Roenaldo woke up and took a quick shower. Although he did not usually like to do so, he knew that he must've gotten quite dirty in the recent marathon he took part in. After doing the bare minimum of bathing and rinsing, Roenaldo changed into his usual clothes, grabbed his Carbon Roller, and went to Inkopolis Plaza.
Once he arrived, he found Gustavo hanging around near Cooler Heads wearing a new blue visor. "Hey," he said, "What's up? You sure arrived late. It's, uh, let's see..." he looked at his watch, "3:00! What, did you have a massive party last night or something?" Roenaldo smiled, replying, "You could say that." Gustav laughed before replying, "Well, I hope that you haven't had too much fun, because I wanted to invite you over to hang out with some of my other friends. We found this fresh-looking spot to have some fun! So, what do you say?" Roenaldo rested his arm on the handle of his weapon, replying, "Well, I was going to head into some Ranked Battles with this Carbon Roller, but I'll take you up on your offer." Gustavo gave a thumbs up, replying, "Awesome! You won't regret it, I promise. Come on, follow me! You know how to Super Jump, right?" Gustavo stepped back before rocketing off to the top of Jelly Fresh, signaling Roenaldo to do the same. Roenaldo attempted to do so, but ended up crashing into the taller Cooler Heads building. "Ooh," groaned Gustavo as Roenaldo slid down to him, "That must've hurt. Well, at least you don't have a skull to crack! Try to keep up with me, eh?" With that, Gustavo jumped from building to building, from tree to tree, leaving Roenaldo to try and replicate his movements. Suffice to say, he experienced a lot of pain, but he was having fun doing it. The two squids kept on launching into the air until they reached their destination.
Gustavo landed and did a showy gesture with his arms raised while Roenaldo faceplanted in some mud. Ignoring his friend for a moment, Gustavo called out, "Hey you guys! We're here!" A group of people came out from various places in the alcove that everyone was in. "Hey," said one girl in a green blazer, "Nice to see you! Who's the new guy?" Another smaller girl wearing pure white clothes followed up with, "He looks...dirty. Did you find him off the street or something?" Gustavo frowned, responding, "Hey now, that's no way to treat one of my friends! This is Roenaldo, everyone. Roenaldo, these girls are Antonessa and Valenteara." Roenaldo got up and extended a hand for the two to shake, but Valenteara held her friend back. The small squid exclaimed, "Eeeek! Get away from us!" She reached inside her blouse's chest pocket and threw a wet wipe at Roenaldo's face. "Ow," he said, "That was rude. Wait...do you want me to clean myself?" He took the cloth in one hand, continuing, "Okay, if that's what you want..." He took the wipe and removed the mud and leaves on his body. Once he did so, Valenteara calmed down and shook Roenaldo's hand along with Antonessa. "Sorry," said Antonessa, "My friend can be a bit of a clean freak. Hope that didn't make you think any less of us, guy." Roenaldo smiled at her, replying, "It's fine. Believe me, I had a lot of people back home complaining about my hygiene, especially my mom! It's funny, you would think that me being from the country would lower the standards for hygiene." Hearing this, an Inkling boy wearing a red scarf and a blue trench coat emerged from behind a bush and said, "Oh, you're from the country? How is it over there?" A short, anthropomorphic barnacle girl wearing a short dress followed the Inkling, saying, "Yeah, man, what do you do over there?" Roenaldo turned towards them, replying, "Oh, you know, it's pretty relaxing over there. Nothing but nature and plants over there. It's not at all like Inkopolis, I'll tell you that much!" The squid rubbed his chin, responding, "Hmm, sounds nice. I tell you; I would like to take a vacation over there; sometimes the city life can be hectic. By the way, the name's Sop. This here's Rasuca." Rasuca raised a tendril arm from her rock-like body, saying, "A pleasure to meet you." After the others had their introductions, Gustavo said, "Okay, it's great to see that you guys are getting acquainted. But that's not what we came for, is it? Come on, let's go to the hangout spot! Gustavo walked ahead of the group, leading them to their destination.
"Check it out," said Gustavo as everyone came across a strange object, "I just found this thing lying around all of a sudden." Rasuca gasped, saying, "Oh my god. Do you think this is one of those alien spaceships that the Squid Sisters mentioned? Sop, if anything comes out of there, I'm using you as a meat shield." Sop chuckled, responding, "Fine with me. I can handle some brain-sucklers." Roenaldo looked closer at the saucer until he realized something: this was the same UFO that he took down! As Lumiose stood there wide-eyed, Antonessa waved a hand in front of his face, saying, "Hey, Earth-to-Roenaldo. Did you already get brainwashed?" Roenaldo shook his hand and smiled, responding, "No, I'm completely fine! It's just...weird seeing such a weird thing in this area of all places. Especially for a country boy like me." Gustavo walked closer to the UFO, stating, "I see what you mean, friend. Even I was intimidated by this thing when I first saw it." He turned towards the others with a glint in his eyes, following up with, "But that feeling's long gone! Who wants to go with me to explore that grounded ship?" Everyone except Valenteara agreed, who said, "Are you sure that we should do this? I don't think that it's very safe..." Gustavo waved his hand, retorting, "Come on, Valenteara, have a little fun! It'll just be a quick in-and-out adventure." The girl sighed, replying, "Okay...don't blame me if we all get tetanus." Gustavo looked at Roenaldo, saying, "Are you ready to go?" Roenaldo nodded, answering, "Sure." Gustavo then pointed towards the UFO, stating, "Okay! Onward to exploration!"
