The duke roared as soon as he saw Rivienne when he barged into the guest room. His earlier dazzling had gone, and his true age was taking over him. Rivienne glanced at her father nonchalantly, flapping her fan as if her roots tangled with the legs of the table and the chair. "I was here, father. Why are you shouting?" She asked. "You are scaring the maids,"
"What?" The duke was bewildered. "Were you alone?" He watched the maid pouring tea for Rivienne and the other servants, serving as if nothing happened. Did she threaten these people?
"I wanted to be alone," She said. "I heard what happened. Is Silly dead?"
