Aurora arrived in the kitchen and leaned against the counter, her head spinning and..."hic!" She couldn't stop the hiccups. "What's wrong with me?" she asked herself, holding out the candle to illuminate her path.
She grabbed a glass from the cupboard, her hands trembling slightly. She filled it with water from a jug, her mind racing. She took a long drink, the cool water soothing her dry throat. But still, the hiccups continued, each one more frustrating than the last. She felt like she was losing control, like she was being consumed by the sensations inside her.
Then she noticed a spark of light in the corner of her eye. Looking down, she saw the lit candle still in her hand, its flame dancing wildly in the draft of air.
