"Aurora, are you okay?" Adrian spoke louder this time, his voice piercing through the haze. But Aurora could barely register his words. The world around her felt foggy and distant, like a dream she couldn't quite shake. As she tried to rub the strange mark on her skin, a feeling of dread crept up her spine. She was losing control of her body, and the sensation was spreading fast.
Ignoring Adrian's worried and confused expression, Aurora quickly got up from where she sat. She was muttering words, but none of them made sense, even to herself. All she knew was that she couldn't let Adrian see her like this. Without hesitation, she ran in the direction she had come from.
