"I don't have any other appointments this afternoon, so you don't have to feel bad," Gavin Turner said with a smile as he took her coat and hung it up.
"But still..." She shouldn't be taking up his space and time.
"Sit down, let's talk about your test results." Gavin didn't give her a chance to keep fretting.
Charlotte Green only then remembered the purpose of her visit, sitting in front of him with some trepidation, her clear eyes eagerly yet fearfully looking at him.
"Don't be nervous," Gavin reassured her with another soothing smile, flipping open the file he had recorded during the test. "I've looked over your past record carefully. You don't come here often, only during special times."
Charlotte averted her gaze, repulsed; those warm eyes seemed to see right through her.
"Tell me, have you been under a lot of pressure lately? What kind of pressure? Will you work with me?" Gavin continued to smile encouragingly.
"I..." Charlotte looked at him, hesitant to speak.
