Chapter 1 - The Unknown

I knew I shouldn't have asked for his help but I did. I knew I shouldn't have run away but I did. Now I am hiding in a dark alley at the back door of a pub and jumping at the slightest sound I hear. My heart hasn't had a stretch of relieve since I hid here, knowing he could pop out at any second and grab me. I should have known he was going to come for me after I didn't pick their call for two days. I didn't have what he wanted that's why I didn't pick but he wouldn't have listened to my bloody excuse, This is what happens when you look for help from the wrong people.

With every staff that comes out of this pub I am scared it's him. The crates are serving as a shield for me as they hide me from whoever might see me. My legs are hurting from my crouched position and if I don't adjust them soon I think I might just go crazy. With my mouth in my heart I go ahead to readjust my position and immediately I do so, relieve floods body.

"There she is ''his sickly sweet voice echoes in the alley, My eyes widen in shock and fear as my eyes land on him. The smile on his face does nothing to ease me, because I knew who he was.The two men with him grab each of my arms in place so I cannot escape, the fear on my face is evident because he laughs loudly at the sight of it, making me want to gag. I always knew death was inevitable but I never thought mine was going to come this early.

His men drag me away from the alley and I know better than to shout here, if I do no one would come to my rescue, he owned this part of town and I'll be doing more harm than good for myself. So instead I silently plead and cry for him to let me go telling him I'll pay for everything I owe. My pleadings fall on deaf ears as I am still being dragged.

"Tie her up" he instructs his men and they follow his word, I am in a state of panic as I struggle to break free from their hold, "please let me go, I promise I'll pay every penny in less than a month" my cry is useless as they tie my hands, feet and duck tape my mouth, I am hauled into the boot of a car.

Tears stream down my face, as I struggle to break from the ropes, my wrist is becoming bruised with my fight to come loose, the car jerks to a stop and my heart skips a beat, my end has come.

If only my dad didn't have to die, if only mum's health didn't deteriorate then I wouldn't be in this situation. I wouldn't be in the hands a gang leader because of some miserly sum of money, but here I am. I don't regret getting the money from him, I'll do anything for my mother to be alive and well, I love her too much to let anything happen to her.

I am dragged out of the car and my blind folds are taken off, "No one runs away with my money sweet peas" he whispers into my ears. He punches me right in the stomach and the wind is knocked right out of me, my ears are ringing due to the pain I'm feeling. I was never abused as a child and this is all new to me, this level of physical pain is a new experience.

The first punch he gave me was nothing compared to the ones coming now, I think I am slipping into unconsciousness or am I already unconscious, I don't know, this is the first time I am getting beat up and I don't even know if it'll be the last cause I don't even know how I'll raise the money.

He stops punching me and I am relieved, but this relieve doesn't last long as I raise my head and see him watching me like a hawk, "you're too pretty for this my sweet peas, I'll rather have fun with you than hit you" he tells me and my heart stops beating for a split second, because I know exactly what he means by that. He stretches his hand towards me as he removes the hair that has clung to my face, I can't help but flinch from his touch, he booms with laughter at my reaction.

I've never been touched by a man before, gods, I haven't even had a boyfriend before and here I am about to be defiled by this gang leader people call crazy patrick, my tears spill from my eyes uncontrollably. He should just kill me now because I'll rather die than let my pride be taken in this manner.

"Boss you got a call" one of his men tell him. He looks at me with no emotion on his face for a while before he grabs the phone from the man and walks away from me. I am breathing heavily with every thing that has happened, I silently pray to which ever supreme being that can hear me for rescue.

"Ain't you a lucky one", he calls out to me as he pulls his blond hair to the back. My spine stands erect at his voice " Well sweet peas I got some business to tend to and this business is a good one, so in the spirit of good things I am going to let you go" he smiles sinisterly at me, I'm not sure if he is serious or joking because I've heard he's a psychopath by some, but my blood shot eyes just stare at him in disbelieve.

"There's a catch sweet peas", he whispers as he rubs my face with his callous hands, "you're going to pay me my money with double interest for making me run chase today, if not I'll not just kill you, I'll kill your sweet mother and your fiesty best friend and I'll make sure you watch, then I'll have my way with you," he rubs my arm in a slow pace as he tells me this. My blood runs cold at his words.

"Let her go" he tells his men, They nod their head in response and they untie me. He turns away without giving me a second glance as he drives off. The pain in my body makes it difficult for me to stand up, but I manage to. a leaping away as fast as I can.
