from his lower abdomen.

"Ding! Swallowed Tier 2 psychic plant. Gained +2 Strength, +1 Agility, +1 Constitution, +1 Willpower."

"Ding! Gained Tier 2 Psychic Plant Exclusive Enhancement: 10% increase in explosive power."

"Ding! Gained Tier 2 Psychic Plant Exclusive Strengthening: 10% increase in movement speed."

After the enhancement, Clark was drenched in sweat, his eyes burning with excitement as he looked at the constantly refreshing screen. It was truly incredible! It was worthy of being a Tier 2 psychic plant. In addition to the substantial attribute bonuses, it also had rare additional effects.

A 10% increase in explosive power meant that he could deliver attacks that exceeded the limits of his strength attribute. Movement speed was also extremely important in the apocalypse game, as it determined whether you could escape danger in the face of life and death. With these two formidable additional effects, he felt an inexhaustible power surging within him.

Of course, Clark knew that this was just an illusion that came with his sudden increase in strength. To test it out, he raised his right fist and struck the air. Boom! A crisp explosion sounded as his fist broke the sound barrier, creating a brief vacuum explosion. Inside the small flower shop, objects were lifted by the shockwave.

Clark's target had been the thick wall, and with a single punch, the concrete and steel-reinforced wall was instantly pierced, revealing the street outside.

"Gulp." The shop owner swallowed hard. Her eyes widened, and her mouth could fit an egg. When Clark had been killing zombies, she had crouched down by the window and carefully observed how he moved his hands. She had even witnessed the scene of Clark killing the last zombie. Now, seeing Clark punch through a cement wall, she couldn't help but be shocked. Was he still a human? He was terrifying. She cautiously shrank her neck, afraid that Clark might notice her.

Lynn was also somewhat surprised. She knew how capable Clark was, but now it seemed that he had become even stronger than before, leaving her amazed. She didn't say a word .

Clark withdrew his right fist, and there was not a single mark on his fair-skinned knuckles, only a faint red imprint. His enhanced constitution had also increased his resistance to damage. Now, even if he stood still and let Lynn strike him, she probably wouldn't be able to kill him.

With his newfound strength, Clark gradually felt himself leaning towards becoming something non-human. "Roar!" Suddenly, a large number of footsteps could be heard outside the shop, accompanied by the fierce growls of zombies.

Clark looked up and peered through the hole he had created. Outside the shop, there was a dark mass, and pairs of blood-red, savage eyes.

"Ah! Monsters..." The shop owner let out a cry of horror, which further agitated the zombies, causing them to madly rush toward the shelves piled up at the entrance, It seemed like she is frightened.

The shop owner, moving faster than her overweight appearance would suggest, darted toward the stairs while keeping a careful eye on Clark, who had become a living nightmare. The door was locked from the inside, and there were sounds of heavy objects being moved behind it. It seemed that she intended to block the door.

Lynn blinked slightly, feeling somewhat speechless. She instinctively held onto Clark's arm with her right hand. She sighed softly, looking at the closed door on the second floor with a pitying gaze.

In her opinion, the flower shop owner had undoubtedly made the wrong choice upon seeing the zombies. Running away on her own and locking the door, thinking that would guarantee her survival? No, the real path to survival was to follow Clark.

"Let's go!" Clark paid no attention to the flower shop owner's actions; he had seen this kind of thing many times in his past life. After a quick glance, he estimated that there were at least four hundred zombies on the street outside.

Without hesitation, Clark picked up Lynn and started moving. Lynn, who weighed less than a hundred pounds, felt weightless in his arms given his current strength.

Clark took a deep breath, his eyes sharpening. Power surge! A faint golden light flashed and disappeared into his body. His muscles, which had been tense, bulged as if they were exploding.

This was the first time Clark had activated his talent after the enhancement, and he felt as if time had slowed down. The zombies outside, rushing towards the shelves, appeared to move in slow motion in his eyes.

Boom! Like a small missile, Clark unleashed a powerful kick that sent the half-ton shelves, along with dozens of crowded zombies, flying. Metal deformed, and they were sent flying ten meters away. In an instant, the zombies that had crowded the shop's entrance were temporarily cleared.

Clark let out a low roar and, bending at the waist, carried Lynn horizontally like an arrow released from a bowstring. Ten meters in one step! He shot out of the encirclement in an instant, and the other zombies didn't even have time to react; they could only roar as they watched Clark recede into the distance.

However, with the continuous sounds echoing in the area, more and more zombies gathered at the outskirts of the city. The small clearing that Clark had created was once again filled with zombies. Beneath the tiny flower shop, there were soon over a thousand zombies gathered.

From the window on the second floor of the flower shop, the shop owner stuck her head out and saw the street almost filled with zombies, her gaze vacant.

The motorcycle roared to life, and Lynn tightly hugged Clark around the waist.

"Clark, where are we going now?"

For some reason, even though they had only known each other for a few hours, Lynn felt as if they had known each other for a long time. It was strange; there was a sense of familiarity about Clark.

"To the city center," Clark replied calmly, but there was a hint of anticipation in his eyes. With his newfound strength, he should be able to retrieve some of the equipment from his past memories, including a top-tier item located on the outskirts of the city center.

Further into the city center, there were at least a million zombies and a large number of Tier 1 mutated creatures. He had originally planned to enter the city on the fifth day, but now, he could consider changing his plans.

Clark's power had exceeded his best expectations, and he had even received the unexpected benefit of poison resistance. As long as he didn't provoke large groups of zombies, with both advantages combined, he felt he had gained an additional measure of confidence out of thin air.

"[Skullcrusher's Hand]."

"The only blue-grade equipment in LJ City during the apocalypse!"
