"Sally, what are you laughing at?" Ella Lacey was puzzled by her gaze.
Sally Jefferson held her hand and returned the question, "Why don't you ask yourself?"
"Huh?" Ella's big eyes blinked, looking entirely innocent.
Louis Jefferson couldn't stand it anymore and gave Sally a meaningful glance.
"It's time for school. Let Uncle Wang drive you there." Louis Jefferson considerately opened the car door for them, diverting the attention.
After they got in the car, he drove alone to the river for a ride. The car window was wide open, the gusty wind pouring in, stirring up his fine, broken hair, revealing a pair of melancholy eyes.
He couldn't get over the events of last night.
He felt guilty towards Ella. He had watched as she drank all that red and white wine.
He also owed Ella an apology for taking part in the scheme that led to her being trapped.
