The sun was gushing in through my window blinds and I raised my hands to get the light out of my face. I groaned, switching off the timer and somewhere behind my head, I was cursing from recalling what day it was. It was Monday which meant that another school has week begun. I didn't think I was physically, mentally and even emotionally prepared for this but I still decided to get my ass up as fast as possible to get dressed for school.
Which was because the principal of my school wasn't a kind lady. She hated lateness and I hated detention so that makes the both of us! I was out of the radar when it came to students that she didn't like or constantly had a certain problem with. It wasn't me. I was your typical good girl who didn't break any rules.
I dragged my legs sluggishly toward the bathroom to get myself cleaned up. I opened the shower, allowing the cold water to bite against my skin. I then began to wash my blonde hair, scrubbing it with my strawberry shampoo and after about five minutes, I was walking out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around my body.
What to wear today? I started roaming through my clothes, most of them were blue so choosing color wasn't a problem. My eyes settled on a gown in the middle. It wasn't too short or tight. I pulled it out deciding to wear this today. I matched it with blue sneakers and pulled out my hoodie. I loved wearing hoodies, so I had a lot of them which were of different colors this time. The one I took today was black and white.
I combed my blonde hair and after wearing some accessories then I headed out of my room. When I got downstairs, my food had been packed by the kitchen maids. I went over to grab it and poked my head to the sides where some of the maids were chatting. "Hey! Thank you!"
I muttered before rushing outside. I arrived in front of my car and I dumped myself into it and brought the engine to life. Right, it was time to get to school.
***
I arrived at school averagely early and I was getting down my car, squinting my eyes at the massive crowd out there, chatting and making a hell of a noise, as they walked down toward the hallways. I clenched tighter to the straps of my bags, feeling a bit out of place, especially now that I couldn't spot Ivy anywhere.
I wasn't good with the crowd. I gathered up my courage and began to make my way down. I was walking, with eyes ahead, and mentally hoping that I got into class earlier so I didn't have to stand outside like this and feel awkward. The thing was that my school was big so even after walking for so long, I was just arriving into the building for the seniors. My eyes bounced around unconsciously and was soon landed on the guy that once created flutters in my heart. Brown hair, and darker shade of eyes, a tall body build, and everything a girl could ever crave for in her guy. Liam.
I blinked back the tears that wanted to make their way into my eyes, when I spotted him, holding another girl around the waist and surrounded by his other popular friends. They looked like they were catching up after the weekends. I knew it. I should never have dated him at all. I met him as a result of Ivy's influence. Ivy always had popular friends and it was some days ago that he came around to greet her and then he saw me. Not to be cliché but I liked him from that instant and after about a few weeks of speaking with him. He asked me out, of cause, I'd say yes.
We've been dating ever since then, and for a good two years, not until one morning that he told me he wanted to end all of it. I couldn't understand him. Did he really not love me anymore? The more I looked at him standing over there and laughing like as if nothing ever happened, created even more pain in my chest and I felt like I couldn't breathe.
All of a sudden, one of his other popular friends was whispering something into his ears, and in an instant, he was looking in my direction. Our eyes locked and I felt breathless, terrible, crap. How did I let him catch me staring at him?
I quickly diverted my gaze, feeling shaky, uneasy, and extremely sad. I was still in the process of assembling myself when I walked into someone else's back. Bom*
I almost fell from the impact but the person was instantly reaching out to grab my hands. I gasped when I was back on both feet, eyes widened from the shock and realization of what almost happened to me. I was still gasping dramatically when a very deep husk voice muttered into the space between us. "Uh"
He chuckled. "The make-up girl"
My eyes doubled, looking up to see who it was then my eyes tripled if possible. It was the guy from the mall. Same dark curls that fell into his face, insane green eyes and there was a signature smirk along his lips. I blinked, what he had just called me kicking into my senses, and I resisted a grit. I couldn't afford to have another taunting nickname along with the 'stick girl' crap.
"You've got the wrong girl"
I lied smoothly, trying to make my way past him as fast as possible but for some reason, he wasn't letting me off easily. "I'm sure it's you, so don't bother lying"
I stopped in my tracks, biting my underlip desperately. Then I turned around to mutter. "Oh..shut up"
I didn't know where that confidence came from but when I looked at his eyes, they were sparkling in amusement. "You had all that...Uhm…"
He gestured his hands in a circular motion around his cheeks as he searched for the perfect word. He was rambling so much nonsense that I decided to help him out. "Eyeliner"
Then he grinned at me knowingly. "I knew I wasn't mistaken"
My eyes widened, seeing that I had given myself away then I did the craziest thing. I ran away. Sprinting down the hallways and all through I had only one thought in my head and it was fear. I already didn't like him. Yeah. Let's call him the green-eyed guy, he looked like someone who could cause me a lot of trouble in school. Perhaps, start another nickname that would haunt me for the rest of my senior year. I decided to stay away from him as much as possible.
I was now standing in front of my locker and trying to catch my breath. When the shadow of someone appeared behind me and I turned around to spot Ivy. She was eying my breathless appearance. "What's wrong with ya?"
I placed my hands on my chest. "I just escaped…"
I stuttered. "The green-eyed guy"
She frowned. "What?"
I then gestured for her to come closer and was whispering into her ears. "You know the guy from the mall yesterday?"
She nodded and my eyes bugged out in horror. "I saw him?!"
Ivy chuckled, eying my dramatic behavior and saying what I didn't want to accept. "Of cause. He goes to our school"
I gasped. "He called me the make-up girl. What if he started another nickname thing for me"
"What would I do?"
She was shaking her head at me and tapping me on the shoulders. "Calm down, honey"
"Adrian isn't that kind of guy" She squinted her eyes as though thinking about something before uttering. "He rarely even talks to anyone"
Adrian. So that was his name.
I blinked at the info she gave me. "I'm finding that pretty hard to believe. He definitely looks like the crowd-limelight thing, you know?"
"Oh, that's because half the school is crazy about him"
"I mean the girls, of cause."
She corrected and my both brows rose a bit at that before I shook my head. "I just knew it, either way, he is trouble. It's better to stay clear of him"
Ivy was shaking her head and tugging on my arms. "Whatever you say"
"Can we get to class now?"
She muttered, jerking me into the reality that we might in fact be running late for our first period. I quickly grabbed my English note since that was what we were having first. Ivy and I shared almost the same classes so we always went together. I closed my lockers shut before casting her a lovely smile. "Okay. Now, I'm good"
We walked down the hallways, toward the class and talking about the little things that had happened in the space that we were away from each other. My life wasn't so eventful so I merely listened to what Ivy had to say. She filled me in about her family and her plans to get her parents back together. I laughed when she told me that she was planning to lock her parents in a house together claiming to have lost all the keys. I thought it was a silly idea but with a little brushing up she could make it work.
We arrived inside the class and took a sit together next to the window. She was giggling over something that I said when the teacher entered the class. We then kept quiet to listen to the English teacher.
