Ivy said decisively, without a hint of hesitation, as it wasn't the truth. "I've told you, the child's father is already dead!"
After speaking, Ivy took a deep breath and pulled Michael's hand away from strangling Zach's neck.
"Zach, you better not spout nonsense here. You know damn well whether the child is yours or not!"
When they were together, they barely held hands and only kissed each other on the cheek. Now he suddenly claimed the child was his. She knew exactly what he meant!
"Ivy, the child needs a father, and I'm undoubtedly the most suitable one!" Zach showed no fear of Ivy's anger and looked at her with a half-smile, as if confident. "You're raising a child on your own, so your chances of remarrying are slim, and although I've had a failed marriage, I'm still the child's father!"
