Chapter 5 - Tears From The Bookshelf

It had been three days since the night Flint witnessed Marie's curse in one way being set in motion, but he was in curiosity and constant question of if she will escape and be loose. He cared for her dearly but knew that for the time being, Se had no intentions of loving anybody.

Marie has been her normal self since that day and barely spoke about it, especially to Flint.

Since that day, Flint has been trying to read the books from the basement bookshelf, trying to find cures to fix this illness she clearly possesses. everytime he was down there, he swore he could here crying and muffled voices emitting from the other side of the bookshelf. But every time he had come feeling the itch to figure out what it was, Byron would also be downstairs letting him know that he shouldn't be down there and makes him leave.

Boy, did Flint not like Byron, something seemed off about him and how he treats Marie as if she is a ghost and seems to ignore her very presence. Other days, he tries to ask her rather personal questions, like how much she liked it there, in the Cabin, ore what her wrist size was.

It all seemed to bother Flint until one night, he finally came to a head.

--------------

Flint was asleep trying to piece together what he must do with the information he could gatehr from the books but it all sounded like complete jargon to him. All he gathered that sounded logical was to Kill the person how put this curse on her, or just find a ritual Master that could perform a spell on her and temporarily cure her. but he doubts them highly.

He woke up still annoyed that he couldn't find a accurate cure for Marie.

He went down to the basement only to hear more crying from the other side of the bookshelf and he finally had enough and pushed the bookshelf to the other side of the basement, causing a ruckus....waking Marie and Byron up from their slumber.

Flint saw a vault door and didn't hear any more crying.

Using only pure muscle, he turned the vault door open and opened it to see something truly sickening.

Inside was a small dark, lantern lit room with a small dresser and a bed.

Attached to each of the corners was a woman, of various ethnicities, handcuffed to a side of it with belt marks on there faces and scraggly hair. They were clearly upset and scared for anything to happen.

They stared at Flint, there eyes begging him to help them and he couldn't figure out what was facing his eyes until they gasped at something behind Flint.

"Like my Collection?"

Flint turned around to see Byron, holding a Shotgun, pointed towards Flints face.

"Before i kill you, i must let you know, that you were told to stay out of the basement".

Byron cocked the gun.

Suddenly, a arrow pierced through Byron, right through the heart, Stunning Byron and making him spit out blood.

Byron shakingly turned around to see that Marie had her bow facing and ready to shoot another.

"I ain't your prey no more" she snarled as Byron collapsed on the floor and jerked a few times before staying still.

Marie and Flint stared at each other and with eyes he said "thank you" to her.

They both remembered the real issue and turned around and buried to the four chained women.

One of the girls,A African American, pointed at Byrons corpse and said very quietly to him but just enough to hear her:

"His keys are in the bag".

She had a strong accent of a tribal member but still spoke somewhat fluent English. She had a tall figure, even though she was sitting down and had on a black shirt that hugged her generous D breasts and Blue shorts that showed her bubbly ass.

Flint turned and felt around the dead man's pockets and felt a small pocket bag in there.

He pulled it out and showed it's true look.

It was a small teal pocket bag and had a gold string attached.

He opened it and looked in to reveal a pitch black abyss. He reached in and felt a bunch of stuff in there.

He finally felt a ring of four keys and pulled it out.

The girls all were staring at the dragonborn as if he was there savior.

He unlocked the African American woman, much to stubborn delight. Her name was Tasha.

Flint gave Marie two of the keys to unlock the two girls on her side.

Flint unlocked the cuff that held a small woman that was wearing a ragged hoodie, as if trying to hide the shame of what they went through, and black pants that had blood spots that appeared from her broken nose.

She was holding a small rat in a cigar box that had the name "Ramone" in it. Her name was Rhonda.

She was scared to be touched as evident by here struggles as Flint tried to lift her up into a standing position.

Marie unlocked the girl closest to her, who was of royal descent by her tattoo that Marie vaguely knew who she was looking at.

It was the Missing Princess Victoria of Donague.

She knew this because of the newspapers Back in Xianton.

Victoria was wearing a privy pink dress and pink skirt that showed off her slender and non blossomed physique. She was very thankful after her release from that dreaded cuff.

The last girl was of asian descent, specifically Japanese, and looked more like a tomboy with her short black hair and her stubborn attitude and cold response to her release. Her name was Lou.

After they were all released, Marie locked the hatch and wanted to explain what was happening before they saved them and killed the bastard that did that to them.

Tasha spoke up and told them that they are individually captured and forced to be "comfort women" or sex slaves in today's horrific modern world. They were abused if they didn't show happiness about the situation to their tormentor. They hated it there.

The wanted to leave.

They all turned to Marie when she explained her "curse" which surprised only Lou and Rhonda, the latter holding onto the cigar box that held her little rat companion as if not wanting to lose her friend.

Lou stared at the bag Flint was holding and told him to open it and find there belongings sternly and morphed her right hand into a fist as if warning him the consequences of not doing her request.

He opened the bag nervously and felt four name tags containing what felt like weapons but he wasn't so sure.

He pulled out a long wooden staff, holding what appeared to be ancient runes that were carved into it and holding a malachite crystal.

Tasha told him to give her it and he did so.

He pulled out a samurai sword with a beige cover and it had Lou's name on it and gave her it.

She smiled as if she reclaimed a lost companion.

A small blue crystal was pulled on with Rhonda's name on it.

He gave it to her. She slowly grabbed it, still scared.

He lastly pulled out a small ring with a tourmaline crystal on it and gave it to Victoria, knowing it was the last thing needed to be pulled out.

Then they revealed there individual secrets.
