"Gavin Turner! Don't you go too far!" After being rejected over and over again and never receiving a favorable response from him, Lucy Peak's temper finally erupted.
"Do you have feelings for that mentally ill woman with the surname Green? I'm telling you, she's already married!!"
Three years ago, she had realized that Gavin Turner looked at Charlotte Green differently. Although he was as friendly and kind to her as he was to other girls, there was an additional tenderness and indulgence in his eyes when he looked at Charlotte.
"I have eyes and ears; she married the current CEO of the Cliffs, correct?" Gavin said casually, as if he truly didn't care.
"You don't care?" Lucy Peak couldn't believe that his reaction was just that.
"Care about what? What relationship do I have with her? Why should I care?" In truth, he did care; by the time he had finally made up his mind to come back and protect her, she had already married someone else.
