"Schoolyard Surprises" is the chapter's title.
As Wolford took in the massive structure that stood before him, he observed, with a trace of amusement mixed with mild curiosity, "I see this is the place called school?" The building, which consisted of a massive conglomeration of corridors and classrooms, served as a testimony to the many different kinds of experiences that were gained by people who went through its doors.
He took a casual approach to the decision-making process and said, "Alright, let's enter, and I hope this will be a fun time." The notion of traversing the convoluted geography of a school as a student, a role that was unfamiliar to his guardian self, caused him to display a trace of pleasure in his demeanor.
An unanticipated barrier appeared in the form of a guard who stood in his way before he could proceed through the entryway. Throughout the course of his day, the tedious but required process of presenting identification transformed into a comedic interlude. The security guard, who appeared to be getting tired of hearing the same explanation over and over again, asked wearily, "Where's your ID?"
Wolford, who never loses his composure, replied with a confused face and asked, "Ah... Sorry, but what ID?" The security officer heaved a sigh of exasperation and indicated for the man to go ahead. "Wolford, it looks like it's you. "I'm sick of always hearing that, so just go ahead and enter," the security guard said, his countenance betraying the tiredness that had been building up over time.
Wolford brushed past the security guard and entered the school with a careless shrug as he entered the building. Once weird and unfamiliar, the everyday interactions of the human world now felt curiously familiar to him. Wolford relished the unpredictability of the schoolyard as he entered this new phase of his life and began this new phase of his existence.
As already said...
