Chapter 29 - Chapter 29

"I'm still asking, you wanna come?" I looked at Ebon, sitting in his usual way in front of a book, engrossed in its contents."Fine, Father, I'll go with you. For Sylvie," Ebon finally agreed.

"Now that's my boy. Let's go." I tucked my black shirt into my black pants and fixed it with a brown belt. I slipped on my brown boots, which complemented the belt perfectly. "Aren't you going to wear a coat?" Ebon asked.

"Nah, I think this much is fine," I replied, pulling my cuffs up just above my elbows.

"You think she'll like this chocolate thing?"Ebon asked as I put on my silver rings and bracelets as I spoke.

"Of course she'll like it. It's pretty expensive. Also, it's the princess's little sister; I'm sure she'll like it," I reassured him .I fixed my hair, making sure they were neat and undisturbed. "Alright, let's head out," I said, feeling ready for the day ahead.

"What do you think?" I asked Ebon, flexing my bicep in front of him like a model trying different postures.

Ebon facepalmed with his scaly claw. "You look like you're going to a funeral, not a party. At least try to fix your hair, Father," he said, throwing a band to me.

"Okay, son, I'll try it out." I pulled my hair into a ponytail behind my head, leaving some of the front hair to fall on my forehead. I looked at myself in the mirror, seeing a confident, strong young man with a successful future.

"Pwahahah, a successful young man," Ebon mocked.Ignoring him, I cuffed down the arms of my shirt and put on a black coat with gold embroidery. A slithering snake design moved from the shoulders down to the end of the coat on both sides.

Ebon gave me a thumbs up with his scaly hands.

"Alright, now we're ready," I said, feeling satisfied with my look.

Ebon slithered onto my shoulder as I picked up the wrapped gift. He had done a great job with it. "You know, you've got some nice wrapping skills," I said, ruffling the scales on his head.

"Thank you, Father. Now, shall we move?" Ebon replied.

"Ebon, why do I think we're late?" I asked, glancing around the unusually quiet parking area of the manor.

"Young Master, do you want me to accompany you?" the driver asked.

"No, it's okay." I tossed him a bag of silver. He looked confused, but before he could speak, I said, "Go eat something and be back here in two hours, okay?"

"But Young Master, isn't this way too much?"

"Keep it and stop questioning me. Do as I told you," I commanded, rushing towards the gate.

"You're pretty gracious today," Ebon noted.

"It's important when going to an event," I replied.Ebon looked confused.

"Stop using your little Wyvern brain and focus on growing more," I said as he was about to complain.

I saw Arthur entering the mansion. "Oye, Princess," I called out.

Arthur turned around and gave me a smile, pulling me into a hug."Pretty late, man. What happened?" Arthur asked.

"Nothing, bruh. Ebon got constipation," I said, grinning as Ebon shot me a sharp look.

"Looking dashing, bro," I said, giving Arthur a light punch on the chest.

He wore a white shirt tucked into his black pants, a black coat, and a blue bow tie that looked more like a shoelace.

"I can say the same for you," Arthur replied.

"No need, I already know it," I smirked proudly.

"You know, you're so funny sometimes that I want to punch you," Arthur said, a vein popping on his head.

I handed Arthur Ebon and the gift. "Anyway, take Ebon to Sylvie."

"Aren't you gonna give it to her yourself?" Arthur asked.

"No need. I already wrote a happy birthday note for her. Just place it where you'll keep the presents," I said, spotting Elijah trying to clean his shirt with a cloth.

"O hey, Elijah!" I called out, ignoring Arthur and heading towards Elijah.

Arthur looked at Ebon and muttered, "Sometimes your master is such a pain."

"What the hell happened to you, bro?" I asked, looking at Elijah's cream-colored shirt stained with red juice.

"I don't know, someone bumped into me," Elijah replied, clearly frustrated.I placed my hand on his shirt and summoned mana into my fingertips, using a water element spell to clean the stain. "Your lieing right?"

"Bro, you got an affinity for water too?" Elijah asked, surprised.

"No,Dumbass, it's just a utility spell. Everyone has some affinity for every element; it's just the strength of one's element that determines their true affinity," I explained, scoffing at his shirt as if wiping off invisible dust.

"Sorry, I forgot that's like the most basic thing they teach when learning mana. I can't believe I missed it," I spoke, "Bro everything is possible in the writer's mind."

Elijah said, punching his head lightly."You look pretty happy today," he continued, noticing my unusually cheerful demeanor.

I smiled and leaned in to whisper in his ear, "I got a lot of money today."

Elijah smiled back, giving me a thumbs up.

"What can I say? I'm a materialistic boy," I mused.

I looked around and noticed a bunch of gazes on us. Leaning closer to Elijah, I whispered, "Bro, all the girls are looking at you."

"Really?" Elijah said, perking up and fixing his collar, trying to improve his appearance.

"100 percent," I confirmed with a thumbs up, smirking as he stood a little straighter.

Arthur walked over to us just as a voice boomed through the hall. "Everyone, get ready!" Reynold, Arthur's father, called out.

He was descending the stairs in a sharp white coat and matching pants, paired with a black shirt and a red tie. "They are coming," he announced, causing a ripple of anticipation to spread through the crowd.

Arthur positioned us near the stairs, handing each of us a cylindrical object. He took the center while Elijah and I flanked him slightly on either side.

Confused, I turned to Elijah and whispered, "What the hell am I supposed to do with these?"

Elijah, equally puzzled, shrugged. "I also don't know."I glanced to my left and noticed a young girl, about the same age as the birthday girl.

"Hey, little girl, do you know how to use this?" I asked her.

She nodded and showed me how to twist the black area at the bottom. Elijah and I listened carefully. I handed my cylinder to the girl.

"You do it," I said, giving her a thumbs up.As we got into position, the room's anticipation grew.

The birthday girl, Eleanor, walked in as I gestured to the little girl to be ready. Arthur's mom had her hands covering Eleanor's eyes as they descended the stairs, both dressed in beautiful white dresses. As soon as her hands were removed, everyone popped their party boomers.

"Happy Birthday, Eleanor!" the crowd chorused. I whistled, catching Arthur's eye, and he gave me a thumbs up.

The party began in full swing, filled with laughter, music, and the joyous chaos of a celebration well underway.
