"Hello, Uncle and Aunty," Lucas said, waving at Arthur's parents. "I'm out, broski. You enjoy your time with your family." He leaned in to whisper in Arthur's ear.
Arthur turned to stop him and was successful ."Who's he?Your friend?" Reynolds, Arthur's dad, asked."Yeah a friend, a bit shy," Arthur replied. Arthur introduced Lucas to his family, while he looked at Arthur annoyingly.
"Isn't he the one who left Elijah at home?" Alice, Arthur's mom, inquired.
Vincent cleared his throat. "Ahm, he isn't just any normal kid. He's the youngest AA Rank adventurer."
Reynolds and Alice exchanged surprised glances, digesting this information.

"Yo, Lucas, is that your brother?" Arthur questioned, staring intently at the figure on the platform.
"Half-brother," Lucas replied nonchalantly, clarifying any doubts they might have.
"Anyway, congrats. You have a Lance in your family," Elijah smiled, looking at Lucas.
Lucas returned the smile, then turned his gaze back to the screen. "The other continent, hmm," he mused.
He glanced around, noticing the undercurrent of chaos in the crowd's hearts despite the declaration of the Lances.
Arthur looked at him thoughtfully. "What do you think the strength of a Lance is?"
"White stage, and no higher than that," Lucas replied casually. "I think they need it that way so no Lance is stronger than the others."
Arthur nodded in agreement, while Elijah looked puzzled. "How the hell do you know this?"
Lucas smirked. "I have my ways."
"Don't give me that prideful smile," Elijah retorted, adjusting his glasses.
Lucas's grin widened. "Now you look like a devil," Elijah remarked with a hint of exasperation.

"Hey, Veronica, what the hell happened? Won't you tell your older sister? You've been looking around everywhere since the opera," Domi said, her gaze fixed on me with keen interest.
She resembled Mama so much, with her black hair styled differently but those same amethyst eyes.
"Hmmm," I muttered, trying to avoid her gaze.
Noticing my evasiveness, she spoke teasingly, "Why do I feel like our princess has seen her prince?"I looked at her, trying to keep my emotions hidden, but she just smiled and laughed.
"Looks like I hit a chord," she said, patting my head and ruffling my hair.I tried to stop her, feeling embarrassed to be treated this way in public.
It seemed the news of the other continent didn't affect her at all. I grabbed my head, trying to fix my now messy hair back to how it was.
She leaned closer, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "What's he like? Is he handsome?"
"Stop it, Big Sis," I protested, feeling my cheeks flush.
I looked up and my body just froze. My heart started pounding, blood rushing to my head, making everything spin. The whole world blurred, and all I could see was him. His blonde hair caught the light as it moved in the air.
Though he was far away, he seemed so close, his presence overwhelming. He turned around, his emotionless gaze briefly crossing mine before moving on, like I was something insignificant.
Yet, I couldn't take my eyes off him, watching his retreating figure with a growing sense of loss.
My body finally came out of its stunned state, but my mind was racing with a single thought: "What the hell is happening to me?"

"Father, what does 'tranquilizer' mean?" The voice of Ebon echoed in my mind as I entered my room.
"Huh, you changed my nickname," I noted, surprised."Yes, that seems much more appropriate and better suited," Ebon replied, his gaze shifting from the book he was reading back to me, then returning to the book with little interest.
"Anyway, what's the meaning?" he asked again."What the hell are you reading?" I inquired, sitting down on a chair and pouring myself a glass of water.
"It's a dark novel where the villain uses a tranquilizer to kidnap the heroine," he explained."Aren't you a little young to be reading that sort of thing?" I asked, concerned.
"Father, I may be younger, but my mind has grown significantly in these past two months," Ebon responded with a hint of pride.
"I want my old Ebon back," I muttered.
Ebon looked at me, "What does it mean?""A drug that calms a person," I answered, losing interest in his affairs."Isn't the writing wrong, then? If it calms, how does he kidnap her? It doesn't make any sense, just like you (Au)," Ebon mused.
I regretted teaching him how to read; I missed the old, innocent, obedient Ebon.
I looked out of the window to see workers grooming the garden, lost in thought. I'll be at the academy soon, but I don't remember much about this arc.
It's all just a blur, with only the main details: a spy of the other continent attacks the academy, Lucas joins the fight and dies, and that's it.
Every day, my memories feel more like a blur, and the pain intensifies."You know I can hear your thoughts," Ebon's voice broke through my trance.
"What the hell? Since when could you read my thoughts?" I asked, startled.Ebon stood up and walked towards me, crawling onto my lap.
I stroked his back as he spoke. "Show me the place where I bit you."
"Huh, why?"
"Just show it to me."I revealed my left arm, the place where he had bitten me, a little tattoo that felt incomplete.
"So, it isn't complete," Ebon observed."What is incomplete?" I asked, but Ebon didn't answer. Instead, he bit the same spot with more ferocity.
I winced in pain, but he didn't let go, biting through.
After a moment, he released.I could feel the beast will more present in me. Ebon spoke, "Now it's complete."
I looked at the place where he bit me. The tattoo or mark was now complete. "Now the bonding process is complete," Ebon explained.
"Wait, weren't you my bond before?" I asked, confused."Yes and no. When I was ignorant and bit you, trying to mark you, there was a problem. You got me out of your skin very quickly. This is why."
"Hmmm, I still don't exactly understand. But anyway, what's with the thoughts?" I asked, focusing on the more important issue.
"I could always listen to your thoughts but couldn't understand them because of my limited vocabulary. Now that the process is done, I think we can talk while being at a distance," Ebon explained.
"You aren't a regular wyvern," I said, shocked but smirking.
"Yes, because I'm your wyvern," Ebon replied.
