Chapter 4 - CHAPTER 4

Alisha's Point Of View

Lucas.

It was the first time in a few months that I had heard his name. "Lucas?" My brows drew in. "No. He was out of town when I last heard from him, and I don't believe he has since returned.

Additionally, Hannah said with a nod, "He's too sweet to mess with you." She was factual.

My first boyfriend, Lucas, and I had an on-again, off-again relationship that lasted just a few months. With high hopes, I gave him my virginity, but it turned out to be the most boring experience of my life. We simply broke up because things weren't working out, even though I still cared about him.

He was the most kind-hearted guy I'd ever encountered, always being soft and compassionate. After we broke up, he quickly departed the area, and I haven't heard from him since. I suppose I hurt his feelings in some way.

When I regained consciousness, Hannah's grey eyes were shining at me. How is your father doing? She questioned, a little trembling in her voice.

I must confess that hearing his name or having that guy referred to as Dad was startling.

"No. He also wouldn't do it. Despite the fact that I think he is the worst guy alive, this is not his act. If he had come home, I would have known. I responded, my jaw clenching at his memory.

Everyone, including me, preferred to refer to my father as Mr. Barry. He and Mom divorced while I was in my early teens. She attempted to seek a divorce, but he refused to grant it, and he often visited us both whenever he felt like it since he was one of the top wolves—the Beta of the pack—and we had no one to complain to.

"Are you certain? He routinely performs these kinds of things, so it may be him. Hannah proceeded by placing her hand over my back. "You ought to have told your mother."

I didn't want to make her anxious. All of this may just be a prank from someone. It may be, and finding out that someone had bloodied my bathroom mirror was the last thing my mother wanted to hear.

If it isn't, what if? If not a joke, what is it?

I groaned and said, "Then I'll see to it."

After jumping up from her sofa, Hannah entered the kitchen. She emerged with some chocolates and drinks to make the morning more cheerful. She grinned at me before returning to her seat next to me. Hannah was my closest friend; the rest of my pals were more sporadic.

She gave me a bar of chocolate, said, "Let's forget what happened earlier," and leaned back on the sofa. "Tell me how it went, please. All ears, please.

I said, hard flushed, "I can't."

The question "Why not?" She sulked.

Because it's a secret, I am unable to discuss what occurred last night with you or anybody else. She slapped my hand away when I tapped her shoulder.

"That's rude. I also need some specifics. The Alpha was it good? Did you two make out? Do you see any stars? She briefly had enthusiasm in her eyes when I didn't say anything.

Yes, Hannah, I did see the stars and the whole starry night, but that was all. There is nothing more I can give you. I yelled as I put my lips to the glass and gulped down the chilled juice she had taken out of the fridge. The apple juice was just what I needed to regain my energy.

He asked, "Was he rough?" She chuckled.

I gasped for air and yelled, "Hannah! I won't reveal it to you. Not only was it due to the arrangement, but it was also because I didn't want to discuss such personal matters with my closest buddy.

"Whatever," I say.

I started thinking and imagining it again as soon as she stopped talking. the never-ending joy. My standards for males had been raised too high since it was so pleasant and nice. When Hannah started constantly pounding my shoulder, I forced myself to awaken.

"Hello? Are you planning to spend the whole day here? I wanted to sleep for an additional six hours as it was my weekend and I didn't want to start the dreaded school again. She complained and threw her fists in the air in anger.

Our school's twelfth grade, or sixth form, was where we were at the time, and we had more work than ever. Even before the competition season and school activities started, it was difficult.

A few days before, there was a tiny music festival, and Hannah ruined our day by singing; even then, she had been avoiding the other females we attended with.

"Yes, I intend to remain here. I'll go as soon as your Dad arrives since he isn't home right now. I muttered as I stretched down on the sofa and turned on the TV to distract myself.

I scowled at Hannah as she hissed at me. "Please? only a day?" I gave her a few quick flicks of my lashes. It always turned out well. "I'm sorry to bother you. You may go get more beauty rest. I pushed my foot by her tummy right after realizing that she had been crashing into my home for the previous week. Remember what you were doing in my place, please. I told her again.

Laughing, she said, "Fine, fine. I regret the mistake.

"Still! You damaged my bedroom.

I spent the evening hanging out with Hannah before going back home just as her dad was leaving. All the local fathers, including my own, had a vendetta against me, therefore I never had a nice connection with any of them.

Mom had to leave for work once again, but she would be back at five in the morning. Soon. Before going to bed, I made my bed, cleaned the kitchen, and heated up some meals for myself. The moment I did, the fear started.

My skin itch. I couldn't identify the face that was in front of me at all. Minutes passed. He kept staring down at me without moving. He had a blurry, blank face that I only realized when I peered closer.

Here I was once again.

Over the warm earth where I was standing, my feet were scorching. Around me, there were a couple of corpses that were on fire and seemed to be dead from what I could tell. The mute, hulking figure was followed by a lady wearing a blue cloth. Her hair was as white as snow, and the lady had a heavenly face.

She shouldn't be here, you say. The lady said, a layer of milk and honey covering her voice. She will be imprisoned here for all time. You must let her go.

A circle of deaf, dazzling fire arose around me. The faces in front of me vanished as they instantly flared out of the earth. Before I was overcome by the sound of a baby sobbing, I gasped and took a step back.

When I glanced up, I found myself in a dark forest, or maybe woods that reminded me of the day I went to a volcano with Hannah a few years ago. I could feel the heat and the flames affecting me.

I screamed in terror as the circle of fire vanished and bolted from wherever I was standing into darkness. I want to return home, where I can see Hannah and my mother. Whatever it was, I didn't want to be in this location.

Although it seemed too real, I believe a part of me realized I was dreaming.

After a few minutes of sprinting, I came across a gigantic oak tree and put my palm on its sturdy trunk. My attention wasn't drawn to the mark on my wrist till later. Whatever it was, it left an impression on my flesh that was either made of a hot metal or of actual fire.

I yelled aloud and was drenched in perspiration as if I had just spent some time in a sauna. I sucked forcefully as my throat became dry. When I raised my head, I saw that everything around me was on fire, even the tree's branches.

My own unending screaming temporarily rendered me deaf. My head was pounding, and tears were streaming down my cheeks. A grave appeared underneath me out of nowhere as another person flashed in front of me.

I made an effort to hold my tongue for a short period of time so that I could read the inscription on the tomb. A hand reached out from the tombstone and grabbed me as I knelt down on the soggy ground and touched it.

'No!'
