Olivia's POV:
Natalie and I took a cab to the Bennett mansion, when we got there she couldn't help but glare around "This is a dreamland" she said and I didn't reply because I had to quickly save my father.
So I hurried upstairs and didn't pay attention to Natou, I got to the bedroom and luckily the card was still there. With a smile, I rushed downstairs towards Natalie.
"Did you find it?" she asked and I nodded before showing her the golden card and she gasped in shock.
"Mr. Bennett must love you a lot," she said I rolled my eyes.
"Let's go," I said and she held my hand stopping me from leaving.
"You know the code, right?" she asked and my eyes widened in shock, I didn't ask the code because I was not interested in the card. This was so frustrating, she noticed the look on my face and sighed heavily.
"Okay let us not panic, you could just call him and ask," she said and this became more frustrating. I didn't have his contact and I felt embarrassed asking him for money directly.
"You don't have your husband's contact?" she blurted when she noticed the look on my face I nodded, then I glared at Natou who shook her head negatively.
"He is in the office now, if you want to talk to him then go to his company," Natou said and I frowned at her.
"Natalie we could find another way, how about talking to the doctors one more time?" I said and she clicked her tongue.
"The doctors can't do anything about it, what are you going to choose? Your pride or your dad's life?" she asked awakening my conscience.
This was it, I had no other option…Natalie and I took another cab to Bennett Enterprise. I was nervous throughout the drive thinking of ways to ask Mr. Bennett for money.
"You are a lady, don't you know means to ask for money from a man?" Natalie asked and I glared at her angrily.
"I won't sell my dignity for money," I said angrily and she found my words funny.
"He is your husband" she spouted and I rolled my eyes, he is my husband on papers and nothing else, I will do everything in my power to end this charade of a marriage.
We got to the company and paid for the cab before walking into the huge gates, the Bennett enterprise was said to be the tallest building in the country with more than one thousand employees.
We walked to the receptionist, it was a lady in her twenties and she was dressed in a white shirt and black skirt. She was busy on a call and also had smashed chewing gum in her mouth, we stood before her but she didn't pay attention to us as she kept talking and laughing on the phone.
She seemed to be talking to her boyfriend "Hello?" Natalie called but she raised her hand signaling that we should wait.
Not long after, a middle-aged man walked to the receptionist, he was dressed in a black tuxedo and looked like someone of the high class, to my surprise she dropped the call and attended to him.
"We came here first," Natalie said pissed off. The lady glared at us before rolling her eyes, she attended to the man who later left then she turned towards us.
"The company doesn't need staff for now," she said and we stared at her confused.
"We didn't say we came here to work," I said and she nodded before leaning on her desk.
"Okay tell me, how can I help you?" she said in a sarcastic tone and I saw Natalie trying to keep her cool, she was short-tempered and this lady was pushing her luck.
I held Natalie and dragged her behind, I was going to talk to the lady instead "I want to see Mr. Bennett" I said and to my surprise, the lady burst out in laughter.
"Why are you laughing?" Natalie scolded angrily as she grabbed the attention of others.
"Don't you girls have anything to do with your lives? Why do you keep coming here every day to see Mr. Bennett? Shameless" the receptionist blurted and my eyes widened in shock.
"Please, let us see Mr. Bennett…I promise I am not one of his fans" I folded my arms and the receptionist picked up the fixed phone and dialed a number, I felt relieved thinking she was calling Mr. Bennett but it turned out she was calling security.
"What are you doing?" I asked confused when two security guards hurried towards us.
"Get out of here before I call the police" she warned and Natalie sneered before pointing a finger at her.
"And who do you think you are to drive us? Do you know who she is, she is…" Natalie was saying when I quickly shut her mouth with my hands.
I didn't want anyone to know about my relationship with Mr. Bennett and it's not like the receptionist was going to believe us.
"This is a misunderstanding, okay why don't you call his assistant Bruno…and tell him it's Olivia" I suggested and the receptionist rolled her eyes before turning to the guards.
"Why are you standing there? Drag them away" she scolded and the guards walked towards us, this was embarrassing as the other employees glared at us mockingly.
"This isn't over, I won't spare you" Natalie threatened angrily, maybe we shouldn't have come here.
"What's happening here?" a hoarse voice echoed from right, I turned and found Bruno walking towards us and I heaved in relief.
The receptionist walked towards Bruno "These ladies are causing a fuss, can you believe they asked to see Mr. Bennett?" she said while laughing and Bruno gave her a warning gaze before walking towards me.
"Leave her" he ordered the guards who took a few steps backward, Natalie sneered and straightened her dress before folding her arms.
"Mrs. Bennett, you should have called and I would have come pick you up," he said and the receptionist's eyes widened in shock.
She must be wondering why he called me that, but I didn't have time for that because my father was in a critical condition.
"Can I see Mr. Bennett please?" I asked and he nodded before staring at Natalie.
"Are you hurt?" he asked seeing that she was aggressively held by the guards, sweat formed on the guard's forehead as she glared at Natalie.
Natalie feigned tears as she nodded "It hurts a lot" she said and I sighed, she was such a drama queen.
"I will take you to the clinic after this," he said and she nodded.
"Let's go," he said and we followed him to the elevator, Natalie smiled and waved goodbye to the receptionist who looked like she had seen a ghost.
It was very unprofessional of her, she didn't even ask if we had an appointment or not before calling the guards on us. She judged us on our appearance, I couldn't blame her because this was the life we lived in.
We arrived on the last floor and got down the elevator "Mrs. Bennett, he is in his office. You should go meet him while I take your friend to the clinic" he said and my brows furrowed.
I glared at Natalie "I don't need the clinic" she said and Bruno held her hand.
"Let's go, you should take some painkillers," he said and dragged her to the elevator, I don't know why I felt like this was all a setup.
With heavy footsteps, I walked to the door and I also noticed this was the only door on this floor, and it didn't look like an office to me.
"Come in" his voice echoed from inside as I filled my lungs with air before pushing the door.
I was right, this was a suite with a mini kitchen, a study, bookshelf, and also had two doors, probably the bedroom and kitchen.
Was this the presidential suite? He sat on the chair and his index finger massaged his head.
He glared at me and I was scared, and he looked pale "Get me a glass of water" he said and I stared at the coffee table which had a jar of water with three glasses.
I nodded and poured a glass of water before walking towards him, he drank it before he picked up a document from his desk and went through it completely ignoring me.
"Mr. Bennett" I called nervously.
"Hm," he replied without lifting his head to glance at me.
I bit my lips as I thought of how to ask for money from him and he made things very difficult with his look, he kept massaging his head with his index finger.
He must have a headache I clenched my fist not knowing where to start.
He dropped the file and glared at me "Do you need something?" he asked straight forward and I swallowed hard before nodding.
"You are being selfish Mrs. Bennett" he blurted and this got me more nervous.
