"Unusual Extracurriculars" is the chapter's title.
She grabbed Wolford's hands and hurriedly led him into another room while urging him, "Follow me, or the teacher will be mad if you arrive late." "The teacher will be mad if you arrive late," she said.
The hallways were bustling with the activity of students going to and fro. A rich tapestry of school life that Wolford found oddly fascinating was displayed on the walls in the form of posters showcasing the numerous clubs and activities that were available.
Upon entering the chamber that had been allotted for them, they discovered a large hall that contained a stage. Students were participating in an odd extracurricular activity on the stage, which was a fight, which was an unexpected spectacle.
Her eyes sparkled with pleasure as she made the observation, "Looks like it already started," she said.
As students demonstrated their wide range of skills, the atmosphere in the room hummed with excitement. Some of them were able to conjure flames, while others displayed strength beyond that of a normal human. Wolford was both intrigued and entertained by the wide variety of talents that were on exhibit.
She extended her hand for Wolford to take as she made her proposal, which was, "How about we become partners?"
Wolford accepted the offer and responded with a puzzled smile and "Sure..." Although he was unsure of the circumstances, he was willing to make the most of the unexpected turn of events.
BOOM*
The stage was rocked by an unexpected explosion, which immediately drew everyone's attention. As Wolford watched, his eyes widened as he saw persons being tossed out of the stage in an effort to test the limits of their own ability.
As he observed the mayhem, he came to the conclusion that the recollections he had received were true; the students and teachers at this institution possessed incredible and varied powers.
Wolford beamed broadly, giddy with excitement at the prospect of delving into the bizarre world of these out-of-the-ordinary extracurricular activities.
