When the old lady finished speaking, her head disappeared completely, and the conversation between her and a young girl could still be heard from inside the room.
"Grandma, who were you talking to for so long?"
"A young man trying to court the girl next door, Ivy!"
Listening to the not-so-private conversation, Michael Gordon furrowed his brow deeply and stared at the tightly closed door.
Bringing a child? That little girl who resembled her, calling her "auntie" and sticking close to her, it was obvious that this woman had a soft spot for the child. Otherwise, he wouldn't have had the chance to stand at her door.
But who is this child to her? Calling her "auntie," is the child a relative's daughter? There are no men's slippers at home. The girl who opened the door, named Cathy, seems to be a nanny that she hired to take care of the child.
So, what is the relationship between this child and her?
