The woman's face was unlike any face I had ever seen in my eighteen years of existence. Her skin had scales at its texture and was deeply embedded in her bones. Her bright, bulging eyes were on me. When she smiled at me, I screamed once more as her lips overlapped with sharp teeth.
It was a living thing.
a beast.
As soon as I could, I fled. After the impulsion subsided, I was able to get up. My ears were torn apart by the woman's cruel and loud laughter. I wasn't pursued by her. Instead of hearing her marching, I heard my own horrified cries resonating through the woods that I thought were secure.
On that evening, nobody came to get me.
No one.
I finally felt as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders as I reached out of the trees and it was brighter. My body felt as cold as ice, my fingers were shaking, and my face was covered in perspiration.
I went on moving. My right leg felt twisted, and blood and perspiration were dripping down my neck. In the midst of nowhere, I crossed one hand over my chest and the other over a pole.
Though I could see people and automobiles, none of them made an exception for me. Wherever their night carried them, they roamed.
I grabbed my phone and made an immediate call to Mom. The first person that sprang to mind was her.
I cried out, "Mom," clutching the phone to my ears.
"Alisha. What's the issue? Are you all right?"Somebody assaulted me. I had never seen or heard of that lady, and I had no idea who she was. All of this only began a few days ago.
after a night spent in a dungeon.
"Who? Where are you at this moment? Inform me. Are you injured? She acted in a panic.
"No, Mom, I have no idea. One or more beings." Tears poured down onto the ground as my head swung over my shoulders. "I have no knowledge. I am approaching the cops. Please, could you come over here?
"All right, love, just relax. I'll get out right now and arrive there.
I could clearly see the police station in front of me. It was a short distance from the forests that led to the town's perimeter. I just had to cross a street. I could manage it. I picked myself up and crossed the street to go to the Hillford Police Station.
Most likely, the person who assaulted me is still in the woods, waiting for me or another person to come back. And I'm sure she was the one bugging me for days. Of course, it was her.
Even after I entered the police station, the sound of her laughter could still be heard in my ears.
I paused as I approached the reception and stated, "I want to report an attack that just happened minutes ago."
I was asked by the constable, "Are you okay, miss?"
"I—I'm good. There is someone in the woods who is not one of us, and I simply need them. It is a creature of a distinct sort. I hesitated.
I was given a document by the officer, who said, "Please fill out the form and we will look into it."
"No!" My hand hit the glass desk hard. "No, send someone there right now. That individual or that creature is still in the woods.
"All right, miss, just relax a little. Can I have your name, please? The officer requested and retrieved the document.
I sighed and said, "Alisha Michaelson."
He nodded, "All right." "I'll go straight for the Chief Officer. Welcome to your seat.
The officer entered another room before leaving this one. People at the police station gave me strange looks as if I were insane. Not me. I was met with a few narrowed-eyed stares, so I crossed my arms across my chest and cocked my head to the other side.
If they had witnessed what I did, they wouldn't be treating me like a crazy person.
the real terror.
It wasn't a dream, either. Everything was genuine and earnest.
It's "Alisha Michaelson?" Looking in my direction, a guy remarked.
"Yes?"
"Please come along with me."
He led me inside the station, where I then followed him into the vacant room where they often collected statements. I had never previously visited a police station.
"Please sit down." As he sat down on one of the seats, the guy remarked.
I continued to have my hands over my shoulders as I sat in front of him. The same officer who had been at the front desk entered and handed the other person a file.
Before flipping the pages and reading the file, He stated, "I'm Ronald Conner and I'll help you out with whatever problem you have." "I notice that you reported two break-ins, one just this morning and one yesterday. Is that accurate?
I blinked.
He closed the file and set it aside, focusing only on me. What were you able to observe in the woods?
I shook my head since I couldn't explain who she was. It was some kind of beast.
The question "A rogue?"
"No." I put my hurt leg on top of the other. It was slowly recovering.
"Then? Could you tell me what it is? A wolf, perhaps? A person?"
"Neither. Something else was it. It swept like a breeze through the forest, and when she revealed her face to me, it was ominous and terrifying. She had crimson eyes.
"Her?" He stopped me in the middle.
"It was female."
The question is, "How do you know that?"
I could hear her voice."
Is it possible that it wasn't a costume? Who is pulling a practical joke on you?
My brow began to furrow as I growled forcefully. "No! Nothing like that is true. The monster and the lady were genuine.
"Okay, OK. When exactly did this occur?
Just at this moment. I gestured impatiently at the door with my hand up to the woods outside the police station. She's most likely present. I'm not sure what she wants from me, but she's giving me a lot of trouble.
Never in my life could I get rid of the emotion that I had tonight. Her face would leave a permanent imprint on my soul.
Before the police could ask me any more questions, Mom entered through the door and hurriedly raced in my direction. "Oh my God, you're bleeding."
"Did the woman really attack you as you say she did?" Policeman Ronald enquired.
"Yes. Please investigate; simply send someone into the woods and you'll find her. I had had enough of chatting.
"Ms. Alisha, we need to submit a report and send out a patrol, therefore we will need more than this. We are powerless to act before that time.
"If my daughter wants you to look into something then you should, right away!" the mother yelled at the police.
"Madam, we're trying to work together,"
I trotted in her embrace as she wrapped a hand over my shoulder, keeping me secure and warm.
"No. My kid was assaulted after someone broke into our home early in the morning and managed to spread a rogue's blood all over a mirror. Before anything worse occurs, you ought to take this more seriously. She screamed at him.
"Okay, kindly give us a moment." While I kept close to Mom and squeezed her even more, the officer got up and walked towards the door.
She didn't ask me any questions; all she did was console me till the cop came back. I had thought they had sent out a patrol to search the woods, but the exact reverse happened.
We've spoken to Mr. Barry, and at his direction, we'll send a pack of wolves into the woods to look for anything you've mentioned as an invader or beast.
Fuck.
Dad not.
When she heard the police ask for my Dad's name, Mom froze. Each time they met, something went wrong because she couldn't abide having him near her. I was also reluctant to visit Mr. Barry.
This is really ludicrous. Out of sheer rage, I shouted and pulled myself up from my seat. "I was fucking close to death. Are you kidding me?
"Miss—"
"Avoid missing me!" I interrupted him and hurriedly escorted Mom out of the room.
He was invisible to us. Dad would only worsen the situation. He loves to manipulate us and would mess us up if he knew we were here. The police merely provided him with a fantastic opportunity.
We can't let you leave, Miss. We must analyze your wounds and remarks to see if they are genuine. The same cop passed me and stopped in front of the door.
I couldn't care less. Whatever you two want to do, do it. I won't be staying here much longer. I asked for assistance, not for someone to make matters worse.
"If you don't stop getting upset..." He paused for a while before moving on. "We'll have to hold you back,"
