Chapter 2 - The Biggest Suprise Of My Life

Alexander's POV:

I sat in the dining having breakfast alone while the guards encircled me, and then Bruno walked in with a huge smile.

"Mr. President, I got what you asked for," he said and placed a brown file beside me, he was about to sit when I glared at him angrily. I didn't like having a meal with someone else, this was how much I loved being alone.

My eyelid flickered as I read the document about Olivia Clarke, turns out her father owes me a huge debt.

She graduated from a prestigious university but lives a low life because her father went bankrupt, she is also Coyle Adams's secretary.

"Mr. President, I hope you don't like her because she is getting married today," he said and I looked at him.

"Today?" I asked in disbelief and he nodded.

I was sad, I could not help but wonder why this life was unfair to me. I never felt this way towards anyone, and when I do the person is getting married. It was love at first sight and broken on the second day.

I stood up and walked towards the picture of my grandfather and scanned at it for a while, I was used to getting everything I wanted even if it was with force. So how could I let her go?

"Where are you going to?!" Bruno asked when I picked up my car keys and turned to leave.

"Follow me if you wish to know," I said awkwardly before getting into my car and as if on cue, my bodyguards got into their various bikes and followed me.

From Olivia's POV:

I was well dressed for my court wedding and walked into the courtroom with my dad who had sweaty palms "Are you this nervous to marry me off?" I asked with a funny tone and he shook his head in denial.

I could tell something was bothering him and made a mental note to ask him after the wedding.

The instant I entered the courtroom, the whole hall was silent as I walked in.

Caleb and I couldn't afford a church wedding, so we settled for less with Natalie and my other friends standing witness.

"You are stunning, Miss Clarke," Caleb said in a sweet voice as I stood by him, I smiled. Without a word, we both stood by the judge waiting for him to bind us.

I was so nervous right now "Are you okay?" Caleb whispered and I nodded.

"Holding a wedding without me?" a hoarse and manly voice echoed from the door, bodyguards dressed in black suits surrounded the hall and this got me.

Who were they? Then a tall man, with rough black hair, hazel eyes, and dressed in a tailored design suit walked in with his hands in his pocket.

After a moment of silence, he looked up at me and then at Dad.

"Mr. Bennett, it's you…can we please resolve this case somewhere else? My daughter is getting married now." Father said with a pleading tone and I was surprised, so I walked towards him and could feel how he shivered in fear.

I couldn't help but be scared, the man's aura was far more dangerous than that of my boss and he seemed like someone from the second generation of billionaires, how did Father get entangled with him?

"No, I want it to be settled here," he added.

I clenched my fist as I swallowed the lump in my throat. Can't he see I am about to get married right now?

"I understand," Father said in a submissive tone, this only meant that he was in the wrong.

"Father, who is this?" I asked when Natalie rushed towards me before whispering a few words, my lips fell in shock. Alexander Bennett?

"Bruno, show him the contract." Mr. Bennett signaled and a man dressed in a brown suit approached us with a blue file containing a well printed contract.

Father held it with shivering hands as he read the contract "This…" he stuttered and then glared at me.

Out of curiosity, I grabbed the file from Father before reading it, there was just one clause written on it.

He wanted me to marry him today and pay off father's debt or else father will have to spend the rest of his life in jail.

The paper fell off my hand as I stared at Mr. Bennett, this was the first time we met so why would he want to marry me? Now that I remember, the other man looks familiar. He is the man I scolded yesterday, did they want to take revenge?

"Father, please tell me you don't owe him such a huge sum," I asked with a glimmer of hope, praying that this was all a dream. Caleb walked towards me as he was confused as well, he picked up the paper and read it.

"This is crazy." he launched his fist to hit Mr. Bennett who quickly dodged it and some guards hurried and pinned Caleb down.

"It's my wedding, you can't replace me," Caleb said in a bitter tone.

What was all this for? Where did he suddenly come from and want to marry me and why does my dad owe him such a huge amount of money?

My mother hurried towards my dad, staring at them I felt a sharp pain in my chest. "Father, do you owe him?" I asked and he nodded embarrassedly.

"Mr. Bennett, I will find a way and pay your debt…but you can't interfere in my wedding." I folded my hands and pleaded, but his eyes didn't meet mine. It's like he was avoiding an eye contact with me.

"Bruno," he called and the man in a brown suit walked towards him before handing him some papers. He took out a paper and signed it "I already signed the marriage papers, now it's left your signature. It's either you sign today or your dad goes to jail…think carefully." he said and without waiting for my reaction, he turned and left the hall, this wasn't happening. I stared at Bruno who held the paper and pen towards me. Was this all a dream? Maybe I was still asleep and needed to wake up.

"Natalie, wake me up," I said and she had a sad look, she couldn't believe what was happening as well.

"Don't sign it." Caleb scolded but his words didn't matter, this man was powerful and would send my father to jail if I didn't do what he wanted, but why did he choose to marry me?

"Miss Clarke, after signing the document you will have to come with us. Please take your time." Bruno explained when my father fell on his knees.

"Please don't let my daughter suffer for my mistakes," he said and had a sad look but I knew Bruno couldn't do anything because he was only following orders.

"Olivia, don't let your father go to jail." Mother cried out, her face was wet from tears and this made me sad. My parents have been taking care of me since I was born and now I had to return the favor.

"I am sorry Caleb," I said and he shook his head but couldn't move because he was held down by some guards.

"If I sign this, then will my dad's debt be cleared?" I asked to be more sure and Bruno nodded.

My hands shivered as I held the marriage document, Mr. Bennett already signed and it was left only my signature for the marriage to be final. I took the pen and signed there, I was doing this for my parents so I didn't have to regret it.
