Early in the morning he went to Jonas
"Any news"
"I am sorry but I have searched everywhere for her and she's no where to be found"
"She has to be somewhere"
For a week he had been searching for her nonstop
"Aidan what if she's ..."
"No no!! She's still alive"
"How do you know"
"Because I am still breathing, she's alive but she's in trouble we have to find her"
his head started spinning till he couldn't handle it again and fainted when he woke up he saw Jonas
"Jonas, Lena! let's help her" he said
"Relax I will look for her but you need to take care of yourself" Jonas said
"No we have to look for her" he said and tried to get up and despite talk for him to stay he was discharged
A week passed and still they couldn't find her,
Jonas went to Don
"Where's lena? We were going to pay you"
"I don't know where she's, even my men are looking for her"
"What?? But they were the ones after her"
Don asked his men to find lena
"When are we going to tell Don we killed that girl"
"Shut up he's going to kill us if he finds out we killed her, let's just play along"
"Who are those people?" Aidan asked
"The other time you asked what issue we were talking about, Lena owes them, for almost ten years she has been paying that debt"
"Is that why she was always running"
"Yes. Aidan those people are not friendly at all"
"How did Lena get involved with such people and almost ten years debt, how much was the amount that she had to use more than ten years to pay or wasn't it all just about money Was she involved in other things?"
"Don't doubt her, if you hear her story then you can decide to judge her or pity her"
Jonas asked him to follow him, they went to her house.
"This house has so many memories, the happy memories and painful ones too"
Lena also has a past that was filled with pain too
Lena's father and Jonas were best friends in school, so many dreams and aspirations as they graduated from college, Lena's father got a job and then got married to Mariah, she was his crush since high school and he was her first love too, they envisioned a happy fulfilled life and even more when Lena was born.
They were the happiest, Steve Lena's father gave his all to his family and the company he worked for, Lena was raised with love and her parents wanted so much more for her
Everything was perfect but then life's not perfect
the company her father worked for abandoned him after he got hurt at the company because of management carelessness, he was lying between life and death, things became difficult for them her mother was taken care of his hospital bills and her Lena. Mariah was not willing to give up on her husband
"I can't live without my husband, I can't…. Lena can't grow up without her father, I will do everything for him to get better" Mariah said
The more she tried things weren't getting better, things became more complicated because of the hospital bills she was all alone in this, the company had abandoned Steve.
Mariah had to take care of Lena's school bills and other expenses too and her salary was not even enough for it although she had taken other jobs it was still not enough
Mariah decided to visit the company and threaten to tell the world what they do to their employees, how they treat them and how they never gave her husband a compensation and just replaced him, they promised to call her and settle the matter but One day when she and lena returned home some men were in their house and the place was a messy.
one held lena at a gun point and threatened her, Mariah pleaded with them to spare lena and in return promised she wasn't going to go on with her plans of protesting against the company and they did let Lena go
"You saved your daughter what about your husband at the hospital" the guy said and left laughing
"Lena wait here for me"
Mariah had to rush to the hospital, she was scared but when she got there Steve was still alive
"Next time you won't be lucky do make sure to keep your promise" another man walked up to her said that and left
She fell on her knees, she had to go home and take care of Lena too
"Somebody help me, I can't do this all alone" Mariah said
She went home
Things became too difficult when she was fired because of the connection of the company her husband worked for
She became desperate and started borrowing from Don, whom she heard of from a colleague at her previous workplace to pay her husband's bills and take care of Lena
Don kept on giving her money because of the huge interest he was placing on it and because Mariah was desperate she didn't oppose,
"Once Steve becomes alright, we will find a way to pay, his life is more important now" Mariah kept on saying
the debt became too much and the interest was so much, her mother tried everything possible and the worse part was the person she was trying so hard for left her
