Red Blazer stood before Ada. His tall stature appeared daunting. His suit was silver like his hair, red highlighting the sides with blazing lines. The ethereal glow of his red eyes was the only punctuation in the dim surroundings of the dark alley. Her now blonde hair stuck to her skin, sweat soaking through her silk shirt and leather jacket.
"You're bluffing." Red Blazer said, his muscled arms folded over his chest. Unlike the other hostage, this hostage had some knowledge of magic, her conscious constantly fighting against her own. Her memories pulsed in Ada's mind, shuddering as dots brimmed her vision.
"By nightfall, you'll see." Her black painted lips curved up. Another round of screaming resurrected, the ground trembling.
"What will you do," she rounded him, her high heeled boots clicking against the split concrete. "Save your people or your pride." He stepped forward, his jaw clenched. He glared at her before he flew away.
Nausea washed through her, bouncing as she fought to put the hostage's mind to sleep. A dark magic user, Luna, one of the leaders of a band of small time criminals in City 5.
A hover car steered past the corner, stopping right before her. The platinum plates glittered slightly, blue energy from the zircon floating between them. It buzzed, black fumes sizzling around it. Skunk face sat in one of the two leather seats, his dark mask over his face.
Ada ran, bolting onto the side of the hover car. Skunk face helped her into her seat, pulling the gears as it harrumphed into action.
"Took you long enough. He could have killed me." The hover car swerved through the labrinyth of alleys.
"No hero would do that."
"Are you new in this town? The fact that Red Blazer still has his license intact is a mystery." Ada felt the lips of her hostage say, the hostage's conscious regaining control of her mouth.
Walls of glass buildings ran down, some shrouded in flames. Splinters of glass covered the concrete, sunlight pelting against the breaks. Smoke billowed to the light yellow sky. As the hover car sped through a maze of tracks, the chaotic sounds became an insufferable buzz which filled her with unease, their plans rolling through her.
They reached the edge of town, a large canyon lay. The hover car dropped down a steep slope, soaring over the bumpy juts of stone. It swerved down the barren terrain, the walls hollowed out by a mighty river that once coursed through. Her head throbbed loudly, fighting off the blood of innocents on the sheathed daggers at her belt.
Soon they reached a dead end. The hover car plunged through the wall, they both shimmered.
"I can never understand how you have the courage to phase through walls when you're in your season." Skunk face admitted as the hover car swept through a hall plated with platinum, mecury lights blared from bulbs above.
It opened up to a large lobby filled with similar looking hover cars. Tables with monitors and microphones were pushed to the side, people running about in their suits. They walked past the hover car, their footsteps overshadowed by the loud sounds.
They left the throng behind, walking through the motion sensored door at the west wall. Ada fought with the conscious, still feeling her stomach curdle. All she needed to do was survive. Survival was the key despite the murders she must have committed today.
They passed through white washed halls opening to a whole floor filled with holograms, machines and deadly weapons on different pedestals. A man stood at the centre of it all, overseeing as engineers and villains alike rushed around. Ada focused, feeling her vision bob up and down.
Without turning back, he voiced, "I see they still fail to honor our threat of destruction," Vision said, his dark hair slicked back. Ada felt her throat clog. He turned to them, his ethereal grey eyes gleaming.
"Get yourselves ready. We end this tonight."

Skunk face's mask slid open, the heroes in front fell unconscious. The mask closed back once again, hiding his face underneath the dark plastic. Ada's mouth opened, her eyes taking in the the blood that soaked the side walk. The scent of blood coated the streets, the side walks of the capital of City five busted in and littered with heroes while the rest of the citizens remained in their respective divisions in the city, unaware of the threat of impending doom.
"Come on." Skunk face said, dragging Ada as they ran further down the road. Vision stood tall, two tall men flanked each of his side with fancy guns hanging from carriers strapped to their backs.
"Sign this and I will not harm these people." Vision spoke. He held out a document, his hands stroking the sheet. Ada felt her blood run cold, the conscious of the hostage whispering seals of innocents' death.
"We will do no such thing." One of the four spoke, her feminine voice loud in the eerie silence. Ada felt her stomach tumble, churning as it went. She felt her conscious pulled back to the numerous innocents that had been killed while she stood at the side lines.
The conscious of the hostage swivelled, delighted at the preceedings of this. The air cackled with a chilling reality, preeminence of something sinister lurking underneath the surface. Her heart rammed in pain, her need to survive losing its stand in her slightly. Vision smirked.
"Well, suit yourself." He pressed a button in slow motion. Bombs all around town would be set off, innocents killed. She felt the urge to put an end to this, to jump forward and swipe the detonator. Her breaths passed through tight muscles, guilt sucking on her. She wouldn't play good, survival was the key to not being exiled. Selflessness is nothing but a determent, people must die for her to live.
The explosions resounded around them. Her conscious was sucked into another portal.
