The Old Lady laughed out loud, her laughter over the past few days exceeding that of the preceding decades. It started and ended with happiness, the most painful part being the lengthy timespan in between.
She took Scarlett Glenn's hand and said, "No worries, later on, you'll take care of Grandmother."
The Old Lady sighed, "The things I pretended were originally meant for your mother. After her incident, I couldn't give them to her, so I thought about donating them all before I die as a way to do good deeds, to accumulate merit for your mother. I used to think that my daughter's things shouldn't go to anyone else, but now that I've found you, these things finally have an owner."
