Captain Maguire suddenly fell froze as though in a trance. All of a sudden he was not on the bridge of the Sandawana. He found himself transported to a space where he could not feel himself in any form. It was as though his mind was detached from his body, he felt as though his consciousness floating suspended somewhere in space. It was as though he was locked in his own head.
He heard admiral Gwangwa's voice explode into his consciousness. He heard it quite clear as daylight, urging, "Captain, an alien strike force is coming to attack the mountain. I am inside that mountain with friends. You will contact Space command and pass my order that the fleet should enter the portal that will open to this dimension. The fleet must prevent the alien strike force from launching a massive bombardment of the mountain".
The crew were frantically trying to revive captain Maguire who seemed to have gone into some stupor of some sort. He had suddenly stopped speaking while in the midst of ordering the crew to ready the starship for battle. The crew had noticed the strange behaviour during which he seemed unable to acknowledge their presence nor do anything else.
"I hear you, admiral ", confirmed captain Maguire in his thoughts. But how is this possible...?"
"There is no time to go into details, the aliens command structure has massed starships in pack formation. They will soon be at my position.
You must stop them before they can launch a massive attack", concluded admiral Gwangwa.
Captain Maguire was quiet again as he spoke to admiral Gwangwa with his thoughts, "admiral".
Captain Maguire spoke quietly with his thoughts in the vacuum of his mind.
"Yes captain", admiral Gwangwa's voice replied.
"Help us to send a transmission to Space command".
"Very well", said admiral Gwangwa with his thoughts, as he linked his hands with the elders. They focussed their combined consciousness to open a portal to Earth through which the transmission from the Sandawana was able to go out to Space command.
"It is done", admiral Gwangwa's voice gently exploded with satisfaction into captain Maguire's consciousness, "it is done".
"Captain, ship's sensors are picking up heavy traffic fast approaching, they seem to be a large number of starships approaching a tight mass formation".
"Where exactly are they?", captain Maguire asked.
"They are on a direct collision course with us captain", replied lieutenant Tanaka at communications.
"It's the alien strike force", said captain Maguire almost to himself.
"Captain, incoming transmission from vice admiral Nyathi", reported lieutenant Tanaka.
"On screen", ordered captain Maguire.
The giant computer monitor came alive and the image of vice admiral Nyathi appeared on the screen.
"Good to see you again captain", vice admiral Nyathi greeted.
"Has the fleet entered entered the portal?", asked captain Maguire flatly with a sense of urgency.
"Captain, the portal is unstable and too small even for one starship to go through.
Let alone an entire fleet of starships".
"Wait", captain Maguire said and slumping back into his high backed commander's sea. He let his mind drift to the inner peace somewhere in his conscience and projecting his thoughts began to communicate, "Admiral, the deep space fleet is waiting on the other side of the portal. But they are unable to enter, the portal is not large enough".
"My senses merge into yours I will see as you see, hear as you hear", admiral Gwangwa's voice burst gently into captain Maguire's consciousness.
Captain Maguire relaxed his mind. Through admiral Gwangwa's senses, the elders sitting in the cavern with their hands linked, minds joined with captain Maguire's aboard the Sandawana, saw the starships of Space command's deep space fleet on the other side of the open portal fluctuating in size.
"Captain, alien fleet within range and closing", lieutenant Tanaka sitting a the communications console, reported with a sense of urgency in his tone.
Admiral Gwangwa also heard lieutenant Tanaka's report as did the elders.
"Those ships will soon be in a position to strike the mountain", admiral Gwangwa projected his thoughts within the collective consciousness of the elders sitting in the cavern.
Commander Tulac's consciousness projected itself into the collective consciousness. It began addressing Sanse, "brother, my starship the Sharada is approaching your mountain. More Shaduha shadow ships are close behind in tight pack formation. I will buy you time to evacuate from the mountain".
"What do you intend to do?", asked Sanse communicating with his thoughts.
"The Sharada is between the strike force and your mountain. They will wait for me to move of out the way before they will not fire on a Shadua shadow starship. I will delay them for as long as I can while you escape", Tulac communicated with his thoughts.
"It is not necessary for you to risk your life brother. I am communicating with starships on the other side of a portal that is opening to Earth".
"It is well brother but your starships from Earth are yet to cross over into Shaduha dimension. Shadua shadow starships are already here. I will not move the Shdarada out of the path of the strike force, otherwise you will die brother", Tulac replied.
"Then you will die, brother", Sanse gently communicated with his thoughts.
"If I must die it is for a greater cause, it is for the restoration of Shadua shadow in the role we played in ancient times. That of securing Earth realm and all the dimensions within it including Shaduha safe from extra-terrestrial violence. The desire to spare my life can not be allowed to outweigh the survival of the many", communicated commander Tulac from the bridge of the Sharada .
"I understand", quietly communicated Sanse with his thoughts.
"Captain pass my order to the other Deep space fleet captain's to relax their minds, tell them you are acting under my authority", admiral Gwangwa communicated with his thoughts to captain Maguire. "We shall send them co-ordinates they are to use to fire with everything they have in their starships weapons systems through the portal".
