Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: The Mirror of Erised

From the beginning of the match until now, Hufflepuff's mentality has been shattered. Finally, in the 21st minute after the start of the match, Akihisa seized the Golden Snitch, ending this one-sided duel.

At the moment when Akihisa caught the Snitch, cheers erupted from the Ravenclaw stands, hundreds of fireworks soared into the sky, creating a joyful atmosphere. However, the Hufflepuff stands on the opposite side fell into a dead silence.

Some young wizards from Gryffindor and Slytherin also applauded, but the faces of the captains of the two teams were not good. In their view, even if their own teams were facing this fast-paced offense, they would lose.

The two frowned, contemplating how to deal with Ravenclaw's new tactics.

Tom jumped off the broom and embraced his teammates one by one. Then, he stood in front of the stands, enjoying the cheers of his classmates.

Tom put on the [Rookie] title and found that there didn't seem to be much change, unlike the [Baskerville Hound] title before. That one had instantly enhanced Tom's sense of smell, but unfortunately, at that time, a wizard sitting in front of him happened to fart...

After that incident, Tom never wore that title again. However, [Rookie] seemed to have neither positive nor negative effects, so he just kept wearing it.

After the match, it was time for lunch. When Tom finished his meal and walked back to the locker room, he suddenly felt like changing his route. This time, Tom followed the voice inside—resulting in him getting lost.

"Where is this?" Tom tried to identify the surrounding classrooms and decorations.

[Achievement Unlocked: Essential Attribute of the Dark Lord Entangled Fate +1]

This achievement made Tom annoyed: System, are you trying to be cryptic with me? But since the introduction of the UP Pool, the system seemed to have become more generous. Before, it was all about rewarding magic stones, but now it directly gave Entangled Fate. The welfare did seem a bit better.

However, the problem now was that he was lost. Tom could only barely recognize that he was on the fifth floor of Hogwarts Castle. Like a headless fly, he pushed open one door after another, trying to find a way out.

In the end, he pushed open a door, and behind it was an abandoned classroom. Desks and chairs were piled haphazardly in the corner, but in the center, facing the door, there was something that didn't match the room at all: an exceptionally ornate mirror. The mirror was about the height of the ceiling, supported at the bottom by two claw-shaped feet. The top of the golden mirror frame was engraved with a line of inscriptions: "Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi."

"I show not your face but your heart's desire," Tom said, squinting at the mirror.

"Tom, didn't expect to meet you here." An elderly voice came from behind Tom. Tom turned around, and like a startled cat, he looked to where the voice came from. It was Professor Albus Dumbledore, sitting on a small round stool in the corner.

"Professor, I didn't notice just now—"

"It's okay," Dumbledore stood up, walked to Tom, "it seems like you, like many mischievous predecessors, have discovered the secret of the Mirror of Erised."

"It shows my inner desire, right?" Tom nodded, looking at the mirror.

Dumbledore nodded slightly and said softly, "It shows the most urgent and intense desires deep within people. However, this mirror cannot teach us knowledge or help us predict the future. People waste time in front of it, obsessed with what they see, and even are driven mad. So, child, I don't want to see you in front of this mirror again."

Tom nodded.

"So, Tom, when you looked into the magic mirror, what did you see?" Dumbledore glanced at the mirror, then looked away, asking Tom.

"As for me, I saw someone giving me money. During dinner, I even got a coin stuck in my teeth. Professor, what about you?" Tom blinked.

"I? I saw myself holding a pair of thick woolen socks. Socks are never enough to wear. Christmas comes and goes, but I never received a pair of socks." Dumbledore replied.

Tom: Okay, I really believe it.

Tom had no intention of leaving; he looked at Dumbledore, "Professor, I want to find a book suitable as a gift. Do you have any recommendations?"

Dumbledore took off his glasses, wiped them with his robe, and after wiping them, he flipped his hand, and there was a somewhat dilapidated book on it, with spotted

and peeling spots. Surprisingly, the cover was in runic.

"You can take a look at this book. Don't worry; although it's runic on the cover, the inside is in English." Dumbledore handed the almost falling-apart book to Tom.

"Thank you, Professor!" Tom bowed slightly to Dumbledore. He was about to leave the abandoned classroom but was stopped by Dumbledore.

"Tom, if you want to design a few levels, how would you do it?"

"Design levels?" Tom turned around with a puzzled expression, "I have a few ideas, Professor. If you're willing to listen, I'll tell you. However, implementation might be a bit difficult."

Dumbledore smiled and nodded, completely ignoring technical issues—Professor McGonagall could even make chess pieces play chess automatically, so what couldn't be achieved? He conjured a piece of paper and a pen, letting Tom describe his ideas on it. As Tom wrote, Dumbledore stood behind him, and his expression became more and more surprised: unexpectedly, these levels were quite interesting. He even wanted to play them after they were done—no, test them several times.

After Tom finished writing, he handed the parchment to Dumbledore and then left the classroom. This time, Dumbledore didn't stop him. As if on a whim, Tom had an inexplicable urge to draw a card—would being closer to Dumbledore increase the chance of drawing one? Anyway, the guarantee was inherited; drawing a few wouldn't hurt.

This impulse was attributed to Tom as a whim, possibly stemming from his superb divination talent.

So, he stood at the door, opened the wishing interface, and made a wish.

One draw, blue.

Two draws, blue.

Three draws, gold.

Well, it's just a waste... What? Tom was stunned. With excitement, he watched as the cutscene ended, and an old man holding up one hand appeared in front of him.

It was Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore.
