Chapter 11 - I was never meant to fail. I was meant to die

One complete hour felt like hell on earth. Beaten and broken Victor pushed forward with the direction of the hoards strongest monster.

The dragon was still far away considering the distance he tossed Victor. This enemy wasn't done yet though and move in on its prey.

" Crap no more blood to use. I can't drink the blood here either. What do I do?" Still moving towards the dragon the hole he maid with his strongest attack is quickly filling up.

Looking down to find anything to protect himself, Victor found a weapon he that made him question his sanity.

" I'm to weak to rely on my hands. No good with a sword. This will be my weapon from today onward." Earlier during his frenzy, Victor killed a few monsters in one go. As it turns out a reaper was among them. It was an undead of great power. The scythe its species use are crafted to use the natural energy of the user to enhance itself and attack.

Victor did not know this and grabbed hold of the shaft firmly. The scythe was far taller than him, but it didn't really matter as it was just a way to stay alive.

Fast approaching two ghouls and their master vampire are closing in. From. The front the vampire swings its sword. The shaft of the scythe blocked the slash. Victor was going to parry the blade, but just as his hand was about to move a ghoul to a bite into his right shoulder.

The other ghoul twisted his wrist and broke the bone. It was now protruding through the skin and bleeding heavily.

Resisting the urge to scream wasn't what kept his voice stuck in Victors throat. The vampire removed his blade from the struggle and stabbed Victor right through the neck.

Victor needed to get room. From his side view he saw many more creatures coming. All far bigger and even stronger than him. He made a quick decision and cut off the arm of the vampire holding the sword.

He only had one hand to do it, but it was enough. The blood energy flowing into the sword made it rip through the arm cleanly.

Victor spun in place slicing the head off of the ghouls. He then ran and ran in the direction of the dragon. A thought on his mind the whole way. " I have a sword in my freaking neck. How the hell am I alive."

Victor struggled to keep pressing forward. He also knew it was his only chance at survival. The dragons energy is so strong that no other creature would get close to it. He wanted to make this a drawn out one on one.

The trial had other plans though. Long before he reached his target he would have to pass monsters of many races and styles of fighting. He never got the chance to learn any of the enemy moves.

He was coming up on an orc who was very tall. He had a club the size of a full grown tree. Victor jumped up hoping to leap right over the orc, however, as he cleared its head a black spider jumped right on him. It brought him down back infront of the orc again.

Victor tore the spider in half with his working and and help from his legs. Once done he turned around to see the orc swing its mighty club hitting him in the side. The bone in his already broken ribs is practically dust now.

Turning on the ground from his side on to his back he stared at the sky above. He no longer could move. His hearing was adequate enough to make out the sound of many foot steps around him. He couldn't tell what was about to happen or if he was going to survive the next few seconds. He awaited the end of a blade quickly slashing his throat. It never came.

CRUCH

CHOMP

" Aghhhh...stop. Stop! Stop it! My arm, legs. Aghhh... aghhhh! Why? What.. AGHHHH!" Victor was being munched on, beaten, and pulled apart slowly. He was not being killed by the creatures around him. His mind wasn't breaking fast enough to alleviate the pain. He felt it all. Blood curdling screams filled the air.

He would not beg for death, but sure wished it would come faster. He did all he could to fight back. Biting and moving any way he could. A reaper noticed that the boy was biting at his enemies and must have thought to teach him a lesson.

In Victors eyes a boney elongated snout on a jackle like skull made its way to his face. The skull opened and closed its mouth pinching the side of Victors face. Pinching until blood splattered and the meat came off the bone in pieces. The reaper kept biting Victors face and pulling right off his skull.

Still alive and awake to feel it all, Victor crying in pain, was no longer able to scream. He was not melancholy to the situation though. He was actively trying to escape even if there was absolutely no hope of it.

Suddenly all the monsters moved very quickly away from Victor. Victor couldn't look up to what was going on around him. His body was all over the place. He didn't even know how he was alive at this point. He couldn't even breathe. His lungs were long gone.

Over him was a shadow. He couldn't see the monster that cast it, but he knew quite well what it was.

" Time to die little boy! See you again soon!" The dragon huffed hot air out of its nostrils before burning the ground where Victor or what remains is lying.

[2 hours 19 minutes complete. User has died. Updating stats. You are stronger now. Repeating deaths army trial. Enemies updated. Enemies are stronger now. Remain strong and fight well.]

Victor once again found himself falling through the air. This time he was different. He fell with a long staff that had a blood red blade at the head. Instead of wood this time, the shaft was made of a dark black metal substance. It was jagged and bent.

He had a new look as he fell as well. Still wearing the same shorts and suit jacket, bit his face was crazier looking. Not a smile crazy. It was a face still with anger. Vengeance was the only thing on his mind. He did not need the system to tell him his devil gene activated.

Victor wasted no time. He lept forward into the hoards of the dead and started his revenge.

He didn't bother looking for the dragon. He knew the challenge before him wasn't one he was meant to fail. No the system wanted him to just die. Over and over again till the he was the vampire it needed him to be.

Back at the mansion

"You won't see him anymore. The arua in you will be free to roam and bring you to greater heights. That weakling will no longer hold you back." In his study Raphael was talking to his new daughter. Beside her was Rebecca, who was somewhat expecting this outcome. The strength Estelle possesses is even more powerful than what she or her father could understand.

Rebecca on the other hand raised her daughter. She knows where this strength came from. Raphael taking his daughter under his wing was going to happen regardless, but he thought this power of hers was naturally gifted. He did not understand that Victor had trained her to be able to control this much of her evil arua.

Estelle didn't know either as all of the so called "training" she did was just everyday task with a little bit of energy used to do it. It taught her control. Mostly so she could stop breaking everything she touched, but eventually it turned into battle prowess.

" Okay. I won't see brother anymore, but you must promise one thing." Raphael raised an eyebrow at Estelle. He was gone for her whole short life. He expects her to follow his word no matter what, but if one small compromise gains absolute obeisance he would allow a request.

" Never harm Vikky again. Anne either!" Estelle made it clear in her childish voice exactly what her obedience cost. She would save Victor even if it meant staying far away from him.

"Very well girl. That's an easy request considering you and your sister Anne are coming with me. I've got another deployment to the Orc nation coming up. The war is supposed to take an approximate ten years. Pack your things we leave after I have a little chat with your brother tomorrow." Raphael gave his strong stern order to the girl. Anne, who was eavesdropping outside, burst through the door. She was about to lose it when her father gave her a certain look. She then understood she had no choice in the matter.

Anne was smart. She knew the war with the Orc nation meant the Queen of the Vampires made the choice to annihilate them. No more orcs, goblins, hobgoblins, ogres, and other beings of the nature. Only the ones made slave would survive. But if the queen wanted Anne to go herself that meant only the weakest of civilians would be allowed to live.

Rebecca had a stunned face. She made tears come down her cheaks. All the pain she endured up to this point came out.

"What do you mean? All but one of my babies is participating in this was. My new born as well as my oldest. My four son. You already lost the lives of two of my other daughters. Only two remain." She fell to her knees with heavy sobs. She couldn't hold anything back. The Fallin family is a war family. Though he did not expect his new child to survive the war he had high hopes she would gain the power necessary to do so.

"I will train her and under my guidance she will be a monster."
