Nightlife was present. The air was so dense with lights and smoke that we may have been underwater. Every dancing step began with a flick of sweat into the air, and it ended with wet hair bouncing back down. Everything would have been lovely—even perfect until Jayden felt someone pressing on him, squeezing, and forcing him to move in different directions. When he turned, he saw Livy's face grinning inviting him to dance with her. Jayden rolled his eyes at her. He was suddenly not in the mood to party. He tapped Eros as if telling him to be in charge with Livy instead, then he left the dance floor. While Livy stood disappointed and pissed off.
'See that, princess?' the Familiar asked Ember.
Their eyes were both on the dance floor. The Familiar refers to what has just taken place between Livy and Jayden.
Ember relaxedly grabbed a bit slice of salmon and drank her wine.
'Yeah, I see that,' Ember replied, smirking.
