As for Alistair, he kept switching positions, like a pregnant woman in labor. He stood up from the couch and walked back and forth in the room.
His hands balled into fists and wondered if he was waiting for the monster to show up, so they could fight.
After some minutes of watching my husband move from one corner to another, the maids announced that the bath water was ready.
I asked them to call Liza to help me out since I was still shaking.
"Do not worry," Alistair stopped them. He walked to where I was and told them "I will call you if I need help."
What was the meaning of his statement? Why did he send them away? The maids were leaving and wanted to ask him to consider his decision. There was no way I would be alone in that bathroom after what happened.
"Do not be afraid. I checked the room and the guards searched the entire building. He is gone."
I nodded, taking another sip from my cup.
