⟨Cat's eyes⟩, a common night vision spell that was considered vital for anyone who's an adventurer or explorer.
Using this spell also enhances your vision enabling you to zoom in on your targets, an that was exactly was Snakeblade did
Chhan :" Richard? {Is it one of her party members? }"
With the spell she saw the rugged Richard who was running at them with wounds on his body, a cut on his shoulder, a right eye that was black from getting hit ,more over his light steel armour was wrecked and he was sweating like a beast as he ran with clear exhaustion
It seemed that he had been running non stop
" The swordsman? (Was puzzled) "
{ Did he climb down that cliff to look for her ?}(looks at Snakeblade who looked like she was having mixed feelings)
Snakeblade wasn't an idiot, she could clearly understand how and why her swordsman party member must be in such a state, that's the impression I had of her atleast,
{ I hope she doesn't fight him ,he seems to be a good friend in a way atleast }
Back in my home state ,a good friend was sought out more than a fortune enough to buy a mountain, so I truly hoped that Snakeblade wouldn't just charge at him in blind rage and to my relief she didn't

She was happy, even a dense guy like me could see that, seeing that she wasn't completely betrayed, she seemed greatly relieved
Richard :" (could finally see who were upfront properly through his eyes that were tired and hurt){T..thank God, she's alive}" Snakeblade!! Hey!! (Trips) Uaah!! "
Snakeblade ran to him with enhanced steps that seemed to be a spell and appeared next to Richard and grabbed the rugged swordsman before he reached the ground
Richard tightened his hold on her
" Thank God, I thought you died! "
He was honestly happy, having made his way down the cliff he saw traces of their footprints and followed them down and then saw the trace of their battle with the spider monkeys and lost their track there, he actually thought they died for a moment, but he didn't gave up, he atleast wanted to search for 2 days more and pressed forward,and that was where he encountered another group of monsters, kobolds and goblins, a total of 8 with 5 goblins and 3 kobolds, he got his injuries there ,and come out alive, and then went forward, and as the sun setted he planned to lay down and rest for the night but at the moment he sat down ,to his fortune he saw footprints,the same ones he did and made his way here to them, to his friend
Snakeblade felt a bit uncomfortable about this but in a bad way, it was just that she could hear Saved chuckling at this sight but she didn't push Richard away
" I thought you all wanted me dead ? ".
" I didn't, Balthan did, (moved back as he late her go now and looked at her in her eyes that still seems to carry some doubt) Why the hell would I get down here if I did ? I'm rather offended , you know much I cherish childhood love right? "
" ....(//// ////) (Snakeblade blushed and looked away) I already told you before! I only see you as a friend!! "
" (Smiles slyly) Why are you so red then?

Not being able to take his teasing anymore she punch him in his gut
" Aarrg ...(fell down ) I'm injured you know? "(Richard)

Chhan :"(ಠ👄ಠ) Are you 2 done now? "
They both looked at him
Chhan :"(felt so done with this shit) Sorry if you're not but I feel horribly single watching this ,so please get it over with "
Snakeblade :" OH FUCK YOU ! "

Spending the remaining night, Snakeblade explained their circumstances and plans to Richard who drank his own potion ,his last one to be exact and ate a piece of dried boat meat from Chhan who have it to him without much reluctance
Seeing his apparent kindness ,Richard felt horrible about thier previous actions, especially considering that it was only due to Chhan that his FRIEND survived Lily's fire spell
Snakeblade :" And that's how we got this far, we'll continue till we find out way back to a town or the main road "
Richard :" I see ,it might take a while though considering how isolated this region is "
They both deliberated how they would move and hunt in order to stay alive, but one person had another thought about this
Chhan :" .... Can't we just climb back up ? "
{ It finally dawned to me} " If you can just catch to us after climbing down, isn't it possible to climb back up "
Snakeblade:" We can't "
Chhan :" Why? If you're friend can climb down within a day can't we climb back up? ".
Richard :" You misunderstand Mr Saved , I only climb down to a certain extent "
Chhan frowned for a moment and asked
" What do you mean? "
Richard sighs as he remembered somethat he apparently didn't find pleasant
" I fell down as I got attacked by a group of Skysnakes , I thought I would die there but to my luck there was a lake down there (his displeasure of remembering his fall disappeared as a serious atmosphere replaced it)—,the sky around the dark forest is one of the most dangerous skies in the continent, climbing back up is suicide, Skysnakes are only one of the threats here, since you are new to this profession I'll tell you this — Do not ever go into this forest unless you want to die — That's how dangerous this place is "
Snakeblade :" It's as Richard said, you have to be atleast a 4th class to even dare enter this place , we're only 8th class and you, hmm your definitly 8th class too I guess, we can only hope nothing comes out of it when we make our way towards — "

That was the only thing they could use to describe what they felt as they heard the earth shaking roar that came from within the forest, luckily the roar died down and nothing came out but no one dared to utter a word or move for a whole minute
