Duke wasn't expecting Darica to ask him a barrage of questions like those. However, he was somehow relieved that she did it. As that would make it easier for him to answer her and convince her that he was the right man for her.
"From the second I fell for you, babes. I no longer cared about anything else honestly. Whether you wear trousers or skirts. To me, as long as it is you, then I am content with that."
"Whether you can cook or not. Smile or not, fight or not. In my eyes, you are Darica, that daring and bold council president I fell for. The same person that changed me for the better, and made me want to seriously imagine a future with someone."
"I never believed in love before I met you. In this generation of ours, love has become something so fickle that it is disgusting to hear someone confessing their love. However, when you appeared, all that changed."
"I know that my words might sound as if I am just fooling around with you. But I sincerely hope that you will understand my feelings and know that I love you and will always do."
"I am not perfect and I have issues and sometimes I might act a bit over the top. But honey, do bear in mind that I will always come back to you no matter what. You are my home. And even if I want to try to deny it, I am head over heels for you and no other woman or man can change my love for you."
When it comes to saying sweet words, Darica had met a lot of people in her life who could do that, but Duke topped them all.
It was his words that always stopped her from blocking him when he was pestering her and she wasn't interested in doing anything romantic with him.
And listening to his long declaration of love, Darica couldn't find it in her heart to make things difficult for him.
"So, babes. Can we start over?" Duke pleaded as he looked at her with hopeful eyes.
Duke was anxious as he waited for a response from Darica. When he started talking and professing his love for her, it had been a while, and yet she had not said a thing during that time.
Apart from that smile on her face, he didn't even know what she was thinking, and it was driving him crazy.
He had thrown away his pride as a man and returned to her as humble as he could be. And with everything he had done, he truly didn't want to be turned away.
He wanted to have a relationship with her, have a future with her, and above all, let the love bloom and be like his parents.
He also envied their relationship and how they were so deep in love. And now that he had found someone that he sincerely loved, he didn't want to lose and live in regret.
Smiling at Duke, Darica felt that she was indeed not a jinx or an abandoned child. For she was now surrounded by a lot of people who loved her and a young man who was crazy in love with her.
She didn't know how long the relationship was going to last. But she decided the second she allowed Duke to take her home, a place where even the F5 had never gone, that she was going to give it a go.
She was going to do her best by staying true to herself and experiencing the love that everyone was always talking about.
She wanted to have someone to care for her, spoil her, and pamper her the way she always pampered others.
The feeling of having someone doing all that for her, made her look forward to the relationship and the perks it was going to bring.
Although things were messy, she was hoping for something greater in the future. After all, he just promised her.
Nodding her head with a smile on her face, Darica agreed without saying a word.
Seeing her giving him a nod of agreement, Duke blasted with emotions as his lips curled into a bright smile.
"Thank you, babes. I promise you that I will be good to you, I swear!" afraid that she might change her mind, Duke quickly said.
Darica burst out laughing upon hearing that as she found Duke very cute, "I know that you will be good to me. And so will I."
He grinned at hearing her saying that.
"Don't worry. I will not let you down," he promised her once again.
"And I am looking forward to that."
Duke heaved a sigh of relief upon hearing that, and even his sitting posture was more relaxed. He was indeed worried about everything before. But now that she had accepted him once again, there was no need for him to be on the edge anymore.
"So, regarding that issue, I raised on Darwin's Island. Can I still stay with you for the holiday?" Duke, who had received an inch, couldn't help but ask for a mile.
Darica shook her head helplessly as she looked at Duke, who just couldn't forget about that issue, and responded, "I don't go back on my word. However, it will depend on whether you can stay where we are going," with a smirk on her face as she recalled the beautiful houses that awaited her in her tiny village.
Hearing that, Duke couldn't help but recall something, "I nearly forgot because I was nervous about being rejected earlier. But babes, did you change homes again?" so he asked curiously.
Darica looked at Duke with astonishment, her eyes widened and obviously in disbelief, "so where did you think you were going?" she asked.
"Home, and it doesn't matter where that is. But now that I am looking at the road, babes, it can't be that you are living out of the city, are you?" Duke asked worriedly upon seeing how the road was the one that led out of Avia.
Darica chuckled when she heard Duke's response, "You are very funny! Trust me!"
"Babes!" he whined as he looked at her as if he were some little child asking for candy.