The group entered the ship through an entrance that was conveniently left open. "Man," said Gustavo, "It is dark in here! I guess all the lights must've broken when this saucer crashed, eh?" Antonessa walked around, adding, "Yeah, it's pitch-black in here. I should've thunk to bring a flashlight or--" Just then, the girl hit her foot on a hidden object, causing her a sharp pain. She hopped around, shouting, "Ow, ow, OW! Oooh, you stupid, son of a..." She then started to say all sorts of foreign phrases, none of which sounded pleasant. Somehow, one thing she said activated a mechanism in the UFO, and the lights ended up turning on. "Cool," said Gustavo as he grinned, "I don't know what you did, Nessa, but it worked! Now we can explore this place more effectively."
The group started travelling the corridors of the ship, exploring every aspect of it thoroughly. Along the way, they found things such as sleeping quarters, weapon storage rooms, and even a food court (unfortunately, all the food had either gone bad or was eaten). "Hm," said Sop, "This place really has everything. I wouldn't mind staying here for a while." As the band continued to explore, Rasuca's attention was caught by something, and she ran over to the spectacle. "Hey guys," she yelled from that spot, "Come on over here! You won't believe what I found!" The others went over to the barnacle, finding a big, advanced control room. Rasuca jumped on top of a hard chair, stating, "Look at all of these buttons! There's that yellow knob over here...that series of blue buttons over there...and...oooh, what's this?" Roenaldo looked with shock as he saw one of Rasuca's arms hovering above a giant red button. Judging from his previous experience with Octarian technology, Roenaldo knew that pressing the button would bring nothing good. He dived towards the barnacle, exclaiming, "NO!" He tackled the barnacle, hurting his hands against her rough exterior. "Ay," said Rasuca, "What's the deal, man? This is no way to treat a lady!" Gustavo looked at Roenaldo with concern, asking, "Yeah, what's up with you? I've never seen you act this crazy before." Roenaldo set Rasuca back on her "feet" before saying, "Sorry about that. It's just...um..." He looked around as he tried to think of an explanation. After some thinking, he rubbed his stomach and said, "It's just that we can't do all of this on an empty stomach! Is anyone else hungry?" Antonessa smiled, responding, "I'm glad you asked! Excuse me for a second." She ran out of the UFO and returned a short while later with a pizza box. "Ta-da," she said, "A hot pie straight from the oven! Well, not literally, but you know what I mean. But you know what's really special about this pizza? Valenteara herself made it!" Roenaldo looked at the smaller Inkling, saying, "Wow, is this true?" The girl tapped her fingers together shyly, responding, "Y-yep! I made it with my own two hands." Rasuca rubbed her extremities together, saying, "Mmm, I could go for some pizza right now. Let's go and make use of that food court!" Everyone agreed, and they headed to sit at one of the tables over there.
As everyone was eating a slice of the anchovy and tomato pizza, Roenaldo said, "Mmm, this food sure is delicious! It's better than what I try to make." Valenteara looked at him, inquiring, "Oh, are you a cook, too?" Roenaldo chewed and shook his head, answering, "I do make my own food, sure, but none of it is good." The girl giggled, responding, "I can see why; with how messy you look, I'm pretty sure that you act the same way in the kitchen." Roenaldo rolled his eyes, responding, "Har-har. Whether I like it or not, I'll have to keep on eating my own bad food if I want to save money." Valenteara took small bites of her food as she said, "Hmm, maybe it doesn't have to be that way? If you want, I could give you a few cooking and baking tips." Roenaldo raised his eyebrows, responding, "Really? You would?" The young squid nodded, answering, "Of course. I wouldn't want to let a fellow chef down, would I?" Roenaldo smiled, saying, "Thank you. I appreciate your help." After that, the squids plus a barnacle had finished their pizza, and everyone was satisfied. "Alright," said Gustavo, "I think that's enough for today. Everyone had fun though, right? We should do this more often!" Sop nodded, saying, "Indeed. I hope to see all of you again soon." Roenaldo then added, "Same here. Anyway, I did say that I wanted to do some Ranked Battles, so I'll get to that now. See you all soon, especially you, Valenteara." Gustavo waved goodbye and said, "See ya, Roenaldo! With that, the Inkling left the grounded saucer and jumped back to Inkopolis Plaza, albeit not without some trouble.
