Chereads / The Dominator System / Chapter 4 - The unplanned fight

Chapter 4 - The unplanned fight

Henry with courage, he followed the footsteps of the awakeners and ran for almost one and half an hour before he made Joel ( his instructor at school). Joel was shocked to see Henry without any weapon at the forest side. This was the most dangerous side and only awakeners were allowed to walk by such sides. Joel decided to make a quick safety response by taking Henry back home. Henry was first given several arrows and spear head and was given protective gears to use just incase he could accidentally meet dragons.

The were no designated roads during that time. Both Joel and Henry created their own routes and followed the google map direction. Remember there were no any means of transport except the naturally made legs. Walking could be tiresome and time consuming but that was the only way to apply. They walked for some kilometers and Henry got exhausted making him to lie on the ground. He could not move anymore.

Joel decided to give him one potion for energy increment. Immediately Henry received this, he stood up from the ground and went on with the journey until he reached at home in Miho slums. Joel forwarded him to his parents and went back to his missions. He forgot to take the protective gears and the spear head from Henry. The war became worse when the dragons reached the slums. On the slums, dragons could easily break houses into pieces and slaughter people lively. Henry stood up courageously and moved outside to deal with the situation that was worse.

It was inhuman Henry seeing people being slaughtered by the deadly dragons while he had skills and abilities to fight them. Amongst the dragons, there was their leader called Kaif. This was the most powerful and controller of the dragons that were on duty. Stepping outside, Henry saw his friend grabbed by the dragon. This made him to almost go mad. He talked directly to the dragons. "You stop what you are doing. Come and fight me you silly idiots."

This sound made the dragons to drop Henry's friend down and they started moving towards him roaring angrily with deeper voice. " let us find that small boy, he is playing with fire and it gonna burn him. You young boy, you are nothing to us and we want to show you some manners since you have disrespected us. Insulting me is a big offense in the entire world."

"I fear nobody, come on , I want to show you that am small but with alot of skills and ability." Henry replied to the dragons. As they moved closer, Henry was ready with his spear head. His body was covered with protective gear ready to fight the dragons. The leading dragon moved closer to Henry while other powerless dragons stood by sides all round. Henry moved one step behind and attacked the head dragon in the center of the head by the use of the arrow. The powerful dragon felt down immediately due to pain. Other powerless dragons were filled up with fear and ran away towards Miho forest. A mechanical voice then rang into Henry's mind.

[Ding: congratulations for binding to the dominator system. You have used one potion.]

[Remaining potions:3]

[Level:f1]

[Ability skills:8]

Henry wondered why the system did not add him something. The dragon lying on the ground slowly crawled slowly towards the forest. In the process, Henry decided to ask the system in order to verify why he was deducted a potion instead of being added for a completed mission. The system replied to him " you didn't kill any dragon, you just injured leading to the deduction. Next time ensure that you kill completely without sparing."

Henry blamed himself for this but the dragon had already gone. The attack was done during day time which was something unusual. The awakeners awakened those that had been attacked by the dragons but on their arrival in Miho slums they were shocked after receiving the story that Henry had fought and silenced the dragons. The awakeners immediately went to Henry's homestead without any hesitation. He was called out although he was feeling so tired since one potion had left his body after the fight.

Henry came out and stood on a stone that was directly proportional to the door step. He stretched his hands and yawned. Upon stretching his hands, a hard voice was hard from his joints indicating that he was very flexible. The awakeners went straight away to interview the boy. "How did you manage to fight the dragons which are very dangerous to human life? As we can see you are very weak to struggle with anything in the name of fighting. Are you the one who fought or people are just lying?"

Henry took a deep breath before he gave answers to the questions given. " Am the one who fought them. I have skills and abilities to fight. A fight is not won by energy or body size but through skills and tactics. Look at the biblical David who killed the giant Goliath. The holy book is very clear that Goliath was armed but David only used a small stone to kill him. This was almost a similar case like this. I only used one spear head and arrow to dismantle the dragon." Henry paused and added," am accepting other challenges if any."

The crowd of people was shocked with the wise statement issued out by Henry. The awakeners were the most shocked since they were unable to fight those dragon making them to come up with awakening powers. The interrogation went on for period of time. People were proud of Henry especially the family of his friend who had been grabbed by the dragon before he appeared for a fight. Some people suggested that Henry was supposed to be their king but due to strict rules by the federal government they could be arrested with an immediate effect. The people remained silent on the issues to protect themselves from the tough ruling of the federal government.

Henry was asked to join military for a period of time to perfect his skills in fighting the monsters in Miho strongholds. The villagers on the slums were reluctant on this matter since they had found their savior. The federal government was very harsh in rulling hence the commoners had no say in such government. The leadership style was not participatory. The government always made decisions without consulting its citizens. Henry was to join the military school for tough training but before he could join, there was an interview that was to be done at the government parastatols. It was nothing else than a shooting competition. All the winners in the competition were to be taken for a free training in military school.

The government organized for a quick competition that was to be done in two days time. Henry was given that information and the officials and the awakeners left the slums and moved to their mansions in the uplands. The citizens departed happily to their respective residential places. They were all filled up with hope since they had at least someone to protect them during the hard and tough chaotic times. It was a matter of just practicing and emerging the best. Henry decided to rehearse in the remaining time. He quickly organized for an internal competition between the slum boys.

They made spears from natural materials i.e tree parts. Though Henry had an artificial spear but he chose not to use it. They only copied the make from the original one and improvised their own spears. They also used a picture of a gun to make theirs and went for an inter-slums shooting competition. They placed several disposable plates on the top of the tree. They were now to use the spears to attack the plates. In the competition, Henry chose to be the last one to shoot. A line of ten boys was arranged. At the back of the line was Henry eagerly waiting for his turn.

Surprisingly, all the other nine boys missed to target the plates at the top of the tree. When his turn came, he closed one eye and saw the plates in an inclined angle and in one shot of a spear, he shot three plates at once. There were other two plates that remained at the top of the tree. Other boys congratulated him and accepted the defeat but called for the rematch to shoot the two plates that remained at the top of the tree. The other boys suggested that the competition be done early the next day. This could give them time also to do their own practice before coming to the competition. The two plates remained on the tree waiting for the competition time. Henry accepted and went back home happily with other boys from the slum who had come to cheer him and give him morale. Henry had confidence in himself so he saw no need for him to do other practices. He just went direct on his three-leged stool at the corner, sat down and waited for a meal before going to bed to rest.
